removal of band due to reflux

I've been having a lot of reflux, started taking meds for it, I you could tell me what all you have tried to relieve the reflux I would appreciate it. I really don't want to remove the band and go with the bypass since I was a self pay patient. I had all the saline removed hoping to ease the problem, but it has not helped yet. -

On the site I found out that the SUMMIT is going to be in San Antonio, Tx on January 23 and 24 2009, the seminars take place on the 24th, and it's $50.00. There is also an agenda that you can download so you can plan your day for the talks. Looks like most are about 1hr long. This is the 5th annual summit, looks interesting I am planning on going. Even if you take just a few things from it, I think it would we worth 50 bucks and there are suppose to be vendors there as well so....maybe some free samples to take home. with 5 or 6 meals/snacks and we need to be drinking 64oz+ of water a day also, and with waiting 1hr before and after meals to drink, how is everyone getting all that done? What time are you starting your day?? I sometimes just snack for a meal also, but I am not satisfying my cravings. I'm not hungry, but I'm not satisfied either..any suggestions? also not dropping any weight. Thanks Texas -

I also read something about non-productive burping. How can you tell the difference in the two? -
PB'ing... Productive Burping. Is that what that means? Is this productive burping a good thing??? or something we don't want happening? And if it is a no no, why is it a no no? What causes it and how can we keep it from happening? I get the hiccups after I eat, and then in about 30 minutes or so I have a little burp or two. I just thought they went hand in hand. Anybody else asking these same questions? Also, why are we feeling the food go thru our stoma/band? Thought the idea was to keep the food in our small pouch to feel full? Help, I have sooooo many question,:biggrin: Texas

I got my first fill DEC 3, and I can't really say I get that full feeling either, maybe more today than a week ago, but not much at all. I've heard and read on different blogs it can take up to 2 weeks before it kicks in, and now I'm reading several fills...I too am ready to get that full and satisfied feeling after a meal, but until then, I try and limit my intake and tell myself I am full. I'm hoping that in another few weeks I get another fill and pray this one starts working for me. Good luck, Texas

I married one of the Red Devils "RD76". Mark Haney. Remember any of those guys? Frank Turnham, Stan Baggett, Byron Copeland, Greg Gann, Daniel Gunn, Gaylon McFall, Gary Copeland, class of 76. Roger Thiele is on a deer lease with my neighbor Stanley Hawkins, Mark was on there with them at one time I think, but we still go and visit every once in a while, small world huh? Stan Baggett put together a web page about the class of 76 and mexia blackcats. google it and you will probably find it. he is always posting stuff.. it's pretty good and will bring back memories i'm sure.

I go to see Karen Thiele Alexander at Guarranty Bank.. family friend. My sister married into the Teel family.. brothers are John and Rex...
Call Dr. Garwood, he's really nice. I've gotten 3 fills from him. He wants the band to work for you. Has lots of information and experience with fills..

Too funny, I'm from the Mexia/Groesbeck area. How long has it been since you were in the Mexia area? we are not far apart in age, Im 47. I bet we know each other, or at least the names. Melissa Haney ring a bell?
I will give Dr. Garwood a call next week and see if I can go in for a consult/visit, and see what he has to say.
