    IRAQ WAR your thoughts

You can say the same about Christianity, too. But I distinctly remember getting chastised on the board for saying that.

    For those who have PCOS

If you don't make it, you'll be darn close. We'll all be rooting for you, though!

    For those who have PCOS

I can pretty much tell you what your endo will do. He/she will put you on birth control to control the hormones and clear your skin, and put you on metformin/glucophage to control insulin resistance. Oh, and they'll tell you to stay away from refined carbs (sugar, white flour, etc.) and very starchy veggies (white potatos, etc.). And of course, they will give you the ever-popular "lose weight" lecture, since that's basically the only cure for PCOS. There's not much they can do to control hair growth in weird places, unfortunately, unless you want to spend hundreds of dollars a month on methods that aren't guaranteed to work (see the Vaniqa thread in Rants and Raves).

    Lap-Band Doctors in Sonora Mexico

    1. The section of the stomach below the lapband remains in perfect working order. It isn't affected by the band at all. 2. That just depends on you and the elasticity of your skin. From what I've seen, it varies from person to person. Some people get away without needing PS, other people need it badly. 3. The beauty of the lap-band is that you can still indulge yourself every once in a while. If you have a giant craving for cake or chocolate, you can have cake or chocolate.

    For those who have PCOS

I never had confirmed cysts. They just did blood work on me and decided that I had PCOS from my hormone levels, along with my appearance and the fact that the only reason I had gone to the gyno was because I hadn't had a period in 3 months. I never had a pelvic ultrasound or anything, and I was too heavy for them to get a good feel of my ovaries.

    For those who have PCOS

Well, I'll definitely have my fingers crossed for you, hoping that it does the trick. This is SO much easier to do when you have decent restriction.

    For those who have PCOS

Oh yeah, very true! I'm glad for that every day! I lost about 11 or so pounds pretty quickly after surgery, and then gained several of those back when I went back on real food. I didn't start losing again until I got decent restriction with my 2nd and 3rd fills.

    For those who have PCOS

Hi! I have PCOS. I was banded on July 3rd, and as you can see, I've lost a little less than 30 pounds so far. It's a little bit slow going, but it is coming off!

So who would you like to meet?

Yep, I'm thinking about dragging her along to my PS, if I have any. And many of the people you listed are definitely at the top of my list to meet.

Do You? You know use that word!

You have posted that you are scared of black men, that you didn't want them to get too close to you, though, just because they are black. And that was only 4/5 days ago. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f80/what-your-favorite-but-hated-stereotypes-44506/index2.html#post616477

Wheetsin, got a question for you...

WASa, you should check out the Lenovo (formerly IBM) site. Their laptops are decently priced, and you can get them with XP.

Do You? You know use that word!

Thank you, Diva!:sleep That story of yours makes me sick. I can't believe people act that way. I remember reading a post on another forum several weeks ago by a woman who was in a parking lot. She'd used her remote to open the door of her van, which made a beeping noise or something while it opened. A 5 year old was walking into the store and asked her father what the noise was. The woman answered her automatically, and the child said, "I wasn't speaking to you, n____!" That made me feel so sick for the woman, and so PISSED at the child and her father.

I hate it when people post just to post.....

Yeah, that wasn't the post up-and-up post that I've seen on this board, to tell you the truth. And it was SO out of character, from what I've heard of the surgeon, anyway. I mean, I've heard that he's kind of a "move 'em in, move 'em out" surgeon, but I never heard anything bad about him.
  14. Yup, I agree with this. If YOU think you need PS, go for it. After all, you are the only one that has to live with your body full-time. You might as well be happy with it.

Gah! Posts like that piss me off, too. I mean, I was on well-chewed solids at that point, but I was following my doctor's orders. I can't imagine doing it and KNOWING that you were breaking the rules.

Does anyone have a new gen iPod Nano?

I've thought about getting one in either that color or in blue. I just have a hard time giving Apple any of my money, lol! But I get more and more tempted every day.
  17. anonemouse

    Oh god.

To add to my above post: I'm lucky in that I have a good memory for details, in terms of stuff like this. Usually, if I can remember the basic idea behind a concept, I can come up with a decent essay answer, mainly because I can remember more details as I start writing.
  18. anonemouse

    Oh god.

I usually tend to do best if I just do straight memorization. I get confused when I use mnemonics. I spend so much time trying to remember them that I forget what they stand for! I just hope they'll let me type on a computer instead of writing by hand. I can think faster when I'm typing, for some reason. Plus, I don't get hand cramps. :biggrin1: Luckily, I have a two week period to take my comps in, so I can spread them out a little bit and decompress between exams.
  19. anonemouse

    Oh god.

Yeah. I think that right now I'm just going to go quietly hyperventilate. Damn, I'm gonna have to beef up on my shit. I mean, most of that stuff is material that I have seen before, since I got my B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Science. Now I just have to go read up on it again and hope that I don't freak out and forget everything when I'm actually taking the written exam. I just feel so sorry for the folks in my program that don't really have a background in wildlife or ecology, 'cause a lot of that stuff is material that you don't get a lot of (or at least, not in-depth) in general biology classes.
  20. anonemouse

    Oh god.

    It's a Master's in biology.

    Aaaahhh!

I got a new neighbor a few days ago. Guess what he/she's doing? Playing loud fucking music/tv at 1:42 in the morning. This seals it. Tomorrow morning, I'm marching myself right down to the manager's office and filing a complaint. :help:

    Food too much trouble??

Yep, sometimes I have to force myself to eat, even if I'm hungry.
  23. anonemouse

    Do you eat popcorn?

My doc allows her patients to eat it, but I prefer not to. I mean, if I'm around someone who is eating it, I might steal a few pieces (if it's the very buttery kind), but I don't make it for myself. Whenever I eat it, I invariably get bits and pieces stuck in my gums, so it's more of a pain (literally!) than it's worth, IMO. But then again, I've never been much of a snacker, to be honest. I'd much prefer to go eat a really good meal (nice steak, veggies, etc.) than waste (IMO, of course) my calories on a snack. I've always heard (from Weight Watchers, nutritionists, doctors, etc.), though, that if you are going to snack, popcorn is a good choice, as long as you choose the low fat/sodium/calorie kind.

How exactly would your ex be liable for something the police did or didn't do?

    If money were no object...

LOL! As long as the left turns don't make you sick, I guess!
