I'm going to have to force myself to eat.

For me, that takes care of the cravings, for the most part. Once you KNOW that something will cause intense pain if you eat it, it loses a lot of its appeal. One thing I have experienced since this last fill is that even if I do get hungry and crave something, once I sit down to actually eat and take that first bite, the cravings and most of the hunger just disappear. -
Visiting family for the weekend. And this week, I'm working at my parents' veterinary clinic cuz one of their workers is on vacation, so I will be here very little (probably not at all during the day) until Thursday or Friday.

Do you honestly expect us to believe that y'all weren't passing PMs and emails around like candy? Seriously? Enough has been said here and at OH that we all know that isn't true. I am getting sick and tired of the "poor Sandy" routine that you guys have going. We're supposed to believe that Wendell is the root of all evil, apparently. Give me a fucking break. While none of us here have pretended that Wendell was an angel, he certainly didn't force Sandy to act the way she did and he didn't force you guys to act the way you did. And while I can understand not wanting to admit just how bad Sandy's actions were (after all, she pretended to be your friend, I guess), I can't understand the focus that you guys seem to have on believing that Wendell forced her into anything. Guess what? She is an adult. She could have put him on "block" on OH, and so could you guys. So what that he posted about protein shakes? Who cares? If you don't like to read someone's posts, DON'T.

That's a cop-out. I posted that PM because I felt that you lied about something. I'm not in the habit of posting someone's private conversations just because I don't agree with them. The fact is, I said something along the lines of you seeming to be a little two-faced, making negative posts about him one minute and then sending him PMs, trying to get him to show you his blog for your own purposes. You said something along the lines of "now, that's funny." I certainly wasn't going to let you get away with making a statement that implied that I was making the whole thing up. The fact is, I regret the whole thing. Not because it outed you, though, but because I allowed you to piss me off so much that I betrayed my friend's trust (wasn't Wendell, btw).

You know, I normally don't care for heated debates either, at least out in real life. Online, though? I don't see any reason to censor my thoughts and beliefs. You see, people online rarely affect my life. With very few exceptions, I don't CARE if I'm friends with them or not, since I'm not likely to ever meet them or speak to them in person. My online friends take me for what I am. Hell, they may even know me better than the people in real life, just because I don't have to censor myself for their benefit. If I'm going to be friends with someone, I'll be friends with them. But I'm not going to mold myself into something I'm not just to play nice.

Ooh, what'd you say, what'd you say?!

Eh, prefer the kitties, honestly. But I get to see my cat! He's been living at my parents' clinic since I've been in grad school (nasty apt manager doesn't allow pets). He's got lots of friends, though. My folks are soft touches when it comes to pets, so he's got a couple of roommates that I'll have to take along with him when I get a new place. One last reply... I can understand why they do it, it just rubs me wrong, though. It's kinda tacky. But, much less tacky than the folks who run out on their bills. I guess it's going to be the coming trend, though, to not trust anyone to actually live up to their responsibilities.

I guess. Honestly, I'm too tired to think right now. I need to go to bed, it's past 3 AM here. I might be back tomorrow, if not, probably Sunday night or Monday. Night, all!
-
Honestly, I don't know. I don't think I'd request the entire amount upfront. Maybe a down payment, or a portion, but not the whole thing. I don't think the two situations are entirely comparable. There is no such thing as editing insurance. I could understand a doctor requiring complete payment upfront, if there was no insurance involved. But when there is insurance, the surgeon knows he will be paid.
-
I might have to indulge myself tomorrow. At least it takes my mind off food, right? Hell. I was about to ask if I was the only one that didn't see Sandy's big long spiel of lies and BS on her profile. Then I looked at the bottom of the page. It wasn't scrolled over far enough. I need to go to sleep.
-
Yes, I do, but I don't pay for them before I go pick them off the shelves. I dunno, I guess it just rubs me the wrong way. Makes me think that they're just in it for the money. Hell, what am I thinking, this is the US, of course they are.
-
I'm halfway tempted to go to Dr. Kuri's website and send them an email about what Sandy said about him violating US law, just to see what the reply was. Might be interesting. Heck, might get her fired. It's more and more tempting, the more I think about it.
-
That still seems unethical to me, since they're billing someone that hasn't received a service yet. Now, I can understand making arrangements that detail the fees that are to be paid upon surgery, before the surgery occurs. But actually making people pay money for a surgery that hasn't happened is odd, IMO.
-
And let him know that she did it on a major surgery board that has thousands of people visiting it. His reputation's at stake.
-
Unfortunately, Wendell, I won't be PMing anyone anything at OH. I had them delete my account after I got attacked by Psycho-Bitch.
-
Wendell, you should contact Dr. Kuri and tell him that Sandy's implicated him in breaking US law. Maybe that'll light a fire under her.
-
But wouldn't it vary, based on which insurance it was and which policy? If they knew my insurance wouldn't pay $50k, why did they send them the bill for $50k?
-
Case in point, my band surgery. The hospital/surgeon billed my insurance for close to $50k. My insurance took off more than $18k off that, basically said, "no, this is what the charge is."
-
Program fees are one thing. That's acceptable, in my mind. But requiring the portion that insurance doesn't pay before the future patient has even received the medical care? To me, that's unethical. How would they even know how much insurance would pay? Every time I've had something expensive done, insurance discounts what the doctor initially charged, and doesn't pay the whole fee. I mean, yeah, I've had to pay my deductible and my portion of the bill, but the actual cost of the surgery was reduced from what the doctor originally billed insurance.
-
But you can have a statement to the effect of "PM me for my website address, it's VERY interesting." You aren't breaking any of the TOS, then.
-
Seriously, try to find out the IP of any emails you received from the OM and email the mods here about having them check it against usedtbfat's IP. If it doesn't match, you haven't lost anything. If it does, you have a bargaining chip.

Yep, I'm about to bring out my fuzzy socks, too. My feet feel like ice cubes, and they take forever to warm up in bed. I can't wear slippers, but I loves me some nice furry/fuzzy socks.
