FYI, the water park isn't far from you in Erie  That is where I am from. Its been so cold there lately we may just stick to the regular amusement park, they have reconstructed an old coaster that I want to ride.

For those of you in Facebook, I have created a very simple "flair" that says Onederland and then under 200 lbs. Its in red with a yellow background. Flair is easy to make, but if you want mine, look me up Bill McCall - Columbus, Ohio

I've mentioned here before that my current goal is a somewhat Arbitrary one based on how I felt when I last weighed that. I have a real chance of making that goal soon. To get to a normal BMI of 24.9 I would have to lose another 10-12 pounds. So I've done more reading about BMI and it does say that it is an estimate and to consider other factors. One factor was for males a waist line of over 40" is risky. I'm 36" High blood pressure - Mine's now normal High Sugar, HDL, LDL levels are also factors. I'm finally normal in all of those. I think when I reach the goal, I am going to leave it there, and make sure I don't go above. That will especially be hard this winter. Next year, I plan on stepping up the running to a higher level and we will see what happens from there.

I think your are right, thanks. I think once reaching the goal I am going to work on losing a little more gut via exercise. Its far better than it was, but clearly the thing on my body that looks the most like an overweight area. If toning that up changes my weight one way or another so be it. But I think I will try to stay below 200.

I think the fun we are having is because this is a question that should be asked of the doctor, as the nurse pointed out I believe. -

It looks great, especially when you haven't been there in 21 years. -

Congratulations, I know how good it feels to make a goal, and to announce it here, so again my congratulations. Feel free to let us know about the next goal, says the guy who is very close to his next one :bored: -
Can I have unprotected sex?

I'm 7 months post op, can I have a 3 some with Scandinavian twin sisters? If yes, can you fine them for me? Sorry, bad day at work, had to act out and this seemed like a good target. I'm back to normal now. Thanks. -
My port has become fairly promient, having a hairy stomach helps conceal it along with the scars, but if you look close enough, and very few people do, it is noticable. I may go to my first water park late next month.

Have you noticed that your palate has changed?
BillOh replied to cookiebaby's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How about dark chocolate? That is how I satisfy that urge. I include two dove-mini-dark chocolates in my bag every day. One for 10am and one for 2pm. -
"doesn't look like you're losing any weight"

My wife and I are both amazed, at the things people say regarding what we have done. Between us I think we could write a pretty funny book of the idiotic things people have said to us. The worst ones are the ones that one take the hint to STFU. -
I looked at my driver's license today. I'm 50 pounds under what it says. I believe that puts me in a minority. Too bad I have a year to renew it.

If I can handle this, I can handle anything

Part of what drove my wife and myself into obesity is the Buffalo Wing. If you want to see part of my obession about wings, go to columbuswings.com. I have been thinking since surgery about my wing website and the great pleasure it was brought us. I am a judge at an annual wing festival and even travel to the national festival, and the Anchor bar every year. This year the judging and the wing event came the same week and my annual golf, hooters, Cininnati Reds game with my friends. Going into this week, I came very close to my goal. Going out of this week I can say I had a wonderul week and enjoyed everything and did not gain weight. Using the things I have learned up to this point has helped me and I can say that I no longer fear going into maintenance mode and gaining it all back. I can work hard, see the rewards and still enjoy life. -
In case I wasn't clear, they like you to move around frequently to avoid blood clots.

Slamming through the Onderland border
BillOh posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The last month or two, I've been losing about .5 lb per week. I hit 201 June 13th, but put on 4 pounds on my 5oth birthday, it took me almost a month to get back to 201. Yesterday, I suddenly lost 2 pounds in one day and slammed through the 200 pound barrier. It took just under 7 months from surgery date, but I'm here. The last time I was under 200 was 1988. I'm hoping within 2 weeks to be at my goal. -

Go yourself, but thanks. From a bmi of 40 to 22 in a year? When I get to my goal of 195, that will be a bmi of 25, I may just try to hold it awhile. For me to get to 24 or the top end of normal would be another 10-12 pounds. If I try to run a 1/2 marathon next year, that may happen by itself, but I think over the winter I will work on maintaining. -
I had to make a 4 hour drive 8 days after surgery. I felt fine. The doctor said to stop every hour and walk for a few minutes. If I were you, I would talk to the people at the airline and let them know your situation and make sure you get an aisle seat. Perhaps your doctor can even provide a note.

Damm, I missed it, I guess weight loss surgery doesn't help short term memory at all. -
cruise food suggestions
BillOh replied to gatorgal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Which cruise line? We are loyal to Royal Caribbean. We went on our first post surgery cruise in April and found lots of good choices and actually quite well. That included hitting the gym and running track. -

Its a slow day here, am I was sitting here thinking. I was 225 when I got married 28 years ago. I use to travel a lot and when I got down to 195, I'm thinking this was 1985 or so, I was in Missouri and I noticed my wedding ring was missing and I suspected it came off while I slept. (Ladies, this is the truth) I was lucky and did go back to the hotel room and was able to find it in the bed. I'm getting close to getting back to that weight and I see my ring is very loose. I'll have to look into one of those ring guards. Just thought I would mention it in case it saves someone from losing a more expensive piece of jewelry.
-
At least now you have thought of it before then. While my ring is an ultra cheap band, its the one I put on when I got married 28 years ago, you can't replace that.
