Hey Lou, I am loosing about a kilo a week at the moment. Like everyone else I was impatient and wanted to loose 50kg in a month but it does not happen like that. I have now steadied my weight loss and my surgeon is really pleased with my progress. I mainly eat what I want but in much smaller portions (if I want it I will have it) Not everything agrees with me though but you learn as you go along, funny thing is you may be able to eat one thing one day but not the next. I am also a lot more active now, as you loose the weight you will naturally become more active and that helps. One thing that I have learnt is not to wear a tight bra while eating its like having double restriction. I will admit that I have gone through the odd bad patch, but as my surgeon has said it is a learing curve and getting reeducated so make sure you keep up with your surgeon and dietician appointments they are invaluable. Hope this helps, let me know if you need any more info. Sunshine23

Hey Linny Yes I feel fantastic. I went to Thialand a month ago and did not need the seat belt extention on the plane and that was a fantastic feeling. Also my hubby says he cannot believe the difference in me. I was climbing up and down stairs and getting into junkets in the middle of bangkok of which I would never have done in the past I feel fantastic and cannot wait to get another 30kg off. Leah I agree Yay us I was a size 26 and struggling and am getting into a 20 or 18 now The difference if unbeleivble and this is the best thing I have ever done. My goal was to get into a size 18 that has now been revised to a 14 for now....

Hi, I am on the Gold Coast which is about 45 mins from Brisbane. My surgeon is great and the whole staff are really supportive. If you want any info let me know. Sunshine23

Hey Tully, Try not to let it bother you. Remember why you are getting this done and that it will all be over in a few weeks and you will be on the way to your new life. The surgeon is only being precautious. He needs to make sure the liver is not in the way the get the band around. You know that you have done the Optifast diet and just keep it up until you have the operation. Keep up the great work and loose the other 5 kg you can do it. Good luck with it all Sunshine23

Thanks.
I just seem to really have got stuck into this. Hubby is complaining coz of all the clothes that I have to buy lol. Things only fit me for about a month now. How are you doing ?

Firstly congratulations on making the decision to go back and get the band done. I to got banded mainly because my weight was ballooning out of control. I thought I may be able to loose 25-30 kg then just not put any weight back on. I was banded on the 27th Jan this year and have so far lost 25kg. All that in just 12 weeks. I have realised that I can loose as much weight as I want and go into those shops I have always wanted to. I have gone from a size 26 to a size 20 top and 22 bottoms. I always wanted just to get to an 18. That has now changed I want to be a size 12-14 and I know I can do it. If you need any help let us know. Sunshine23:tt2::rolleyes2:

Hi All, I need a bit of help. I am having trouble keeping any type of meat down. It keeps getting stuck. I think the problem is I am eating it to dry and to fast. I don't really get a lunch break at work and tend to eat food during meetings (today I was eating chicken and had to leave the meeting 3 times to bring the food back). I am thinking of going to the health food shop and getting some of that whey Protein to put in some smoothies so I can get protein and fruit down me. Does anyone have any suggestions, I have to admit it is getting me down a bit. Sunshine23

Well last night I had chicken with a bit of rice. The rice got a bit stuck I think and did not digest well. Got up this morning and all I wanted was a piece of toast and vegemite and yes it was white bread (toastie size) Well I did not even get 1/2 of it down when I had to run out of the shop and get it out. It got stuck, I did not like this. I spent the next hour walking around trying to get this stuck bread out of me. Worst of all I had just nipped out of work to get the toast. So I went missing for an hour getting this bread out of me. I have got to say it has scared me and I do not want this to happen again so will not be eating white bread. I now feel sore and could not go to the gym tonight. So I am feeling sorry for myself. Sunshine23:sad:

Yep it really is that easy. As long as your insurance is past the 12 month waiting period you will be fine. Good luck with the surgery, it will be the best thing that you have done. Sunshine23:thumbup:

Thanks for the support. I am feeling better now. It was a stupid thing to do. The only other thing I can't eat is cold chicken. I am fine with hot chicken its just the cold stuff that affects me. Hope you are both doing well. Sunshine:smile2:

Hey Shaggs, How is it all going ? Don't panic about the wine and the nibbles we do that on a Sunday with friends. I to struggle so you are not the only one. I tend to make myself diet cordial and have it in a wine glass sounds stupid but it works. I do have to odd glass of wine now so it is not so bad. As I keep saying remember the big picture and stick in there. Sunshine23:thumbup: -
I live in QLD. I have 2 bags of clothes I would like to donate to the fire victims. How do we get them there ? Sunshine23

Hey All, Well I am back from having my banding done and I have got to say that it was not as bad as I thought. I feel a sore at the moment but that is to be expected. Everything went well and my surgeon did a hernia repair as well. So now it is down to the serious business. Tas I hope all went well for you as well. Sunshine23:thumbup:
