  1. Riley, I remember Liz talking about "fast trackers" and I came home that day and told my hubby there was no way this was gonna take me 6-12 months and that I was gonna be one of the people that were on the "fast track". I'm so proud that I did it and will do what I set out to do! I would love to come see you on the 23rd! Do you think you'll be up for a visitor just a couple ours out of surgery? Do they allow visitors? I guess they do, if you can have family come with you for surgery. That would be awesome to see you on the big day! Did they schedule your pre-op classes before you went to your CM appt or at the end of the CM appt? That would be so cool if they'd schedule them now so we could get them done possibly before the CM appt and our surgery dates could be set sooner. Do you know how often they have them the pre-op classes? I think I heard 2 times a month...
  2. Aw, you girls are the best! If you only knew that YOU all are my motivation! Knowing that you're all doing so well is what keeps me accountable and is a constant reminder that I'm doing this for ME. You're all such sweeties! SOOOOOO---today was a HUGE day for me! I weighed at home and was 269.6!!! UNDER my goal for the first time, yippee! So, I drove my soon-to-be-little butt on over to Kaiser and did a weight check and was 270.2 with clothes on! (Richmond told me as long I was 270.5 or under I was fine). As soon as I walked out the door I called Richmond and they looked up in the system to verify it and I got a crazy soon appt for 11 days from now, Monday Feb 23! I'm so freakin' excited, I now KNOW that this happening, and it's happening fast and soon! I'll have my CM appt 2 days shy of 3 months from my orientation class, I can't believe how much faster this journey has been instead of the 12-18 months they quoted me over the phone the day I got my orientation scheduled. I'm over the moon today! Thanks to all for your friendship and support. I know we're all gonna be a part of eachother's life for a long, long time.
  3. Also, I'm available any time on Thursday...we could either meet up to shop before lunch or meet at lunchtime and shop afterward for those that want to. My day is totally open so you guys that have older kids in school or jobs to sneak out of can pretty much decide when to meet!
  4. HOLY CRAP!!! I saw 270.4 today! Woo hoo hoo! I'm so excited, hopefully tomorrow I'll still be there (or better!) and will do my weight check at Kaiser. I called Richmond and asked what can my weight be to get a CM appt scheduled...if my goal is 270 do I have to be 270.0 or less? She said that as long as I was under 270.5 I'd be fine... I'm so excited but also nervous that I'll be up tomorrow. I've eaten really well today but have only had about 40 oz of Water...need to chug some from now til bedtime. I took a picture of the scale because it's taken so much to see it be this number! I started my "diet" on 12/1 so it took just about 9 weeks to lose 27.5 lbs. I'm so happy and proud of myself! Now I know how all you gals that are at goal felt on that day.
  5. Hey girls, would any of you be able/want to meet up next Thursday in Natomas? We can have lunch and maybe shop if anyone wants to (I do!). We thought that with people in Yuba city, Elk Grove, Sac, Suisun and Woodland that Natomas would be a good mid way meet up spot...plus there are TONS of restaurants and shopping there too! Whaddaya think?
  6. Lots of good stuff! Thanks for all the info. I bet this all seems so REAL now!
  7. Did she schedule your pre-op and nutrition classes? Or will she give you those dates when she schedules your surgery?
  8. That sounds like a great appt! I can't believe they're still scheduling in FEB!! What Feb date did she offer you? Sounds like everything's moving right along! I hope I can get in soon after hitting goal (hopefully this week I will hit goal) for the CM appt so I can possibly be in Feb or early March. This is so exciting for all of us! We're all getting so close. Congrats!
  9. Yeah, I'm not messin' around with these last few pre-surgery weigh ins! I mean business!
  10. DOOOOO IT! I did a weight check last week and wore a sundress (with a cardigan over it that I took off for the scale!) and socks (cuz I had sandals on). So all I had on was a sleeveless sundress, panties, bra and socks! They won't think you're crazy, Liz told us at orientation that everyone does it at the end. I bet your date will be mid-March!
  11. Reggie got Dr. Park, which is cool because between all of us I think we've got all 4 surgeons! Tina, just don't eat or drink anything until your appt and wear your lightest weight clothes possible and bring socks so you don't have to weigh with shoes on and I bet you'll be fine! I can't wait to hear all about your appt and see when your surgery will be. What surgeon do you have again?
  12. You'll be fine...just stay within your calories and drink all your water and you'll be great on Monday. Just wear the LIGHTEST clothing possible and bring socks if you're wearing sandals or you'll have to weigh with shoes on and that SUCKS. It happened to me and the dumb shoes added .8 lbs! Yeah, I'm hoping to be at goal plus another pound to account for my clothes when I go do my final weigh in by next Friday. It'll have to be a 3 lb week AND I'm supposed to start my period TODAY! It will be tough but hopefully I can do it. I'd love to have a CM appt within a couple weeks from next friday.
