I'm still crying. This is a long journey... I thought I would just have the surgery and viola the weight would drop off. It is a struggle with one thing or another every day. I have no regrets BUT it is trying my patience and taking longer than I thought it would. Good luck...just try to take everything one day at a time.

Thank god for Papaya enzyme and aloe vera...and thanks Kathy, too!!
housecatgirl replied to housecatgirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi all, I went on liquids with aloe for 24 hours and yesterday afternoon I was able to get a bowl of mash potato and gravy down and then last night we went to a friends house for a BBQ and I was able to get a bite each of hamburger meat, chicken, salad, and pie...my friends looked at me kinda weird and I think they thought I didn't like it but I said I was on a diet and my son is a growing boy and sorta blew it off like that... This morning the water/aloe is gurgling down. I think I am going to stick mostly to liquids again today. -
Pinky-I had a leg cramp last night, too. It actually woke me up. I just started working out at Curves but I don't think I am over doing it yet. I know what you mean though...it's sorta how we are with food...we don't think it's enough and want more.:puke:

I have been feeling stuck since yesterday.:cry I got my third fill on Weds. Prior to that one I had no restriction. They gave me .5 cc. Later that night I had some Tomato soup and felt ok. Yesterday I tried some thicker potato/bacon soup and had the worst pain in my chest.:bolt: Then later last night I had one chicken soft taco and I thought I was going to die...ended up pb'ing but still had the tightness in my chest even after the pb.:omg: This morning I got some coffee at my local coffee shop and they had some bananna bread that looked soooo good. I was feeling better and I thought maybe I could "prime" my band with the coffee and then eat the bananna bread. WRONG!!!! I ended up screaming at myself in the car like a lunatic, "NO BREAD...Damn it NO BREAD" :faint: all the way home. The pain in my chest didn't go away until a few minutes ago. I decided to take Kathy's advice and go get some aloe vera juice.:puke: The one I got at a local health food store is made by Lily of the Desert and it's supposed to be specifically a stomach formula concentrate. I also got the papaya enzymes. Well, I took it all at the same time so I don't know if one works better than the other but I feel alot better now!!:clap2: Thanks again Kathy. I would appreciate any food suggestions for the next few days. Even the soups give me some tightening in my chest. Is this normal? I hope I'm not too tight. <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

You are too tight when ______????????
housecatgirl replied to housecatgirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well, this morning I am just sipping hot water with a capful of aloe concentrate. It is just gurgling its way down. I am thinking about trying some yogurt in a little while. -

Ok, I can swallow my own spit but water is making my chest hurt a little. It may be because I tried to eat too much after my last fill though and now I have an irritated stoma. I will be doing liquids for a few days... -

Thanks, I am sipping some aloe mixed with water right now and it is sorta gurgling it's way down. I still feel that tightness in my chest even when I'm just drinking water. However, it wasn't that bad with just water on Weds. so I probably just have an irritated stoma right now and need to stick with liquids for a few days. My TOM is coming in a few days too so maybe I need to see how things are after that.:puke: -

I also joined Curves last week after looking at two other Curves wanna-be's in my area. I am happy, so far.

Yes, my husband is asian, as is my mother in law. She thought I was crazy when I started hugging her goodbye after a visit. Now she's used to me. I really don't think they are trying to be disrespectful by laying it on the counter...I think it's just the opposite...they probably think you would be uncomfortable with it being placed in your hand. Oh and it's not because you're not asian they are that way with eachother, too.

Ummmm...sounds good I'm on my way to Wal-mart now.

I have heard the more you drink the thirstier you get until you are drinking the right amount for your body. Must be true. Oprah sounds good....who is working on that?

Hey Junbies, Just checking in with you all. It looks like everyone is doing so good. I have been having some challenges with not enough restriction but had my third fill today so hopefully that will do it for awhile. Barbara: Congrats on getting the water down...that's another big challenge for me. Leila: So glad to hear it's not cancer!! At least you won't have to worry about periods and birth control anymore. I think that's a problem for me too. I swear my birth control makes it so much harder to lose this weight!

I'm loose as a goose....did the wine kill my band??
housecatgirl replied to housecatgirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Faybie, Thanks again for responding. Nope, I didn't throw up BUT I know throwing up is really bad because you could slip the band. I just learned that I was really irresponsible for drinking so much and losing control of myself...I'm just sorta still beating myself up about that. I didn't really know for sure what happened but I was pretty sure I didn't throw up. I just feel like us bandsters need to know all the time what we are doing because if I had slipped my band I wouldn't really know if it was something I ate or did, etc. -

Quick update...I did not slip my band. Although I learned that I need to watch the alcohol consumption alot more carefully now and be more responsible. I am now at 3.4 cc in a 4 cc band. Of course, I still don't know if I have restriction since I am on liquids. Thanks for reading for those who care and thanks Faybie for your response. -
Last night I went to Panda Express and got the 2-item combo with rice and noodles. I ate the whole thing and could have eaten more. This morning I can barely get down a hard boiled egg without the tight feeling in my chest. I have never pb'd. Sometimes I get a tight feeling in my chest and if I stop eating for a few minutes I can usually start right back up again and eat whatever I want. I am eating less than I did before but not by much. My fear is that I don't want to get too tight and have a band slippage but I'm not losing weight so wtf am I supposed to do?? I am getting frustrated with the whole process. I have had 2 fills and am filled to 2.9 in a 4 cc band. What happens if I max out in cc's?:tired Any advice?

Help!!!!! Do I need a fill???
housecatgirl replied to housecatgirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sorry, I couldn't tell I needed to shorten my sig because my monitor is huge. Is it better now? Thanks for the helpful info. -
Well, alot of factors here...are you losing weight? Is it less than you ate before? Is it a foot long piled high deal or PBJ on whole wheat?
-
Ok, I am realizing that I cannot lose this weight with the band alone. I was thinking before I got the band that the pounds would just melt off magically if I ate less. Well, I am eating less and they are still here (minus the original 10 I lost during post op). Sooooo, I am off to try one of these Gyms today.:clap2: I looked into all of them and they seem to be the same.:welldoneclap: Any insight?? Thanks!

Slender Lady, Liberty Fitness or Curves???
housecatgirl replied to housecatgirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks for the replies. I worked out for the first time in months today, twice!! First I went to Curves in the morning then Liberty Fitness in the afternoon. I have to say (although it was afternoon and I was probably more tired anyway) Liberty Fitness was harder than Curves. They have a dial for the resistence and Curves doesn't. I do think after awhile the resistence would get easy at Curves since it wasn't that difficult today. I have a one week pass at both but I think I am going to do them consecutively starting with Liberty so I don't burn out.:rolleyes I thought it may be helpful to post the differences in case others are looking into multiple gyms like these as well. -
4th fill. Am I doing this wrong? Is there a sweet spot?
housecatgirl replied to SRaeM's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have the same issue. I have a 4 cc band with 2.9 cc and I can eat anything if I chew well enough. Once in a while I get a little chest tightness that feels a bit uncomfortable but it usually passes after a few minutes and I can just keep eating. -
Glad to hear you are home. Take it easy and don't try to rush your recovery. You are still in our thoughts.
