For the last 2 weeks I have had a sharp piercing pain in the left rib cage and my primary Dr said he doesn't know what it could be. Could it be my tubing caught up in my ribs or something? I don't mean to sound stupid, but I'm in pain and am at a loss for the reason. Thanks

I would doctor up some instant mashed potatoes with a little sour cream and cheese. Another thing I made that was delish was some spaghetti sauce mixed with ricotta cheese, top with mozzerella and microwave until melted. It has TONS or Protein and helps with a Pasta craving as well. GL to you!

I was banded 7/24 and today for lunch I have 2 small slices of roast pork loin w/ sugar free BBQ sauce and a mini cup of unsweet apple sauce. I'm pretty much eating everything except bread, steak and peanut butter. As other posters have said, just chew chew chew. -

My surgeons office highly recommends that each patient get a medical id bracelet so if there is ever a emergency, the dr's can know we have had the procedure and not to give us NSAIDS etc. Did anyone else get one??? I ordered one for the band, but also because I have other allergies that they should know about. Thanks!
-
Restless Monkey- I understand not wanting to wear one for the NSAID issue, but it makes sense to get one for the band itself. If I was in a accident and they took me by ambulance to the hospital and didn't know I had the band, there could be injuries they aren't aware of or if there had to be surgery they could cut into the port or something. Note-I am not a hypocondriac, I'm just over cautious I guess.

Was there something you "had" to have pre-surgery?
STLMom2006 posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi. I'm being banded on July 10th and I am super excited. However, I can not help the urge to go to the all you can eat crab leg and filet buffet with my family before surgery. Was there a restraunt, food type or specific food you just had to have before surgery in case you couldn't tolerate it after? Share! P.S I know this isn't a good way to think or do, please try not to flame me. I'm just curious what everyone wanted as their "last meal" -

Cathy, thank you for your response. I am aware that one day I will still be able to eat everything just in smaller and healthier quantities. That is why I added the P.S to my thread. I'm just curious what everyone ate right before surgery as their last meal. -

Who had to complete a pre op six month diet for insurance?
STLMom2006 replied to Dreamjeans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello there! I too have been on a 6 month diet and doing weight watchers. I have lost 6 lbs in 5 months and while I feel like i've failed, my surgeon doesn't seem concerned that I haven't lost more. Let's just hope my insurance doesn't see it as failure and deny the paperwork. Ugh! Good Luck ladies -
What shall we call ourselves? July 09 Bandsters?

Hello. I'm new to the forum and looking for a few things. They may already be here somewhere and I'm just missing them. I'm looking for products that you all use to make having the band easier (like a blender, scale or even food items) and also advice now that you have the band that you would tell someone who is scared and not banded yet. Thank you in advance. :smile2:

When I make them I use 2 bottles of sauce and no water. The liquid from the ribs waters down the sauce enough on it's own. I also use the boneless country ribs, the fat on them makes them more tender and comes off easily after cooking. I have a delicious crock pot recipe that can be made full fat or low fat. White Castles ~~~~~~~~ 2 lbs ground beef (turkey can be used but changes the flavor slightly), browned and drained 1 block velveeta, cut into small cubes (can use light) 1 packet dry onion Soup mix 2 cans cream of mushroom soup mix in crockpot and heat thru. This tastes just like a white castle burger and can be put on crackers, a wrap, a bun or eaten along. Yum!

3 things you're going to do when you've lost enough wgt (discretion advised)
STLMom2006 replied to Albacheeser's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums

I'm fat because I love food and have no self control. I eat when i'm happy, sad, stressed, relaxed. I am fat because even though I am motivated inside, I get tired and let it take over and let myself slide quickly back into bad habits. I'm a hottie inside just like the movie Shallow Hal, just waiting to get out. LOL
