I too had one and didn't know until I woke up from surgery. My recovery was and still is longer. I'm two weeks post op and finally feeling much better.

I too was banded on the 22nd. I"m hanging in here. I think I Have more pain because of the hernea I had. I hope this time next week I'll be feeling better. Sounds like your post op directions are much more different than mine. I don't have a breathing thing or a corset. I just have to remember to take deep breaths. I still have lots of gas pain off and on. Mainly radiates through my chest my left shoulder area and my tummy. I have started having Esophagus spasms yesterday and that really hurts. I hope goes away very soon. You hang in there and know you're not alone and I enjoy hearing everyone's different experiences and such.

I'm home after staying the night in the hospital. I had a haital hernia. Gosh I hurt. Gas pains and one of the incisions hurts too. I constantly feel I have to cough but can't because it hurts to bad. I can feel stuff stuck in my throat too  But I've been walking, slowly but surely and I find it very hard to get in almost a gallon of water... I don't think I've succeeded in doing that yet. Hopefully soon though. I'm just glad it's over and done with.
