Sounds great! I'm going to see if I can order some Da Vinci cherry syrup. I bet that would be good in the Matrix.

TOFU Cooking Techniques and Recipes PLEASE
anonemouse replied to Lynn_Marie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Here's a bunch of tofu recipes, ordered by how well they were rated. Some of them sound really good. -
You might have a point. They're probably going to make a hefty profit on the house whenever they sell it. Central Gardens is one of the more sought-after old neighborhoods because it's a protected historic district, so it's not likely that it will go down in value. Of course, it's surrounded by the 'hood on all sides, and my brother's car has been broken into twice in the last 3 weeks. This last time, it was parked in the back of the driveway of his in-laws house (that's where they've been living), penned in by other vehicles. Kind of creepy, when you consider that the person had to walk up the driveway to get to it, and was in the back yard, which is fenced on three sides. The in-laws' house is about a block from my brother's new house.

I have a fear of group work. Not public speaking. I might get a little nervous with that, but once I start I'm fine (as long as I am confident about what I'm speaking about). I think that's because public speaking (at least, lecturing and giving presentations) isn't really "spontaneous," KWIM? I've had time to figure out what I'm going to talk about, think about possible questions, etc. Group work, on the other hand, freaks me out. I've had to drop classes before because they were centered around group work and group interaction. I tried to take one class and nearly burst into tears during the first meeting, just because I got so stressed out by the expected group interaction. I dropped it that night.

Very nice.

That's okay with me! I actually like the looks of lots of tattoos, as long as they are GOOD tattoos. It's definitely not something that I think should be bargain-hunted, if you know what I mean. I'm willing to pay a bundle for a great tattoo.

I'm thinking of trying to get a group of bandsters to go together, kind of a group reward for people that've hit their goals. Plus, stuff like that is always more fun when you're in a group.

I had my last fill on Wednesday, and I think I may have hit my sweet spot. I'm having to eat slowly and I'm only eating very small amounts, so I don't see how I could eat more than 1,000 calories or so a day without either constantly eating or eating stuff that has a massive amount of calories. Heck, right now I'm not sure I'm able to get even 1,000.

My brother and sister-in-law just bought their first house together. It's a house in Memphis' Central Gardens, which is one of the major historic neighborhoods. It was built in 1898, and it still has a lot of the charm of an antique house. I'm probably going to be drafted into helping paint it.

Question on Routine Follow Ups with surgeon
anonemouse replied to cartermc's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Aww, KITTY! -
That's basically what I do, too. I usually forget to drink (unless I'm really thirsty) until right before I eat, so I'll usually down a glass or so of Water or tea right before eating.

Nope, not on the mushie stage. I've had both rice and pasta since being banded and could get it down fine, but it isn't a mushie.

I HATE tramp stamps, but I still want a tattoo when I hit goal. Not one of those stupid-ass tramp stamps, though. I want a NICE tattoo, maybe a portrait of something or someone. Probably not a tribal, not a trendy Chinese letter, not a flower or star or cartoon character. Not that those are bad, but they just aren't my cup of tea. Sky-diving and a tattoo, those are my rewards.

YES! And that thread of Wheetsin's absolutely rocked. We NEED a post of the week and maybe a thread of the week! Or even of the day.

WooHoo, side of page ads gone!
anonemouse replied to faithmd's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
I don't either. But I'm kind-of peeved about the chick at the top of the page. I can't get rid of her now! And her ghost-arm is bugging the crap out of me! -
Depends on what kind of style you like. I can't stand country or super-modern styles. Now, if you are talking Candice Olsen, Arts and Crafts, or Craftsman, I'm in.

I'm furious, can't you tell? :guess :biggrin1:

I was around my parents for the last few days, and they're both pretty sick with sinus infections/bronchitis. I figure that it's just a matter of time before I get it, too. My ears are already itching inside and clogging up, and that's usually the first sign of sinus problems and colds for me.

I prefer plain vitamin C, to be honest. I generally load up if I feel anything coming on.

How can someone study and still make a 35 on a multiple choice exam? It baffles me, it really does. You don't even have to really know the answer to most of the questions, just be able to RECOGNIZE them, for Pete's sake! :faint:
-
That would be me, too. Even in grad school, I rarely study. When I do, it's usually the day before or day of the exam. It really screwed with me during my freshman year, though. I had breezed through high school without studying, and it was a real shock to me when I got to college physics and chemistry. So, I had to learn to study. I still only do minimal studying. Sometimes, I wonder what I'd make if I actually put in a lot of effort.

Definitely, I'm sure. :heh:

I'm hoping that I'll get home in time. If he sticks to his usual schedule, he should be delivering in my area between 4:30-6:00, and I should be home by then. I would have it delivered to my parents' house, but they are a 3 1/2 hour drive from my apartment, so it's still easier to drive to Lexington if I miss the delivery today. I've never had anything delivered to my apartment manager's office. With my luck (and knowing them) they would refuse to sign for it.

I'll probably give a review for the next test, just to help people with that problem. I usually give tests with emphasis placed on the major ideas and concepts in the chapters. I try not to bother too much with the picky little things. Some of it's hard to show them, though, so it just comes down to their ability to memorize. I mean, it's hard for some people to understand things that they can't see with their naked eye or touch with their fingers. I've told them, though, that if I lecture on it, it's completely fair game. I don't test them on the things that I don't go over, but they are responsible for knowing the stuff that's in my PowerPoint presentations.

I get truly sick (flu, bronchitis, etc.) so rarely that I've never seen the need for a flu shot. For a couple of years, though, I was getting sick every single semester. First I got the flu, which was worse than I remember it being (it had been a good 10-15 years since I had it). I couldn't even stand up without getting sick. I finally had to go to the doctor to get a prescription for anti-nausea medication. The next semester, I got bronchitis and lost my voice for a week or so. My ears clogged up so badly that time that I had problems hearing. Again, had to go to the doctor. I probably would have gotten pneumonia if I hadn't, judging from the way my chest ached. The semester after that, I got a bad ear infection and couldn't even walk in a straight line. Seriously, I looked like I was drunk, wobbling all over the place. Usually, though, I don't get sick easily. Sure, I'll get the sniffles, but I don't get sick enough to miss classes. Much to my dismay. :guess
