hi all...i got banded one year ago now on 17th march.2009..i have lost a total of 33 pounds..im very pleased at this ..i know i could have lost a lot more if id given up the pints of bud..but those 33 pounds are really noticeable and i feel like a new woman..in this next year i will step things up with exercise and no alcohol during the week ..a treat at weekends... the food is manageable as restriction is great with 3 fills... roll on next year . good luck to you all

Hi All This is my first posting . I was banded last week 17th March (Hi Fatpants..fI'm the older lady in the bed opposite). I'm still feeling a bit sore but getting back to normal. I weighed myself yesterday and had lost 9 whole lbs...I know this is just the initial 'post op' loss but I'm delighted. I have had solid food like soft noodles and I have just had a small bowl of spag bol.... Don't think I could have stuck to tea and broth. Can't wait to get eating properly and healthily

Hi Fatpants Sorry to hear you're not feeling too good..some of the side effects are not very nice I agree. I dont think I have much restriction..I seem to be able to eat more than I should but not as much as pre op. Down a full stone this morning in 14 days..so pleased with that. Hope you are taking things easy in your recovery although life takes over doesnt it . I just keep picturing myself slim and with the long evenings coming in starting to exercise. When do you think is the right time to start say a 20 minute walk...maybe I will give it another week .

Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Hi Jewy et al, Yeah that was me ! How are you?? I'm still in stitches (ha ha) - stitches still there...should they not be dissolved by now(banded 17th )...I thought Dr Chris said only the port stitch may need removing by GP...please advise

Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Hi I would thoroughly recommend Dr Chris de Bruyne. I had my band fitted last week by him..Hospital spotless and he takes great care of you. cost 3900 euro..a big investment , but I'm so glad I have had it done. I was very dubious about travelling to Brussels with the money , I was terrified it was a scam but it all went well.Best of luck with it all
  8. Hi

ouch ! You are so right...I'm was getting complacent . Thanks for the good advice people...would hate anything to happen to band after investing so much into it - and its not only the money as you all know.Tammy - I'm dublingirl as in Dublin Ireland.

Feeling good and positive today. Hope you are all the same . Thanks again for the push in the right direction.
