Hi, I am having trouble staying on the 10 day liquid pre-diet. Also, I'm almost sad to not eat candy out of the work candy dish - but I'm not eating it. I didn't realize how much that meant to me, which I find pretty weird. Unfortunately, although I'm not eating anything really bad, every day I eat something and I'm supposed to be on liquids - cottage cheese or a piece of low fat cheese. I have lost since Friday, but I just want to make sure I can do liquid before being banded on Feb 2, so the post op liquid 10 days will not be so hard. So yeah, I definately know what you mean!!!

I just noticed that last year's Feb 2008 group called themselves Victorious Valentines so maybe it would be good to use something else this year. How about back to 2009 Valentines? Or I like February Fireballs too . . . very bouncy sounding, like we're going to take off running!!! I don't know how to do a poll or I'd put one up - someone suggested doing a poll . . .

That sounds good to me . . . variation could be "Victorious 2009 Valentines" Either way, I like it!!!

We could use a Valentine theme, hmmmmm . . . "2009 Valentines" What do you all think?

Hi, I'm Feb 2 - I'm excited, nervous, worried . . . I have not gone shopping yet but I had my preop tests done this morning. I keep getting more and more ideas of what I'll need - tomorrow I'll be off to Trader Joes and other places!! The nurse told me today to bring a robe to hospital for walking the halls - I would not have thought of that!! I hate hospital gowns he he he!!

and how about this one - this morning I went for some pre-op testing and for the second time in a month, the nurse couldn't find a vein because my arms have gotten so fat. I won't miss this at all, hopefully the next time I have blood drawn my veins will show!!

Well, it all got approved and I'm scheduled on Monday, February 2. I have really struggled with the decision of what surgery to get - reading everything I can get my hands on and cruising this forum as well as OH. I have gone round and round, finally deciding on the lap band for the usual reasons . . . I am a little worried about five or more years out but will cross that bridge when I come to it. My DH doesn't really understand why I can't just excercise and watch what I eat. We have been together about four years so he missed all the ups and downs, he just arrived for the (hopefully) last up!!! After me talking about the details of the other available procedures during my research, he is absolutely on board with the band!!!

Hello my fellow Fab Feb Banders (he he he) I am scheduled for Monday, Feb. 2 in Chico. I start my pre-op liquid diet this Friday and also do the pre-op testing. I need to go shopping for all the 'supplies' - chewable vitamins, protein drinks, crystal light, etc. I better get busy, February 2 is approaching fast!!

Hello January Banders!! I'm not sure whether I'll be a January or February (my BD month) but I thought I'd say Hi anyway and send my best wishes to all of you!!

Hi, this is my first effort at 'blogging' so be kind . . . I'm going to try to keep track of my life since I decided to pursue a lapband. I live in Paradise CA, hence the cute headings, etc! I just found out today that my insurance wants more info so I'm giving my doctor more releases in hopes the insurance company accepts the additional information as 'enough'. I guess although I have sleep apnea and use a cpap, it's not 'bad' enough. I do remember that when I had the sleep study I took Ambian and they said I slept pretty long, which I guess watered down my score. My cpap setting is pretty high, but whatever they want I'll try to provide!! More later, it's getting late and I get up early so off to bed I go!! Bye for now . . .

Hello, this is my first post - I found this thread by searching on Chico CA. I am getting started in the process and I am interested in making contacts locally. Enloe's program is not yet on my insurance list (Anthem BC) but they say it will be within a month or two. Sounds like it is a good place, I have talked to them and have the paperwork. Let me know if a group is forming or anything, I'm interested!!
