Well, I am just about 4 weeks out. Dr says I can start bumping up activity level. I went for a fast walk for about an hour today even broke a sweat. Now i am paying for it. My tummy is sore and really swollen! Can I ask what everyone else did for exercise?

Beachbumnj, I used Dr Greg Greco. He has an office in Monmouth and one in NYC. I absolutly love him. He takes his time with you makes sure that you are comfortable with everything that he is going to do. I am a big baby when it come to pain and he made sure I was as comfortable after surgery as possible. I went for a consult and he pretty much told me what i "need". He did a TT, Arms and lipo of my trunk and legs. I will probably go back in the fall to half the "girls" lifted. I hope this helps. Any other questions just let me know.

How many of you had plastic surgery covered by insurance?
Momoof4 replied to blackcherry2002's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My insurance co covered it all. Only because I had the band. If i didn't have the band they wouldn't have covered it. They felt the paid for me to loose the weight with the band they will pay to take off the extra skin. I got really lucky! -
Do you need an unfill if you get a tummy tuck?
Momoof4 replied to blackcherry2002's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I had a revised port put in by LB surgeon during TT. During this time he took out 2cc from my band. 3 weeks later they refilled me. -
WHAT Am I doing wrong? :(

I think you need MORE calories not less. Especially since you are exercising. Try increasing your calories to 1000-1200 and see what happens. I know it is a constant challenge! Keep pushing through it, you are doing great! Good Luck! -
Sue, Have you or will you have any feeling loss in your nipples from the reduction surgery?
-
Yeah, thanks Marie! I didn't walk today but i am going to tommorrow. I think I will only do 30 mins. I was walking 20-30 mins before just not as fast. I guess I will keep the 30 mins and just increase the speed see how that goes! Swelling is better today.

All you Tummy Tuckers!!?? How long after surgery were you able to stand up completly straight! I am almost 2 weeks out and still huanched over a bit! One other question, how long did you wear the compression garment that you got from PS before you changed to a spanx like garment?
-
Will I ever stand up straight again?

lessofme, Good luck tomorow! I know how you feel about being nervous. I am the biggest baby when it comes to pain. I had a pain ball, a prescription for oxycotin and percocet. To be honest the pain ball was great. I took the oxy 2x a day for 4 days and never touched the percocet. The pain was not bad at all. I think i took the oxy more for the fear of the possible pain. I was never in any agony. I have to say it was much better than i thought it was going to be! My DH always says i make it worse for myself by worrying so much, hate to say it but he was right this time! Wasn't bad at all. Sue, thanks i was wondering if the spanx would be any more comfy. it looks like it would be harder to get on. my compression garment has zippers the spanx don't. I am 11 days out and am almost completely standing straight, but i still feel like i am huanched! -
My band Dr is friends with my PS. He came in during surgery to put in a low profile port. He did take out 1cc of fluid from my band to prevent problems with swelling.

Wannab, Glad your surgery is over and you are recovering! Hope you are as comfy as can be! Take it easy. Looking forward to some pics??? -
Ok just got the call. Insurance approved my surgery!YEAH! I am scheduled for May 5th. TT,lipo and arms. so excited!!:tongue2:
-
Hi guys! Did anyone use a wedge pillow after TT? If so how big was it? I have seen 7in and 12 in. Was it useful or waste of money? Also, what did you wear at home during recovery? Thanks for any insight!
-
My insurance co is paying because they paid fot the band. If i was't banded the wouldn't be paying!
-
wannabthinagain, I am 4'7. I got REALLY lucky with my insurance. They are only paying for it because they paid for the lapband. If i wasn't banded they wouldn't pay. I chose 105 because i want my BMI to be in the NORMAL weight range.

I babysit my niece. How long after tt and arm surgery before i can lift a baby. She is 1 year old?
-
Thanks Mimi! I was thinking at least 4-6 weeks. How are you feeling? Hope you heal quickly!
-
Yeah, I ddn't either. He said sometimes after the TT you will not only be able to see the port but the area could get irritated because the bigger port will be rubbing. The other is port is much smaller. Ask him about it.
-
My PS says he or my lapband surgeon will change the port to a smaller version a "revision" i think he called it. It will be done while he is doing the TT.
-
Well, I finally did it. After months of mulling it over I went for my PS consultation. I am definitly doing this! I worked so hard over the past year I think I owe it to myself to see this weight loss journey through. I am waiting for the insurance approval right now. So many emotions: SCARED TO DEATH:scared2: Excited, anxious and nervous! Hopefully by mid April there will be a new flablessness me!

My first surgery will be TT and lipo and possible lift in my thighs. I am very lucky to have insurance who will pay for most everything. They feel if they paid for the lapband they will pay for the Plastic Surgery. If i didn't have the band then no they would not pay. PS says it is very rare for my insurance co to deny after having bariatric surgery.
