I'll get you my pretty, and... Sorry, couldn't help myself...Love ya JA!

Sorry I’ve been offline…life, ya know. I’ve been in more re-injury pain from my ‘dressing room incident’ but it’s finally getting a little better (PT is helping). DH is now going to PT three times a week also for his arm/neck (ice on the driveway fall). We’ve been going at different times and I didn’t see him this morning when he left as I was in the shower. He came home to change as I was getting ready to head out the door to PT. He points to me and starts laughing hysterically…we had on identical red OSU T-shirts, black sweats, and white tennies. I guess this means we’ve been married too long as we’re starting to dress alike. Well, we were born on the same day, but that’s a story for another time (I'm just sayin'). You know how they say people start to look like their pets the longer they live together (is the same true with spouses)? …Well...My theory is when you start dressing the same as your spouse it’s time for the old-folks home ('cause you're probably doing it so you can remember who you're married to...or at least who you need to go home with)…and I’m not there yet. I’ll have to watch this as we’re going to start going to PT together Friday (and yes, the guy who greeted me at PT this morning noticed…D*@N, knew I should have run back in and changed my shirt!). Twins?

I want a Star-Belly, and I want it NOW!!! I’m getting impatient…yes, again. Patience has never been one of my virtues. This 6 month time warp in super slow-mo is starting to feel like Groundhog Day (and I’m in PA, so I should know). I’ve done my research and I feel prepared, I’ve chosen my type of band, and even my port site (sounds like I’m going on a cruise…I wish), I’m done with all the pre-op doc visits, I’m only allowed to lose 4 more pounds, and yet I’ve got 6 weeks left before I can even ‘submit for approval’ (at least that sounds like an optimistic phrase). Maybe it’s this gloomy time of year…I wake up every day enthusiastic and ready and yet…no band…like I said, Groundhog Day. Can I just say for the 248th time…insurance rules are diabolical…DIABOLICAL I tell you!!! I’m jealous of those with Stars upon thars…you Star-Bellies…now where’s that Sylvester McMonkey McBean and his very peculiar machine?!!

What are the injections for? Diabetes? Surely the injections aren't just part of a normal post op...haven't heard anyone having to do that. -BG

Whoops, my bad..you're right...it says "tech doing basic nursing duties." Sorry.

Apparently the TLC site was bombarded with emails/messages from angry viewers about them even 'shopping the possibility of a show' (I was ready to send them one as I love TLC, until I saw this...it ended as quickly as it began). Here's yesterday's update. LOS ANGELES, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- The Learning Channel's president says Nadya Suleman, the California woman who recently gave birth to octuplets, won't be getting her own TLC show. Suleman, who is single and unemployed, has been criticized for having eight babies through in vitro fertilization when she already has six young children at home and receives food stamps and other government aid. "TLC is not pursuing any program at this time with Nadya Suleman," TLC's Eileen O'Neill told Us Weekly in a statement. "We wish the family well." The network had initially said it was watching how the Suleman story unfolded to see if there was the potential for a television series. TLC is the home of "Jon and Kate Plus 8," a reality show about a family with sextuplets. The Web site through which Suleman had been soliciting donations was also recently shut down because of alleged death threats, Usmagazine.com said.

Good question...Simple..The "Before" pic had her holding one of the original 6 on her lap, so it was a 'datable' pic. But even if she had done it pre kids (which didn't happen), it would (again) make her a liar as she said (Ann Curry interview) she didn't spend anything on herself while she was a nurse. As she said...I saved and horded all my money to pay for several of my initial IVF's.

Didn't know this...It'll be interesting to see what CPS does with this complaint!

Back on topic... Just watched 'The Doctors' show and they (again) were discussing this mom. The plastic surgeon on the show had photos of her in the past (while on her 'disability payments' w/6 kids) and showing her now. He estimated she spent 20-30K on plastic surgery (lips, nose for sure and probably eyes/brows). Of course they debated how she could spend money on this with 6 kids (at that point) that she couldn't afford/losing home/living w/mom...all the usual points. He also said a lot of women come in to his office wanting to look like someone else (they showed the Angelina J. pic) and how he screens them for their reasoning/mental health about whether they want to just look better, or want to look like someone else. *BTW- Tomorrow on The Doctors...5 things that you might not think about that can cause you to gain weight (being in love is one of them).

Ahhh...the only creative 'craft' I have no patience for...sewing. I think my mending pile (mountain) still has baby clothes in it (youngest is 13)...*she hangs her head in shame* My family teases me that it's 'the black hole'. They know better now then to throw something in that pile (huge basket that's now overflowing about waist high). All I sew are instant gratification decorating things like curtains and pillows...straight stitching. I'm in awe of those who can sew a button hole or zipper without tearing their hair out! Nice NSV! Mom will be in 'shock and awe'! Have fun! -BG

Wow! Manic phase induced by Lap Band? That's a new one! If I were your DW I'd be having you get that kitchen done QUICK before this wears off!!!! ...or maybe she bought the big bottle and this will last awhile.... -
Trell- I was poking fun at those people who try to get famous or rich by seeing Jesus in potato chips (which I think is crazy/wrong), not Jesus...and I don't think this is what "taking the Lord's name in vain" means. Sorry if you were offended. I embrace everyone's religions/no religion. I'm a believer and my family is involved in church and I can laugh about people who try to get famous by seeing the Lord on a piece of toast or cheese doodle for sale on eBay. You really need to get a sense of humor and learn a little tolerance of others opinions...it comes across as religious intolerance. JMO

LOL! Enjoyed the blog! I've also found humor is the best defense at the doctors office! -BG

DH said I should have told the PT guy "We only have one T-shirt...that's why we have to take turns here." See...I knew I married him for his sense of humor! JA- OK?...nope, forgot there were other OSU's...LOL! We both graduated from Ohio State University (met there)...we're just north of Pittsburgh now. But we can still be neighbors! KS...bet you have some ruby slippers too! Oh forgot...band...late April (pipe dream) or early May.

Just wanted to say an "official" Welcome to LBT! I'd just suggest you so a seperate thread for your question (maybe on the Doctors/Hospital or pre-op forums). Just go to the proper forum and click 'start a thread' at the top and put info in the title like the person here did. You'll get lots more exposure that way and might get an answer to your question (no one will see it here...they'll only see the original post unless they click on it. I only saw it because I'd already answered this thread). I believe there's also a 'group' you can join in the UK (under forums, groups). Good luck! -BG -

Um...what they said (couldn't say it any better):-) Just wanted to add one thing from a pre-bander perspective. I know there's going to be a long period after banding that they call "bandster hell"...no restriction, can't eat much or you'll stretch the pouch, wickedly hungry, might even gain weight...there's no "tool" to help during this period, it's all up to you. It didn't take much reading here to figure this out. I'm being banded by early May and although it might be sooner, I'm not counting on my band to really help/get to the 'sweet spot' until the holidays (for some it's a year of fills/unfills). There's also a lot of info. here on how to avoid PB's as much as you can. I just think you need to re-look at your expectations for when/what the LB will do for you. You've got a great opportunity to make some changes that you've obviously wanted. The tool is in you and with some patience and hard work you CAN get the results. Good luck. -BG -
Good luck tomorrow and let us know how everything went (when you're feeling up to it)! -BG
