I feel like shooting my neighbor.

I think I'll stick with my musical neighbor, thanks. :heh:

    What would you change?

    Ugh, too, not two.

    What would you change?

This brings up another one for me. I naturally have double vision. My mom has it two, so I blame her. I can't get any eye doctor to help me fix it, though. I tell them about it, and they don't do anything. It's very frustrating. I can't wear any type of glasses or sunglasses because of it, because the frames screw me up even more. Well, I can wear them when I drive, but not when I'm out of the car. I keep walking into things.
  4. Oh, don't get me started on that subject. My mom waited until she literally couldn't walk more than 5-10 steps at a time before she got both of her knees replaced. I kept wondering if she thought they were just magically going to get better. As it is, she waited so long that I think she did lasting damage to the muscles, tendons, and ligaments, plus she disfigured her feet from the way she walked back then.

I'm going to have to force myself to eat.

I had two fills before I had much restriction at all, and it took 3 to get to the point I'm at now. Don't be disappointed, many people don't get much restriction after only one fill. I sure didn't.
  6. What gets me are the people that chose RNY because they would have had a foreign object in their body if they had chosen the band. Derr, what do they call all those little staples?

    Feeling Blue- Abnormal Scarring

Well, apparently, I have hypertrophic scarring, then. Mine are purple and a little raised. My doctor didn't say anything about the scarring, though.
  8. Luckily, I have not experienced this yet. Hopefully (knock on wood), I will never experience it. I've gotten something semi-stuck occasionally (not recently, though), and had to wait in pain until it went down, and I've learned the hard way why it's a bad idea to eat and drink at the same time (boy, I'll never do that again), but I haven't PBed yet.

    Having Surgery in a Week

Ditto. I was ADDICTED to bread pre-band. I haven't had it since I got decent restriction. And I really haven't missed it, either. Once you realize that what you are craving WILL cause you pain, you don't want it that badly anymore. And like you said, I'd much rather be thin than ever eat bread again.

    Wow.

I somehow managed to nearly fill my PM mailbox in just a couple of days. And I had just cleared it out, too! Went from 4 messages to 225 before I knew it.

    Wow.

    Thanks very much!
  12. Oh, I despise it. It drives me up the freakin' wall, along with anyone who is sleeping in the bed with me, since I have to keep turning over. It also makes having head colds really pleasant, since I can't find any comfortable position and have to toss and turn even more.
  13. Wow. Some people really do amaze me. I've always had excess mucus. Doesn't matter what time of year it is or if I've been taking allergy or sinus meds, I've got it. I usually have to keep turning from side to side at night because I get so stuffed up that I can't breathe through one side of my nose. I personally think it's a genetic thing, since my mom has always been the same way. Although, meds with Guaifenesin (sp?) REALLY help, because it thins it enough that it drains easily. TMI, I know.
  14. Wait, what's this about mucus? Did I miss something?

    What would you change?

That reminds me of my dad. He wouldn't admit until recently that he's losing his hearing. It was always, "I could hear you perfectly if you weren't mumbling!" We FINALLY got him to admit that he's just deaf as a post and that it isn't the people around him. What did it was when he went for his continuing education and couldn't hear the speaker, even though he sat in the front row and she had a microphone. Something about the tones of women's voices, high pitches, etc. Anyway, he BLARES the TV. He's got a set of those wireless earphones with a tranceiver that you hook up to the TV, so that he can turn up the volume as loud as he needs without turning up the volume on the actual TV, but we can't get him to use them.

    Wow.

How do you do that? There are some that I want to keep, but I'd like to free up the space in my inbox.

I feel like shooting my neighbor.

With my luck, she'd call the cops. And she works at Starbucks, so I don't want to piss her off. I NEED my coffee when I make the hour-long drive to go teach every Friday.

    Feeling Blue- Abnormal Scarring

Can anyone post pictures of what their scars look like? Wheetsin's explanation was great, but I need a visual in my head of what normal scarring looks like versus hypertrophic scarring versus keloid scarring.

    Anyone Else 5'1-5'2"??

Ditto. Well, I was before banding, anyway. I hit 202 the other day and I am just about in a size 18 now. Actually, I can fit into an 18 and get them easily zipped, but they are still a tad snugger than I prefer my pants to be. I keep having to hitch my 20's up. Which feels AWESOME, btw.
  20. That's definitely one of my pet peeves. There was a member posting not too long ago about the "truth about the lap-band." And of course, her "truth" was that she spent the majority of her time in the bathroom, PBing and vomiting. She got corrected, but she didn't like the correction. She didn't like being told that what she was experiencing WASN'T normal bandster behavior.

Do you think it's rude to correct another's grammar?

This is what you posted in response to my question asking why you believed that religion and science were one and the same: Can anyone else see where I was coming from when I asked for clarification and for her to put those subjects in a full sentence?

    Salads

I don't have any problem eating salads (luckily, it seems that the only food that gives me trouble is bread). I just usually view it as a waste of the very limited space in my pouch, so unless it's a REALLY tasty looking salad, I ignore it. I do occasionally steal a bite from someone else's plate (had a bite of my mom's lettuce with pico de gallo and a bit of cheese at a Mexican restaurant yesterday), but most of the time I focus on the other foods available (had 3/4 of a small beef enchilada at the Mexican restaurant).

    Pounds or percentages?

Do you think of your weightloss in terms of the number of pounds you've lost, or the percentage of your excess weight that you've lost? As of yesterday, I've lost 20 pounds, which is also 20% of my excess weight. For some reason, though, I prefer to think of my loss in terms of percentage. I think it is because I can get a realistic idea of how far I've come and how far I have to go.

    Pounds or percentages?

That's a good point. Whatever motivates someone the best, I say!

Do you think it's rude to correct another's grammar?

I ditto that. I mean, I've done it before, but I generally only do it when I sincerely can't understand what the person is attempting to say. I did it just the other day, when the person posting just posted a random combination of subjects (or at least, it seemed that way to me) and apparently expected us all to read her mind to discover the meaning. I was literally thinking, "What the hell does that mean?" Seriously, I was literally scratching my head. I even PMed some of the other people in the thread, to ask if they understood. They didn't, either. I was nice about it, too, when I eventually brought it up to the poster. I just asked for a little clarification and for her to put the words in a sentence, so that I knew what she was trying to say. I got jumped on. Some people are a little TOO sensitive about this stuff. I mean, I don't ask for a lot when I debate. I don't care if someone mispells something or if their grammar is bad. I do want to be able to figure out what they are attempting to say, though. And I don't think I should be jumped on by that person, when I've politely asked for clarification. PMing them wouldn't work in some cases. There are people here that don't check their PM box more than once a week. You aren't guaranteed to get a response. And when they are pressing you for a response to their post, it's a lot nicer to ask them for clarification than it is to tell them, "I'm going to ignore your post because no one can understand what you are trying to say."
