I agree many of these folks are younger. But it's never too late as far as I'm concerned. We older chicks could be better candidates 'cause we are ready for the real solution, ready to do the work and be our best. I subscribe to several threads and recommend them. On the fifties forum - there is a longstanding thread ("Hey, 50 and over gang..."). Great thread, many bandsters in all stages of the process. I also go to the mentoring thread (I know I will need a kick in the pants some days). It's called "I'm here to help..." thread starter is IndioGirl. She reached goal in a year and is a strong mentor. It's a great thread. Give these a try. Read back a few pages to get acquainted with the folks and continue on. You will catch up with everybody soon.
My date is Dec 4th - 16 days to go and 15 for you! We are beginning an incredible journey - how exciting it is to become a butterfly after all these years!

Joann, I am from Georgia and have a surgery date of Dec 3rd. Just looking for some friends that are older. Most people seem to be a lot younger that 50ish

Hey, I'm new here. My surgery date is December 3rd. Been working on this since May. I like the Holiday Hotties!! It is very encouraging. Is there anyone that is from Southeast Georgia or North Florida out there?

I am scheduled to be banded on Dec 3rd. Dr. Bowers and Dr. Lynch at Mayo in Jacksonville Florida are my surgeons. They require that you quit two months before. I tryed Chantix and it worked. It's a little expensive but not anymore than buying a pack or two a day. It's worth it.

Well, I am new to this site. I will be getting my Band on December 3rd, three days before my Bday. A little nervous about it but excited for this to happen. Can anyone tell me about shoulder pains. I have seen this several times on blogs and was just wondering what it was from. :thumbup:
