I had surgery on 17th of april and I am wondering how long till 1st bowel movement. Sorry if TMI but I have been urinating with no issues but just wanted to know what is normal? Thank you

I was banded on Friday the 17th a little bloated I have been walking and staying on top of gas x strips. I am feeling alot better since friday I must say.

Hi everyone Just wanted to check in and let everyone know I am doing okay. Banded yesterday 4/17 little nausea yesterday from all the drugs, sore in port area but nothing too bad. Got home around 7:30 p.m. and my honey took really good care of me. I got up around 12 today and was able to shower with no issues just sore when bending and reaching down below. Took another nap and I am know thinking I am going to make a very thin milkshake. I am on liquids for first week and then to pureed my doc said if I feel hungry then start on purred I am a little scared to try "real food". That's pretty much it for now. I will check in when feeling better Thanks for everyone support

Not to sound negative...Just real advice (I am in school for nursing and I work in the bariatric unit at my job ) but given your age and health conditions that you listed I would say look into the LapBand and really do your research with WLS surgeries. There are alot of great surgeons in Mexico that people have posted on here but Follow up care is a crucial part in being sucessful in whichever surgery you do and I would not refer my grandma to Mexico for surgery and feel safe for her for the aftermath.. I am all for mexican surgeons but please look into Lapband and do Homework with Gastric sleeve before going "the cheaper route"

one week I have a desk job

Hi Bunnies I was quiet about it at first just cause I wanted to make sure I was going to be approved by insurance and all before I actually told people. Since being approved I am more open about it. So of course I told Parents, My 2 Best friends, Fiance and his mother,My supervisor who has been looking into the Procedure herself and a few people at work that I am pretty sure have an open mind..and will be supportive of my decison and also a few of Co-workers have had Lapband too.. so that of course makes it easier for me to want to share. I am pretty open about things but I figure this for me is a need to know basis. I think as the weight starts to come off and be more noticeable more people @ work will start to wonder and ask? But I can really care less about what people think about me. Only God can judge me and I am doing this for me.. No one else so whatever makes you all feel comfortable do. I just don't want everyone asking me how much weight have you lost? and all the other questions that come along with it. My fiance told his BF that I was having surgery this friday and I told him he wasn't supossed to tell anyone until afterwards and he told me that his friend won't judge me and he just wanted to be able to talk to someone about it besides his mom and me. So I accepted that I was just a little embarrased at first.. I am really nervous but I have faith and I am prayng for all of us.. Take care

Hi all Today was day one of pre-op diet it was okay until lunch then I got really hungry ...I stayed focused.. Just ate dinner about an hour ago that was definitely satisfying.. lol..9more days.. whoo.. hoo:smile2:

Hi Bunnies I start pre op diet tommorrow and surgery is set for 17th I have one last pre-op appt with surgeon 4/13 I can't believe after everything I am finally getting banded..This has beeb a long journey but worth it up to this point I am looking forward not back...lol They have me using bariatric essentials...:smile::thumbup:

Hi All my Bunny Bandsters Just wanted to give a quick update. Finally got the offical approval yesterday pre-op 4/13 start liquid diet 4/13 and surgery on 4/17.. Excited to finally be on the road to losing.. This is the greatest B-day present ever. I will be sharing more news as it comes. :biggrin::thumbup:

Hi April Bandsters still waiting on my official approval 4/17/09 is my tentative date. I will let everyone know when I am official on board.

I also used them for dental missed one payment cause they do automatic deduction and the garnished me and I ended up paying double then what the original amount of the contract was written for. They have no understanding for one mistakes.

Yeah...:thumbup: I am so excited to finally be going for my Last appointment for 6 mos required diet..2/27/09 20lbs weight loss is what I did in 6mos.. It really did go by faster then expected.. I just wanted to share that info with all you... I will keep everyone posted when I submit paperwork for approval this Monday 3/2:smile::tt2: fingers crossed everyone Can't want to be on the Band wagon..