  13. I had the same problem with weight lifting too. We have a universal weight machine in the garage and I did it 3 times/week and gained 2 lbs. I'm sure that's a good gain, seeing as it was probably muscle building, but I don't have time for that! I wanna get to goal!! So I'm just doing lots of cardio and some resistance band stuff and saving the weights for after surgery.
  14. That can happen if you've been retaining water. Strangely enough, the more water you drink, the less you retain. Maybe you've upped the water in the last week and it's finally caught up with you...either way, YAY!
  15. First, I just have to correct you all on my name...it's ChristinE, not ChristinA. It happens all the time in real life too, lol! Liz said at orientaion that it's not based on a generic 10%, it's strictly up to the surgeon (NOT the cm) based on your body shape. She said that it's almost always 10% but can be more or less. My required surgery goal is 9%...close enough! I'm still gonna ask my surgeon about why he specifically said he'd waive the 2 pre-op classes. His words were "You're doing very well so far and I think you're gonna make great progress, so I will waive those 2 classes, you're on track and won't need them." I don't know what else to say about that...that's just what he told me. I can't imagine it's the first time he's ever told a patient that, and if he's said it before I'd assume that's what happened, otherwise the CM would've told him he can't waive those classes.
  16. Hey girls, I'm still here but have just been super busy lately. I'm still losing a pretty steady average of 3 lbs a week and have lost almost 24 lbs since 12/1. I'm only 3.4 lbs away from my surgery goal! I'm hoping to have my CM appt in a couple weeks and am crossing my fingers that Dr. Fisher is booking only a couple weeks for surgery....that would ROCK! I'm totally ready to have another lunch date! I'm available almost anytime, so lets try to plan one soon...maybe next week?
  17. C'mon Reggie...get back up, dust yourself off and start over again! You can do it, you are a strong deserving woman! I get the munchies before my period too but since orientation I've tried really hard to make those munchies be something like fruit or veggies or sometimes 4 M&M's...but only 4! I know you can do this, it seems like a long road to goal but it will get there and it will be so awesome to have a headstart before surgery with 30-ish pounds down! I just told my hubby tonight that I thought I'd never get to my goal and now I'm so close I can taste it! And it's only been 7 weeks! Would it help to have an accountability partner? I'd love to be there as a team and we could check in via email or phone once a day and make sure we're both still on track. We can make sure we're both working out and eating well. Let me know if you want to do that. Let's do this girl! (((hugs)))
  18. Riley, (and anyone else that's had a CM appt) did you bring a food journal with you? Are we supposed to?
  19. Thanks for the advice, Riley! I actually am kickin' butt already and am just excited to get to goal. I've lost 21.2 lbs in 7 weeks which is an average of 3 lbs a week...not too shabby! I also am journaling everything I eat and my workouts including how long and how many calories burned via my heart rate monitor. I love that thing! I just finished a turbo workout and burned 675 calories. I did 20 minutes on the bike and 60 on the treadmill. I'm gonna hop on the tready later tonight and walk during the 2 hours of biggest loser, but probably not at as much of a hard pace. I'm going with Nicole tomorrow for her CM appt and am going to do a weigh in at the bariatric dept. I was 291 the last time I was weighed there so it'll be nice to see at least a 15 lb difference, maybe more!
  20. OMG this is all so exciting! I'm so proud of everyone here...we're kickin' butt! It's great that they're scheduling surgeries only 3 weeks out right now, I hope that's the case when I get my surgery date. I've only got 6.6 lbs more to lose and then I'll be at goal. YIPPEE!
  21. Yay! I watched your video today but didn't make that connection that it was you until just now. I just put up my second video tonight. I'm gonna try to do a weight in update every Thursday and maybe one or two more during the week if there's anything relevant to share. I'm excited! This will be so fun.
  22. Since deciding to have Lapband surgery and starting the process of appointments and pre-op weight loss, I've been having a great time doing research and reading lots on this message board and watching YouTube videos. I was so surprised to find that there is such an active weight loss surgery community there. I decided that it would be fun to start my own channel to document my weight loss journey. It'll keep me motivated and will also be so awesome to see my progress once I have surgery, lose weight and reach my goal. If anyone here would like to check it out, here's the link: YouTube - swish's Channel If anyone has their OWN channel, will you post the link? I think it would be so fun to keep up with eachother's progress and help keep eachother motivated!
  23. Congrats on your surgery! Did you have RNY or Lapband? I'll have to check out your blog, and YES! Upload those videos girl, I wanna see 'em! You're doing great, keep up the good work.

  25. I commented on your other post too, but have you been following the 1200 calorie diet or started the process to lose any pre-op weight? The good news is that if you're losing the weight, by the time you meet with the surgeon you could probably be at pre-op goal and the time from that appt to surgery could be very quick!
