    Pet Peeves

I have a lot of lose skin on my tummy, and I still have some weight to loose. *sniggers* OK, I'll admit I groan a little inside when I often read 'I weight myself...' Thanks for the laugh! My kids call me the 'grammar police' and they would be horrified to read my blog. I'm the queen of ...(dot, dot, dot) when I'm blogging (no time for punctuation when the words are flowing LOL). I'm sure it would drive me nuts to read my own ramblings, so I try to be forgiving. I try to send those 'uninformed' posters to the Stickies. I know I read all those when I started here...your blog here would be a great Sticky! -BG

In other news: 1 and half chins is better than 3.

Good for you!!! ...and why didn't someone tell me I needed my DH on a ladder for pics? I remember when I first came here wondering why all these pretty girls had avatars of the tops of their heads LOL! Keep going girl! -BG

    New Year, New You Challenge!

Woot!!! This morning I met my goal!!! I'm now 75 pounds down total!!! I can't believe I lost weight over the holiday...I ate and drank everything I wanted (a tiny bit of the bad stuff mind you, but even a cookie or two a day and plenty of alcohol). I love my band! Just 6 more pounds and I'll be 'NORMAL'!!! Thanks for the Challenge!
  7. I had the worst post-op diet I've seen here...3 weeks of CLEAR liquids with 3 glasses of skim milk a day...I was so weak by the third week I was ready to cry. I started FULL liquids two days early (yes, I cheated)...some things just make no common sense. I started feeling better the more calories I got in...try some high cal. cream soups with some pureed meat added. Best wishes! -BG
  8. Eggs are a difficult food just post-band because they are a rubbery food that doesn't break down any more in your pouch then when you swallow them...think about chewing up eggs and then spitting them into a funnel...if you don't chew REALLY well, you'll get some large pieces that might stop up the funnel. Most other mushies break apart more in the pouch when combined with the slime in your esophagus/pouch, but eggs don't.

My Doctor Wants Me to Post This

LOL...I did buy the new bras out of necessity (while kneeling down between the racks hiding from any clerks). I haven't braved the briefs yet...it seems all the cute 'little' ones are in one section at my store and I am afraid I'll get looks from the skinny gals if I'm no longer looking at the giant grammy panties. Thanks for your bravery! Maybe I'll take DD with me...

    Friday Weigh Ins

Down a pound this week...just .5 and I'll be at 75# (my next goal). I can't even believe I lost weight over Christmas...I ate snacks/appetizers, drank lots of alcohol and ate a little of everything, including a few cookies. I'm starting to feel 'normal' when it comes to food LOL! I love my band!

    12/8/09 Deck the Halls...

We got our live tree for the foyer (I think it's 12' this year), as usual, the weekend after Thanksgiving. The boys got all my outside decorations up that weekend as well (Attached Pic 1- Front porch/door). I made the lighted garland, decorations and the Williamsburg arch over the door. Everything is now on the tree (Attached Pic 2- This year's tree), and all the decorations are finally up around the house, except my kids displays which they will do (Christmas dollhouse, train set, and monorail). Lest I repeat myself, If you want, you can read more about my Christmas obsession at last years blogs here on LBT: 12/4/08 Fa la-la-la-la... - LAP-BAND®®®®® The tree/ornaments: 12/29/08 It looks like someone threw up ornaments on our tree! - LAP-BAND®®®®® Oh, and if you're wondering why my mantle has a nativity with a pink light in it that makes it look more like a brothel than a crèche (Attached Pic 3), then you must read my last year's blog with my very favorite family Christmas read: 12/17/08 I Believe in Santa! - LAP-BAND®®®®® In this pic you can also see 2 of the 3 cradles my kids made on the hearth...read: 12/6/08 Traditions...What's in Your Shoes? - LAP-BAND®®®®® I love setting the Dining Room table for Christmas (Attached Pic 4 & 5- Dining Room). I made the decorations and fruit cone on the table. My MIL gave me a few pieces of Lenox Holiday Christmas china that someone had given her and that got me started on setting up service for the holidays. I didn't select a china when we got married as our everyday setting was expensive, so it's fun for me to set out this china once a year. So get going folks and Deck the Halls!!

    12/23/09 Happy Holidays!!!

Just want to wish Happy Holidays to all my Lap Band friends!!! I’ve been crazy busy, as I’m sure you have. The snowstorm Saturday kept Mom & Dad at home an extra day so they didn’t arrive until Sunday (so glad DH and DS1 made it home very late Friday night). Mom and Dad left yesterday and I miss them already. We had a wonderful visit… Dad especially, must have talked to me about my WL at least 10 times during the visit…it’s funny, since I saw them a lot this Fall and it’s not like I’ve lost more than 10 or so pounds since I last saw them, but he said he can really see a change. Dad was in a great mood as he has a new CPAP machine (I think he called it a bi-PAP?) and so he’s been sleeping better and it shows. He’s temporarily using a cane because he’s developed a heel spur, but for an 80 year old, he’s doing alright. Mom loves spoiling the grandchildren (all 12 of them) and the kids love it. I loved making the Christmas cookies with her and the kids. Mom and I stayed up late talking and laughing each night…it was such a relaxing visit. Today DH and I finished the errands and wrapping while all the kids were gone (and I finished making the rest of the cookies); DD had work, DS1 went to meet his new GF’s parents and see her (also a PSU student), and DS2 had school. So tomorrow starts all our traditions and I can’t wait. I'm sorry I can’t send you each a personal note, but know that I’m thinking of you all this holiday season and hope that you’re feeling my love as well as the love of all your family and friends…love is the best gift of all. I've been so blessed this year and am so thankful for your friendship. Happy Holidays!!! -BG
