I just made it below 150!!!!
housecatgirl replied to housecatgirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow, Woodys! You were banded just before me and you have lost so much more. Please share your suggestions, too!! -
:clap2: I weighed this morning and I am happy to say I am below 150. 149 to be exact. I haven't been this weight since my wedding day. This is my first goal and I made it!! Now hopefully I can keep going to my goal. It's been quite a few years since I got past this mark but I feel alot more empowered this time.:girl_hug: On a different note, I was actually able to eat a little more than usual last night. For the past few days I have been having trouble with everything...even water. So, last night was my girlfriends wedding and then reception. I was so afraid to eat since it was a very elegant country club setting. I started with a salad about 6 bandster bites which = 2 of the "old me" bites. Then, about the same for my salmon.:hungry: The salmon was served with white rice which of course I didn't touch. Maybe I was sitting up straighter than usual or maybe it was alot of talking between bites. I did feel slightly stuck at one point but I just kindly excused myself from the table and strolled to the bathroom. I think just the walk helped move things along so no pb. I just freshened my makeup and returned to the table. I also don't think anyone at the table noticed how little I ate.:juggle: I did suck down two Lemon Drop Martini's before dinner. Do you think maybe that relaxed my band a bit? Anyway, thanks to all for your support. Next goal 120 which I would love to make by my anniversary March 30. I think that is reasonable. It would be nice if it came sooner but I don't want to set myself up for failure.

Sorry, but I disagree, my lap-band procedure was way more painful than my boob job. I had implants almost 14 years ago so maybe I just don't remember but I was out at a restaurant the next night and flew home 2 nights after from Utah to CA. I would say, from what I remember, it's about the same or easier.

Pinky, Here are my stats even though because of my lack of water I probably don't qualify.... Days at 1200 calories or less: 7 Days drinking 64 ounces or more of water: 0 Days of 30 minutes of exercise: 6 days of 45 min each
-
socalgal3, That is exactly what I am going through and I don't think it's normal at all. I even have trouble with liquids sometimes feeling stuck in my chest. Most days I maybe take in 300 calories-max. I would be winning this challenge if I could drink my water but I am lucky if I can finish one of those 24 oz sport bottles in a day.:faint: I am, however, exercising 5-6 days a week and I have more energy than I had before being banded.:clap2: I no longer have back and neck pain. I am getting my liquid vitamins in and my hair and nails are as healthy as they have ever been.

Wow, your dog does look like my cat. That is actually not my cat...I just snagged it off the internet. BUT, I have a persian cat that looks exactly like that. -
Yup, health issues, especially that one, is a big reason to get the band! We all want to look good but it's way more important to be in good health and nobody that is overweight is healthy. Even if there are no signs of bad health if we stay overweight it will eventually catch up to us.

Yeahhhh, Barbara, Terry and Regina.:clap2: It sounds like we are all on track. Just when I thought I could get food down in the evening I pb'd last night. Oh well, I was probably eating too fast. My hubby has been great, too. He told me if I lost enough weight I could be "world class" last night. "World class" I'm not sure what that is supposed to mean???:phanvan But he said it in a positive way so it's a start. He never says your beautiful or anything in the last 7 years i've known him.

Pinky, It is my goal to go back to personal training.:rolleyes I would also like to get my nutritionist certification. I would even love to counsel banding patients. BUT, I will wait for all of that until I get to my goal. I am still learning so much and I am still so new, as we all are. I thought I did my homework. I am one of those people that research things day and night before I make a decision but some things are unique to each of us and therefore we must learn on our own.:phanvan To all Junebies: Thanks again for your continued support! JUNEBIES ROCK!! I am almost 1/2 way there! Yeeaahhh!!!:clap2:

