Hello! I was banded on the 20th of November. I love having the band! My surgeon was Dr. Baptista at Jacksonville Weight Loss Center. I had my first fill last week and have had no problems as of yet. I had read a lot of horror stories about the pain and stuff but I really have been lucky. Even the fill was not bad:). I did my post op diet over Thanksgiving! That was the only painfull part so far, not eating what everyone else was. I strained some turkey soup! Oh well, Hope you are doing well and happy New Year!

Ok. I read all of the post about how terrible the first fill is. I really lucked out! I was prepared for a horrible office visit. Luckily I did not have too much pain. Evidently the way my Dr. Put my band in I only have one incision for the band and one for my hernia repair. The Doctor used a 19 gage needle and inserted it through my incision in my belly button as I did a stomach crunch. He pegged the port the first try. The fill itself was not bad except for the guzzling water to be sure that the band was not too tight. My husband said that the suringe had about 7ccs in it and it was empty when he finished. I should have asked what the total was. I am on liquids for two days and I think that tonight I will try some eggs. We shall see how that works:blush:

November 30th was my first time back to the Dr. Office. All went well! No problems thus far eating. I am surprised that I can eat but I am sure not eating what I used too:) I will not get a fill for about a month and I am looking forward to it. I am not feeling too much restriction from the band. I know it is there and I eat less, however, I thought that I would be able to eat a bite and be finished. I can eat 2 scrambled eggs! I was hoping It would be more like 1. I need some tough love from my band I think:biggrin: I wanted to see a more rapid wieght loss! I have to say that I did loose 9.5 lbs since the 20 though. Yes mine still itch terribly!I cant wait to tear away the bandages on Friday!!!!!!

Wow, I would say that it is still worth it. I am sure that the port revision will not be as bad as the whole surgery. Good luck!

I am thrilled to have finally been approved for this surgery! Just getting ready for it I have lost 20 pounds. I got banded on Friday the 20th of November and have lost about 7 pounds, I will get the official word tomorrow from the Doctor how much Ive lost according to his scale:smile2:. I have just begun eating soft foods yesterday and so far so good. I have been feeling great and cant wait until I can throw out some of my fat clothes!! Getting through the liquid only diet over thanksgiving was hell but I did it! I did not realize that I had that kind of strength. Any advice for a newly banded gal would be appriciated.

I just got banded on the 20th and just started eating mushy foods. I have lost about 7 pounds too! I am thrilled! So far I have been feeling great.

Hello, I live in Jacksonville. I go to Jacksonville Weight loss center. Just waiting on approval from insurance.
