Feels awesome! The only bad part is that now I have to go spend some money on new pants, since I have only one pair in this size!

My first official R&R...Bandsters who dont know a damn thing about banding
anonemouse replied to wrk-n-prgrss's topic in Rants & Raves
And then they get PISSED if you point out that you have absolutely no idea what they've said! -
Do you think it's rude to correct another's grammar?
anonemouse replied to marnie723's topic in Rants & Raves
On the rest of the board, I completely agree with you. That's why I have never, to my knowledge, corrected anyone on the support pages. In Rants and Raves, though, one of the major components of the forum is debate. And there can be no debate if someone's posts are either completely unreadable or not understandable. At that point, it's not rude to point that out. -
I seem to have problems getting cold foods like yogurt and ice cream down. Apparently, my band doesn't like them. I have to go REALLY slow if I want to eat them, and even then I can't eat a lot of it. Which is actually a good thing when it comes to ice cream, I guess. But even cold milk goes down slowly. It's kinda odd.

Not seriously, of course, but I'm still very, very pissed at her. I'm sitting here listening to HER bad music through my floor.

You said it, Wheetsin. Damn things stretch the page.

First Fill, But Still No Restriction!?!
anonemouse replied to ToniaPatt's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Many people don't feel restriction after their first fill. I had very, very little after mine. I waited two weeks and then went back for another. It took one more to get to the restriction I'm at right now, which I feel is ideal for me. -
It's general anesthesia, so you are completely asleep for the surgery.

Well, for me, the lidocaine shot hurts (those shots are EVIL), but I go completely numb after that, so I can't actually feel the fill needle. I don't actually feel the band tightening, either. It's a REALLY funky feeling when they pull the fill needle out, though, because of the suction of the port.

It's because it's a poll. Whenever someone new votes, it shows the last person that actually submitted a post, and it puts the time that the new person voted.

That's what I'm hoping for! I haven't been a 16 (well, at least a comfortable 16, anyway) in several years. I LOVE seeing the scale go down, instead of up!

Let's start a mythbusters thread...
anonemouse replied to Wheetsin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Ha! :bounce::heh: Another myth I LOVE is that "what worked for me, will work for you" or "there is only ONE way to do things." Bull crap. People are individuals. What works for one person will not necessarily work for another. Some people do well on solid Protein. Other people do well using Protein drinks. Some people can't eat white carbs. Other people can eat carbs very easily and still lose weight very easily. All that matters is that you are happy and healthy, and that your surgeon and nutritionist are happy with your progress. Other than that, who the heck CARES? Band rules? Bah humbug. Other than chewing well and drinking enough Water, there are no "band rules," simply because every single person has individual needs and abilities. -
WASABB - I need your help & guidance!

The brownish purple stick thingies are taro. -
I wish he'd fix it. That's an unexpected pain in the butt.

Do you take off your shoes?
anonemouse replied to argon's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
That reminds me of a guy that was at the university where I did my undergrad work. He NEVER wore shoes. Ever. He graduated at the same time I did, and I remember him walking through the ceremony with no shoes. -
Stupid glitch.

I tried drinking some chocolate milk the other day, and it took me several different attempts to get the entire 16 ounces in, just because I couldn't drink more than a few sips at a time.

I don't know what the heck it's doing! I keep typing P-R (maybe separating them will help), and it keeps putting "Page Ranking" when I hit submit reply.
-
Very true. I didn't even think about the estrogen in soy.
-
What the heck? I KNOW I put "PR" in that post. Why did it change itself to "Page Ranking?"
-
Oh! BTW, Nancy, thanks for mentioning alcohol allergy/intolerance in the other thread. I looked it up, and it really seems like that may be what is going on with me whenever I drink alcohol. Good to know!

Well, the test tubes are very bad quality Protein, so I wouldn't go that route unless you had no other option. You don't want anything that's made with collagenic protein or Calcium caseinate (both are extremely low quality protein sources). The best is whey protein or soy (if you don't like whey). These are my favorites right now: nectar Fuzzy Navel (tastes a little like Welch's orange/pineapple/peach mixed juice, IMO) Matrix chocolate (good when mixed with sugar-free or full-sugar flavored syrup or powdered peanut butter) IDS Multi-Pro Whey Vanilla-Cinnamon (a little sweet on its own for me, but I've seen recommendations to mix it with coffee or a low-carb spiced chai mix) Whey Gourmet Chocolate Peanut Butter (yummy!)

Or the ones in the bank drive-thru that wait until they get to the window or box-thingy to fill out the deposit slip or other transaction paperwork, after they've been sitting in line for 10 minutes.

Oh, yeah. I definitely blame Britney's mom for a lot of what she's become. Like I said earlier, her mother being in the picture now (like a lot of people want) wouldn't do much good, since she didn't do anything when she actually had the legal right and responsibility to do something. What the heck can she do now, other than put a good PR spin on things?

I'm in Tennessee/Kentucky (depending on which day of the week it is), and we've got the laws here, too. But they don't follow them. Oh, yeah, I believe you about the slow drivers. I keep telling my mom that she's a lot more likely to cause an accident driving slow like she does than if she would just drive the speed limit (she usually drives about 10 miles under the limit), just because she's causing a back-up and everyone has to switch lanes to go around her. I mean, I don't speed too badly. I try not to go more than 5 mph over the speed limit, just because I'd figure that it would always be my luck to get pulled over. I've only gotten two speeding tickets, one for going 80 in a 55 (the road looked like an interstate and I was distracted, talking to the passenger) and one for going 40 in a 25 (every local road but that one has a speed limit of 35).