Carlene, Your post hit home (for alot of us I am sure)! One day I feel too tight and then bam I can eat the next day. Although, even when I can eat it's only a few bites. Oh well, I am losing weight! -
I posted this on it's own post but thought I'd post it here since some of you might miss it. I am having trouble getting all my water down since my band is still kinda tight which is why I am not doing the challenge. I am getting 5-6 days of exercise in though and staying well below the calorie requirement. :clap2: I weighed this morning and I am happy to say I am below 150. 149 to be exact. I haven't been this weight since my wedding day. This is my first goal and I made it!! Now hopefully I can keep going to my goal. Hi IckiVicki, I am in Canyon Hills near Cayon Lake. A couple of us meet once in a while...two come from Murrieta. If you would like I can let you know the next time so you can join us.
-
I haven't but you can do a search to see who has. From what I remember you are either so tight you can't keep your own spit down or loose as a goose and can eat everything in site.

I am sooooo excited!!:clap2: I just met with my Cookie Lee jewelry rep today and got my Ghostly gift receiver some jewelry!!:kiss I hope she likes it...it's not really Halloween themed but I thought who doesn't want a little bling?? I am a Cookie Lee lover...their jewelry lasts forever if you take care of it. I'm sending it out today 'cuz I just can't wait. I am one of those people that have a hard time hanging onto Christmas gifts...I end up giving them early.

I am soooo happy to say Sushi goes down great for me. I was afraid to try it, especially at a restaurant but we went out tonight and I ordered the Sashimi (just fish...no rice!!) and took small bites and was able to eat three pieces.:hungry:

What about the Mexicoach lot?? I drive a relatively new Mercedes and I always park there. The only problem I've had is one time someone spilled something sticky on the passenger window/door area.

socalgal3, me too!! I feel I need to vent more, too.:paranoid I'm not single but I may as well be. My husband works in OC and we live in Riverside County (about an hour away). he gets home around 8 or 9 every night.:cry Our marriage is good but sadly it's probably 'cuz we never really see eachother except in bed and weekends when he's not working some more... He tries to be supportive but he works so much I don't want to burden him with my lapband problems so here I am to burden you guys!:faint: Maybe you should tell your trainer you have the band...'cuz it sounds to me that your food part is under control. She probably wouldn't need you to log your food if she knew that. Many moons ago I was a trainer and I would ask my overweight clients to log their food 'cuz it was usually 50% or more of the problem. For me, exercise has never really been the issue but over eating and having no idea at the end of the day what I put in my mouth was so logging seemed logical but I wouldn't need to now...I am more than aware what I am eating now since I am so limited on when/what I can eat.

What is your current fill in your 4cc band?
housecatgirl replied to Paulax's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Sharon, I have 3.2 in my 4cc band. I think it is resolving itself. Are you ok with water or other liquid? If so, you might want to try mushies until you loosen up a bit. Do you go on liquids for 24hrs. every time after you pb? You might just be swollen from the frequesnt pb's. -

housecatgirl replied to Paulax's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Be careful, I just recently had an unfill due to having trouble...even with liquids. I was so scared of slipping my band by being too tight. I am finally at the point of being able to drink late morning and eat late afternoon...eraser sized bites but it is finally staying down just the past few days and that's even with the small unfill! -
You can handle the rice?? I had the Sashimi (just the fish) alot of places have a seafood salad, too. Which is just chopped up sashimi (different kinds of fish) or another of my favorites is Tuna Tataki (seared tuna). All are no carbs and pure healthy protein....yum!!

Anyone out there have trouble with consumption too much alcohol
housecatgirl replied to juliegeraci's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
alchohol doesn't taste the same for me anymore! It's weird but I think because I feel alot of restriction...it tastes different. -
Socalgal3, You are so lucky girl!:clap2: I really think you have good restriction. I can't eat until evening and even liquids are still uncomfortable, although I can usually keep them down. One suggestion...we had breakfast for dinner last night because I have been craving scrambled eggs. It was yummy! If you miss the cereal/apple, maybe you could have it for lunch or dinner sometime. If it's a nutritional concern...a protein shake whenever you can get it down should do it.:biggrin1:
