  1. Reggie has Dr. Park and really likes her. I'm sure all 4 surgeons are awesome!
  2. I'm sure lemon juice is fine, it's not like you're squirting the juice of 5 lemons on there. :smile2: The juice of 1 lemon is about 13 calories so you're good to go! CalorieKing - Diet and weight loss. Calorie Counter and more is one of my favorite websites and I was on it every day on the 1200 cal diet. I journaled everything I ate and this website really came in handy!
  3. Candra, last meeting they had name tags for us to wear and it made it so much easier to meet people! I look forward to meeting you. :smile2:
  4. It's from 11-1pm every 4th Saturday of the month. Hope to see ya there!
  5. Dr. Fisher is nuts! I hate it when people that don't even have a lapband think they know everything about it. You DO feel full faster, MUCH faster...that's why we only eat about 1/4-1/2 cup at a time. And it doesn't take head hunger away, that's true...we'll always crave stuff, but that doesn't necessarily mean that we're hungry. I feel like I'm getting hungry around meal time, but I'm not starving...just ready for a meal. I've never felt starving, Dr. Fisher is silly.
  6. Candi, did I say starting weight? Duh...I'm a dork. I see the starting weight, I meant your weigh on surgery day. I couldn't remember what it was, it's fun to keep track of post-op weight loss. I was SO bummed that Helen won and to be honest I was pretty shocked. She looked freaky too, WAY too skinny. I think she looked the best right when they left the ranch and she was 154 or something like that. See? There IS such a thing as being TOO skinny!!!
  7. Oh that's right...I don't know where I got 230 from. You should put it in your siggy so it's easier to keep track! Alright, I'm heading out to take Soph to my friend's house and then run some errands. See ya all at 1pm!
  8. Go Candi, you're doing great! 15 lbs down in 1 week? Weren't you 230 on surgery day? TURBO! See you all in a few hours!
  9. I was going to, but then my bff offered to watch her so that Soph and her daughter could have a playdate. Win-win!
  10. Riley it would be so fun to meet you! Here's the address to the Mimi's we're meeting at: 3511 NORTH FREEWAY BLVD., SACRAMENTO Hope to see you there! Call or text me if you need directions.
  11. What is Mike getting fitted for? Confused... I'm pretty sure I'm coming tomorrow, but I'll know more this evening.
  12. 1 works for me. Candi, call me if you want to talk. I felt exactly the same way, if it makes you feel better at least you know you're not crazy, lol. I missed "me" too, but I promise you'll find her SOON and you'll like her even better because she'll have a hella sexy ass.
  13. I also got kind of down feeling at about 2 weeks. Everyone that was able to eat pissed me off! I will be there, but I'll probably have Soph unless I can find a sitter before then. Candi, are you bringing Ty and Abbey?
  14. Oh geez, my license says 180! Bwahahahaha! But I probably won't change it next month when I renew mine cuz hopefully I'll be at 180 by the end of the year. I got a notice that I've renewed my license via mail the last 2 times and have to do this one in person and get a new pic. I'm excited about it though because my current pic is 8 years old and looks like crap! I'm about 30 lbs lighter already than my current pic so the new one will definitely look better than what I have right now!
  15. Uh oh, that sounds like how everyone describes what being too tight feels like. This makes me want to ask Dr. Baggs to be conservative with my fills. I'm freaked of being too tight!
  16. Oh crap, Nicole that sucks that you got stuck! Do you think you took too big of a bite or didn't chew well enough? That had to hurt. Good luck with the quitting smoking Zoe, that'll probably help speed up your weight loss too! I started soft foods this week AND started working out again and for some reason I gained and was 242.0 and was PISSED. Thank god today I weighed and am back down to 240.6 and am really relieved. That was my first little plateau and I didn't like it too much! I can't wait to be well into the 230's so I won't jump back into the 240's again. I've never left a decade and then gained back into it until now...that sucked big time! I'm hoping that next week when I get my fill I'll get another jump start and start losing a decent 2 lbs a week, possible more.
  17. swishbc

    Disneyland??

There's no way I could do that at one week out, that was the first day I had gone anywhere and all I did was go to Target for about 20 minutes and I was pooped!
