  1. This is the wrong section but this site is impossible to navigate, I'm just trying to find a place to post regarding email options and the newsletter we get sent. I rarely come to this site, haven't been on in years, but I keep having to log on lately to sort my email options, i'm repeatedly getting sent stuff clogging up my inbox when I've set my notifications NOT to get emails. Who ever is in charge of the newsletter, please FIX the broken link at the bottom that is supposed to unsubscribe you. Here is what it says: 'If you would like to permanently unsubscribe and stop receiving ALL emails from our organization click (here)' --->the link is dead! It's extremely annoying to have to come here and ask about this. Stop spamming me!
  2. Happy 25th Birthday egh909!

  3. Happy 24th Birthday egh909!

  4. 3 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 3rd Anniversary egh909!

  5. Sorry for the delayed reply. Yes I've never met another young person with the band in real life, other than a girl about my age I saw when I was having my unfill, it was quite a novelty. Going through this and being younger it can feel kind of isolating I find. Hope you keep in touch, let me know how you're doing!

  6. [cont] i didn't even notice your age, we are very similar! I don't know many other british young people (read: any!) with the band. I'm trying to glean some info about you from your page but it's pretty scarce haha- nice anonymity there- very aloof!

  7. I didn't know about increased risk of slippage- I'll ask tomorrow. I hate the idea of having to have two more surgeries (It will have to come out some time hey :(...) If they won't do it, I would try the balloon- but what would stop me regaining the weight after that came out as well. I just miss being slim and feeling attractive- from what you've said I can tell you understand that- thanks!

  8. Good luck with whatever you choose :)

  9. [cont.] place with it emotionally. But as you say, the desire to live as a slim person and the quality of life that comes with that almost makes it like there isn't a choice to be made, if the band can give you that, you'll do what you can to hold onto it. (btw I see we're around the same age, don't see many people on here banded young, maybe that's just me though I don't come on here loads)

  10. [cont.] I have read about the risk of slipping going up for people who have the band re-fitted though? Have you at all considered the balloon? I've heard very good stuff about that for people who have slipped. I'm sorry to hear you're struggling without the band, when I thought I'd slipped, I feared I'd gain my weight back at once. It's a day by day thing I find with eating, I'm still in a bad

  11. [cont.] much more difficult now, and I haven't found my experience with the band to be at all what I was expecting (e.g. never had a 'sweet spot') & I have been through the not being able to eat situation you describe though nowhere near so bad (poor you ending up in hospital! I know how terrifying the prospect of gaining back can be though, I fully understand why you'd want to try the band again)

  12. Ah right, well if you've got the fills inclusive for 2 years and that's your main concern, it does sound good, especially as you've had the experience with the band before and you know how to work with it. My surgery was absolutely fine with the HG, like I say though I would have liked more contact with them, more support, but I'm in a healthy bmi range now and maintaining, losing more weight is..

  13. [cont] I get inclusive fills for two years and that is what I'm mainly concerned with, I want to be able to ring their hotline if something feels wrong. I'm not interested in support groups, nutrition phonecalls etc. I know how to do this- so as long as I can get fills when I need them I'll be happy. Sorry 2 ramble! Have you been successful? The surgery was good- no problems? Thanks for reply :)

  14. [cont] to terms with the fact I can't control my own weight- I have regained a huge amount. It was a difficult decision but I hate myself so much like this and knowing how good life was when I was slim, i've decided to give it another go. I had a fill in Liverpool with the hospital group and they were great then and I live in Norwich now and there is a clinic here, it would be very convenient.

  15. [cont] found it nearly impossible to get aftercare here and so when it got to crisis point I didn't have anyone to turn to. I ended up in hospital, skeletal- and had my band removed in an emergency procedure at a spire hospital after a week in the Liverpool Royal (where they were convinced I had a tropical illness- not in fact as I kept suggesting, a slipped band). Anyway- I'm sad, but have come
