I'd like to meet WASaBubbleButt, green, lisah25, Carlene, Tired_Old_Man, DerickM, neveragain, Wheetsin, mrspruitt, OH Julie, and Alexandra. And probably a bunch more that I've forgotten for the moment.

I BADLY need new tops. I can't buy things off the internet, though, because I have to try clothes on before I buy them. Some things fit, others don't. There's never any pattern to it, though. I usually wind up buying very plain t-shirts, all the same style but different colors, just because it's so hard to find clothes that fit. Pants are the hardest. I carry much of my weight in my belly, so if I find pants that fit around my waist, they're usually baggy around my hips and absolutely cavernous around my butt.

This has been my first real NSV since surgery. Well, a couple of weeks after surgery, a couple of people said that they could see that my face was thinner, but that doesn't really count because they knew I had surgery. Anyway, I noticed today that I could pull my pants down without unzipping them (unbuttoned but not unzipped) and that my shirt was baggier than I remember it being. So I guess I need new clothes! It's a good thing that the last time I found pants that I liked, I bought three different sizes of them (when you're 5'3" and fat, and find something you like that fits well, you get several because you'll never find them again if you go back to look).

What is your current fill in your 4cc band?
anonemouse replied to Paulax's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was banded at the beginning of July, and I have 1.8 ccs in my band. I am going to get another fill next Wednesday, 10/3. -
I made a new thread about the topic that Wendell was posting about. The other one got deleted because its OP requested it, I guess.
-
You can also buy a protein sampler pack from BariatricEating.com. If you do, I would get the one without the book, since the book mainly focuses on RNY.
-
The thing is, Wendell wasn't talking about politics. I'd link you to the thread he's referencing, but it's gone now.
-
It's true that it may take longer for you to reach goal. Just remember that you are more likely to stay at goal than someone who had RNY. There are a lot of people who had RNY that have to turn around and get a revision to another type of WLS when they regain weight down the road.

Definitely the right choice! The pound police (and the food police, too) can go screw themselves. I'd say you definitely made that employee's day!

Yeah, I've noticed some hair loss. I'm hoping it will stop soon. But I've experienced hair loss before, for no good reason. Maybe it's stress that does it. Between having surgery and trying to get my thesis done and preparing to take my comprehensive exams, I've been under a LOT of stress lately.

Ditto. It does make me want to ask the people using it what exactly they're thinking.

One thing you should remember about the Nectar products is that you shouldn't shake them. They foam up really badly. They don't mix as well without shaking them, but it can be hard to drink if you do.
-
Which ones have you tried? I've bought Matrix Chocolate (not wonderful, but edible), Whey Gourmet Chocolate Peanut Butter (extremely good, IMO), IDS Multi-pro Vanilla Cinnamon (very good, also), and Nectar Fuzzy Navel (pretty decent).
-
What I would really like to do is get a group together and everyone share samples of their protein stuff. Each person buys one or two containers of protein and sends everyone a sample or two. Hunting down samples of stuff is a pain in the ass. By the time you buy a bunch of samples, you might as well have bought an entire container.

You could also make tea, either decaf or regular. You can get big boxes of tea bags or instant tea for cheap, and if you want it sweet you can just add some splenda or equal or something.
-
Centrum Complete Chewables are pretty good. Orange-flavored.
-
Where did you buy them from?

Can I just say that you are my hero? :hail: :sleep

Yep, I'll bet you'll be a frequent poster to Things I Learn From My Patients part 02 - Page 2 - Student Doctor Network Forums. It's very interesting to read about just how stupid people can be.
-
To further illustrate my point, I just made a post on another thread. The time stamp on the post was 11:59 PM, yet the clock on my computer says 12:19 AM.

I really wish I had gotten to visit Boston when I interned on Cape Cod. Unless I fall madly in love with a small town or get an amazing job in one, I will never live somewhere that's not urban. I LOVE cities. I've had enough of rural, BFE towns. I want shopping, restaurants, and actual culture. Preferably on the coast.

Name one thing people would be surprised to know about you

But yeah, that's one reason I'm not fond of small children. Shit, snot, and puke all make me want to puke. -

Blood and pus are cool for me, as long as I don't smell it. My dad did a necropsy on a rottweiler a few months ago that had apparently died of internal hemmoraging. I gagged when I walked in the room. That old blood smell, you know? -

Yes, yes, he is. :eyebrows::faint: -
Thank you! And right back at you! Sometimes the best online friendships come out of having an argument, so hopefully we'll see each other around on LBT.