  18. Hi Zoe, I think a helpful place for you to start would be this website: Official Site: the LAP-BAND® Adjustable Gastric Banding System for weight loss surgery This is the kind of band that Kaiser uses and we all have. It explains a lot of info from the pre-op to post-op life. It was really helpful for me in the beginning of my journey.
  19. Nicole, glad your fill went well. I'm looking forward to mine. Let us know when you find out how many cc's you got. Candy, DON'T puree chili yet! You're only 4 days out...wait at least another week before doing that, you could get bad heartburn, or worse. In a few days maybe you can puree clam chowder or potato chowder, something creamy but not too spicy or acidic. I had the best success with getting full from cream of wheat and yogurt, and after about 4-6 days on full liquids I started having 1/3 cup instead of 1/4. You'll know when you're full, you just won't be hungry anymore, it's a weird thing to feel "not hungry" after such a small amount of food. Hope you're all doing well!
  20. You're welcome sweetie! I'm glad we're all here for eachother. Tina, at the top of this page you'll see all the little headers (under the before and after polaroid pics under the banner) and the third one from the left says Chat. Just click it and away you'll go!
  21. Reggie, you'll be fine if you're on your period. You're only under anethesia for about an hour and you pee RIGHT before being walked back for surgery. Then they have you get up and pee within a couple hours after surgery. Dr Baggs told me to expect a period soon after surgery, that the trauma from surgery often forces an early period that can also last longer than normal. Luckily it didn't happen to me but sounds like it did for a couple you...that sucks. Zoe, do you live in Norcal or Socal? I know the 6 month classes are required in the Socal Kaiser system but not up here. I'm also sitting in a lovely plateau...same dang weight since last week. I haven't weighed in 2 days though and I'm hoping that tomorrow (my weight day before surgery) will show SOMETHING different. I know that if anything it's because I'm not eating ENOUGH calories and definitely not that I'm eating too much. I'll have to start adding more calories to my day.
  22. Oh that's interesting Tina! I wonder who was right? lol
  23. Tina, the good news about Kaiser is that they will ALWAYS offer Lapband after care, even if you're not with them anymore insurance wise. You WOULD have to pay out of pocket, but at least you would have the option and once you're at your sweet spot the office visits will only be about once a year, if that. Cool, huh? I found that out from Liz at my CM appt.
  24. You're right about the surgery being a very personal choice. I know people that have been successful AND unsuccessful with RNY and Lapband. My sister-in-law works with someone that had Lapband a couple years ago, lost over 100 lbs and now he has gained it all back and then some. Candy's hubby works with someone that had Lapband and also gained a lot back. I have a friend that has lost 140 lbs with RNY and is doing awesome (except that she's kinda bad with taking her vitamins) and also have another friend that lost 150 lbs and has gained back about 100. Any surgery can work or NOT work, it just all depends on the patient and their willingness to do the work that's required. There are many things that can prevent up from being successful in our journey and I remember at orientation that Robin was telling us about the "naughty" cheat things we can do that can prevent us from getting to goal. Every time she would mention one of these things she would say "PLEASE...don't be THAT person". I wrote that down in several places in my binder and keep reminding myself that I'm doing this for myself and I'm not going to sabotage myself...for once in my life! So, whatever surgery we choose, it's how we choose to live our new life that will determine our success. Let's all promise to ourselves and to eachother: I won't be THAT person.
  25. The reason we can't drink soda (ANY kind, not just coke...this includes anything that's carbonated--champagne, beer, soda, etc) is because the carbon dioxide in the soda will expand in our small pouch and can stretch it over time. Also, caffeine is a stimulant and can cause more hunger, and the caffeine is what can cause ulcers--not the carbonation. Tickerfactory.com is where I made my ticker. You put in all the info you want displayed and then when it's done you'll see the code for it. Just copy it and then come back here. Click on Edit CP (it's at the top left of this page), then Edit Signature. You can type whatever you want for you signature (name, starting weight, current weight, goal weight) and then paste the ticker code under the personal info you typed in. Then if you want you can preview it at the bottom (orange button) and then save it.
