  1. Just curious...does anyone know why we have to be on CLEAR liquids and can't have things like coffee w/cream or hot cocoa?

  3. My tummy is talking pretty loud too! I'm drinking water/Crystal Light and wishing it was cocoa or coffee... Riley, forgot to tell you at the appt but your hair is so so cute! I really love it on you...very flattering!
  4. Tamra--at our fill today they said that this 2 hour mandatory class is new. So at least you know that this is step 1 and you'll be officially started in the process and it's not just an info class... Our fill went well, there were about a dozen people there! I was kinda surprised...I was third to last called in for the fill (wanted Dr. Baggs to be nice and warmed up anyway!) and left at 12 noon. I had 6.5 cc's and he gave me .5 today so I have 7cc's in my 10cc band. I told him I always want to be on the conservative side of fills and that I've never PB'd, slimed, been stuck, thrown up, etc. and want it to STAY that way. He agreed. My next fill is only 3 weeks from tomorrow! July 17th at 9am. I'm glad that it's soon considering I may not feel a ton of restriction from this conservative fill. I was down 10 lbs from my last fill 6 weeks ago today and he was really happy about that. It was a good day and great to see Tina, Riley, Nicole and to meet Candra and Tina's daughter. Oh! Liz was there today too and did some of the fills, not mine though. I feel more comfortable with my surgeon doing it cuz I know he'll do it fast and right. I really like Liz though and it was fun to catch up with her again.
  5. Thanks girls! I think he looks like a totally different person. I can't wait for my change to be that drastic! I think he's pretty hot too and I LOVE him! Tina--you're talking about eating at noon tomorrow...you do know that we're supposed to be on liquids only for 24 hours after the fill, right? Maybe you're talking about liquids after the fill but I just wanted to make sure!

  7. Tamra--that looks like it's just a WLS info class and not an actual orientation. If I were you I'd email your primary care doctor and ask them to send a referral for you to the Bariatric department in Richmond so that you can start the process and go to the orientation there. I'm pretty sure you'll get almost the same info there as the "real" orientation but then you'll still have to do it in Richmond and that would suck! 8 hours of lecture when you only have to have 4!
  8. Sounds good Riley! Have you been to the Pinole building yet? Will you be coming on 80 West? If so, it's a no brainer!!! Take the Pinole Valley Road exit and turn right at the light. Then it's right there on the right hand side, it'll be the first thing you see! But call me if you need to for sure.
  9. Donna--I'm pretty sure I'll be there on Saturday...we'll see. We have a big family thing that afternoon so I just need to see if I'll have time to get there. I want to go though! Me and some of my family members are going to do a 5 or 10k in Davis in November.
  10. I'm starting C25K this week to prepare for the 5k or 10k I'll be doing in the Fall. (don't know which one I'll do...either run/walk the 10k or run the 5k). I'll let you know how it goes for me! I've been gearing up to start it for a couple weeks now with 3 min walk and 1 min run on the treadmill just to teach my body what jogging is like after all these years of not doing it, lol. I hope I like it! Speaking of working out, I'm just about to do that...my ball workout, followed by my arms video with 8 lb weights and then the bike for 30-45 minutes.   11. I'm here girls, just have been super busy with fun summer stuff and lots of weekends out of town. I'll be there on Thursday for the fill appt, I'm starting to be able to eat more (up to 1 1/2 cups) and am ready to get a little bit more restriction. I find that I fill up on the amount I'm supposed to, but sometimes I can LET myself eat more if I'm distracted or snacking. I've had a pretty great beginning to summer so far. I've gone to Six Flags 5 times and have gone on all the rides I've wanted to! I've started a MUCH more intense workout routine and am feeling so energetic. I have gone to the public pool 5 or 6 times and haven't batted an eye! I'm really loving my new body and have been SO much cooler so far too.

  13. Nicole! You should get a Brita water pitcher. That's what we did a couple of months ago. It's like $18 when it's on sale and then you can just fill up a cool plastic water bottle (they have cute ones at Target) and it's practically free! I highly recommend it. :sad:
  14. Reggie, my Dr said that I could take stool softeners as needed and that worked for me. It got so bad 1 week post-op that I had to use a glycerin suppository, but now I just take 2 stool softeners when it gets bad. (I've only had to do it a few times though). We're going to San Francisco tomorrow for an overnighter. Bri's work is taking us all to a comedy club to see Jamie Kennedy. Bri and I are gonna take a little cruise together in the bay under the bridges and have a nice dinner before the show. I'm gonna be a good girl and make myself very proud while on a little vacation!
  15. Candi--it's called self sabotage...I've been kinda doing it too. In the last 2 weeks we've had Soph's bday, my bday and our anniversary so there have been a few times where I've splurged, eaten a little too much, eaten naughty stuff, etc. You can start a fresh day tomorrow. Let's do it together!!! We should text each other throughout the day with what we've eaten--the bad AND the good! Nicole--are you doing the 5 day plateau buster diet? What day are you on? Looking forward to getting a fill on Thursday!
  16. This is bandster hell girls. We can't expect real restriction for a few fills! Everything we lose right now is pretty much due to sheer will power and portion control. It will happen though! In a few months I'm sure we'll all have great restriction and will be losing a steady 2-3 lbs a week!
  17. Hey girls, sorry I couldn't make it. Sophie was still off today and I didn't want to bring her and a) infect you all with a bug and :thumbdown: have her be grumpy when she just needed to hang at home today. We stayed home most of the day and did our nails, braided her hair, played with her new birthday toys and just had a mommy/Sophie day and it was great. It's funny that you guys are all eating salad with no problems because last weekend I tried to eat a chicken caesar salad and got ALMOST stuck after only eating about 5 pieces of the bite sized lettuce. I ended up only eating the chicken and 5 croutons and gave hubby the rest of the salad. There's no WAY I'm gonna go near a salad for a really long time now and I'm bummed cuz I miss salad so bad! Hope I can make the next meet up and I'm looking forward to the fill on the 25th. :laugh:
  18. I don't know if I'll be there...I'm playing it by ear. Bri and I went out tonight for our anniversary (14 years today!!!) and when we got home Sophie woke up and was thinking she was gonna be sick but just poo'd instead. But we were in and out of the bathroom about 6 times with her feeling yucky, I think it was because she needed to poo...but I wanna wait and see how she's feeling in the morning. I'm doing good with eating, haven't really had any head hunger lately although I am starting to feel ready for a fill. It's taking more to fill me up than it used to a few weeks ago. Don't count on me tomorrow, but I'll let you know for sure mid morning. Thanks!
  19. It was on Friday the 5th! :grouphug: Bri surprised me and planned a getaway to San Francisco and we left Friday morning. We walked around all day and just enjoyed people watching, sat by the water, walked probably about 6-7 miles. Then that night he took me to see Spamalot (broadway musical that's in SF for a couple months) and it was awesome! We had the most amazing view from our room on the 26th floor! It was the best trip we've ever had, I was totally surprised, it was so romantic and I had the most energy I've had in years!

I'm motivated by the way I feel, the new energy I have almost 24/7, the better sex I have with my hubby, the fun new clothes I can fit into and buy, the short term goals I make for myself so that I have something to look forward to every couple of months, the comments I get from my family and friends AND MORE! There's not much that DOESN'T keep me going! I'm so happy that I made this decision. I never second guessed it a single time and have had such a strong sense of knowing this was the best decision I could personally make for ME.
