  1. Hey Shaggs. Well this is it your last weekend before the op. Remember the big picture. I found it really easy to stick to pre op diet on the weekend before coz I knew I was nearly there. I feel great now. I popped into my work today to say high to everyone and everyone was saying how greatn I looked. There are people there that don't know why I have been off and were asking how I had lost weight (It felt good). Still don't want to eat I had a bit of sheppards pie last night and that took me nearly 1/2 an hour to eat 1/2 a bowl (hubby thought that was funny). Find I get really full quickly. You will do great and don't panic trust me it is a breeze. Sunshine23 xxx:thumbup:
  2. Hey, Well its day 10 after surgery and apart from being allegic to the plasters that were on my wounds I feel great. I am now allowed puree foods mmmmmm. Just had scrambled eggs (it felt strange eating). Shaggs you have nothing to worry about. I went into a panic over the weekend before I had mine done but then I calmed down and looked forward to it all. When I got to the hospital I could not wait to get it done. You will be fine. Will be thinking of you Sunshine23 xx
  3. OK this might seem like a stupid question but what do I take to the hospital with me on Tuesday ? Sunshine23:thumbup:

    What to take to hospital

Hey Tas Are you as nervous as me. I keep telling my hubby I am not going (I am really I haven't suffered optoslop for 2 weeks for no reason). I have the same stuff as you. My dieticien also told me to get some low fat custard and yogurts as well. I am so looking forward to a cup of coffee. I don't know how but I did not cheat at all on the optislop. I can't wait until I never see that stuff again. Good Luck tomorrow Tas and take care. Good luck to anyone else that is due in the near future. Sunshine23:thumbup:

Advice needed for a pre op!

Hey Tas, How are you going? Did you make it through the weekend ok ? I must admit I had a bad day on Friday, I could have packed it in but I didn't. Today I feel fine I find that I am not hungary it is the thought of eating something solid and Savoury that I have to get over. We are on the downward road now only 7 days to go. Woo Hoo. I have lost 12 kilo's so far and have to go to the surgeon on Friday to get weighed so he should be pleased, He only wanted me to loose 8. Keep thinking positive. Sunshine23:thumbup:

Hey Tas, Stick in there. I started the optifast on the 3rd or Jan with 2 optifast and a careful meal, then on Monday I started the 3 optifast and I have lost 9 kilo's already. The optifast does get better. I am not saying that I don't want to eat coz I do but keep remembering the big picture. We only have 12 days left we can do it !!!!!! Sunshine23:thumbup:

Hey Tas, Went well with the dietician. She was quite pleased as I have lost just on 5 kilo's. She said that even though Xmas was coming try not to go silly and try to get some walking and swimming done. I have to start the Optifast on the 13th of January. Not really looking forward to that. But it is only for 2 weeks before the op so I will deal with it. I finish work tomorrow until the 5th of Jan and I am going to have 2 shakes a day from then and them go to the 3 shakes from the 13th of Jan. Don't worry about your visit you will be fine they are really nice. Have a great Xmas Sunshine23:thumbup:

I see the dietician this Thursday. At the moment I am having 2 Optifast a day and a normal meal at night and the odd bottle of wine. I have lost about 5 kilos so far. I have to do the full optifast for 2 weeks before. It will be worth it though. Good luck with yours Sunshine23:thumbup:

I had to wait 12 months for my health insurance to kick in but at least I know that I am not doing this on a whim. I have done plenty or research on the past 12 months and think this is the best solution for me. I am lucky as my GP is really behind me and is giving me loads of support as is my hubby and the rest of the family. I think it is really important to have a good support network behind you. This sight is really good I have been lurking around for the this site for the past 3 months and have found some of the advice invaluable. You sound as if you are doing really well, keep up the good work. Sunshine23

    New to this

First of all I would like to say hi to everyone. I have been reading the threads and would like to day congratulations to all of you for loosing the weight. I had my first consultation today and are booked into the dietician and psyclogist for the 20th of November. What does the psycologist do and talk about ? What does the dietician talk about ? Any help with all this would be appreciated. Sunshine23:thumbup:
