    Something is wrong with Christmas

I enjoy Christmas because it's fun, but there is a limit as to what is fun, IMO. I think a lot of people put on a show at Christmas time because it's expected of them. The constant barrage of Christmas-crap from Halloween (or even before!) on gets old, IMO. I like being left alone at Christmas-time to do my own thing. I don't like giving money to organizations that I highly dislike just because people look at you oddly when you ignore the Santas at the door. I dislike companies that push expensive items because "you love your family THIS much." That is what gets irritating, IMO, the commercialization, not Christmas itself. I'm an Atheist, but I enjoy Christmas because I like getting and giving gifts and being with my family.
  2. My brother's ex is the nutritionist (or at least was, I'm not sure if she's still there) for that group, but I've never run into any of their patients. I was banded by Dr. Weaver at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, though.
  3. Gene! And because that was too short, here's an emoticon:
  4. You aren't the only one. One comprehensive exam down, two to go. I've been relaxing this evening, since my hard one was today. Hell, I slept from 8:00-1:00 and I'm STILL tired.

    Skany Evil Repulsive Patient Coordinators

Not really. All someone would have to do to get around that is to use an IP proxy service, which you can find online for free. Of course, not everyone realizes that, so it makes it rather entertaining when they do get caught.

    Need gift ideas, please.

Wine might be a good idea. Hmm. I'll have to call or email my SIL to see what he likes.

    Need gift ideas, please.

Okay, so I wound up ordering this for my brother's MIL. She really likes tea, so I think she'll like it. Now I just have to figure out what to get his FIL.

    PCOS-Dandruff!!

Seriously, start saving for it if you can. It's well worth the expense, in my opinion. I was literally shaving every single morning (and sometimes later, too, if I had a special event at night). Even after only one treatment, I've been able to skip a day between shaves (probably could have skipped more if I wasn't so paranoid over it). The place I went to is Sona Medspa. They've got lots of locations in several different states, so you might be able to find one near you. They do 2-for-1 packages all the time, also, so you might be able to save some money that way.

    PCOS-Dandruff!!

They are quite expensive. My package cost $750 for 5 treatments. I have only had one treatment so far (my place makes you wait 8 weeks between treatments), but I've seen massive improvement, so I would be very happy to pay the price again. I think whether the symptoms improve with weight loss just depends on the person. For me, they haven't. I rely on birth control and Proactiv for the acne, the band for the weight, and laser treatment for the hair. And really, from what I understand, once hair starts growing, you're stuck with it. Weight loss may prevent new hair from being stimulated to grow, but it won't stop the hair that's already growing in awkward places. That's a done deal.

Yeah, but I'd like to get them something a tad more personal. Problem is, I don't know them well enough to know what that'd be, other than "organic" or "green."

    losingjusme goes for plastics

If your pannus is interfering with your exercise as much as it sounds like, I think you should go for it, with the realization that you'll need more PS later.

    PCOS-Dandruff!!

I've never heard of a dandruff issue being one of the symptoms of PCOS. I encourage you to go for laser treatments for the hair growth, though. It's been the only thing that helped mine. I doubt you would see any major improvement before your birthday, though.

    Loosing my hair

Stress can make it go, too, regardless of how much protein you are consuming. I've noticed that my hair loss increases and decreases, depending on how much stress I'm under. Right now, it's shedding left and right, and I'm getting very good amounts of protein in my diet.
  14. I keep forgetting to post that I did get the package (plus, I can't remember who sent it to me). Haven't tried it yet, but I did get it.

Um, who sent me the Unjury?

Yes! I just found the envelope that you sent it in, and I thought it was you that lives in Michigan! Hell, I'm so bad at remembering names. Even now, two weeks before the end of the semester, I can barely remember who's who in the classes I teach.

Um, who sent me the Unjury?

    Stupid postal service! :angry

    Best ribs EVER

Grad school's worth it, I think. For the most part, it's been enjoyable, with only a few moments of true "tear your hair out" stress. You get to take all the interesting classes in grad school!

Next step in finding the real me

Awesome, Neal! I can't wait until I'm at that point!

Um, who sent me the Unjury?

I think I got some from someone else, too. Btw, did you ever get the syrups in the mail? If you have, they've either gotten lost or my parents have forgotten to give me the package.

    Best ribs EVER

Abnormal psych actually sounds pretty interesting. The exams I'm taking are my grad school comprehensive exams (taken after all course-work for the degree is finished), so I've gotta do well or else I won't be getting my degree next year. Nice bit of pressure, huh?

    Best ribs EVER

I should be, but I felt like taking a break. I can only read ornithology textbooks for so long before I go crosseyed. :faint:

    Best ribs EVER

My restriction is pretty good, I think. I can eat just about anything (other than lots of soft bread, anyway). I'm just over 5 months out (as of yesterday), so I'm averaging between 1-2 pounds a week. Of course, sometimes I lose several very quickly and then wait a few weeks before I lose anymore, but I'm happy with it. Yep, I'm down a size, to an 18, and I'll be at a 16 in a few more pounds (my pants are pretty loose, but the 16s are still a little tight).

    Getting it off my chest

Honestly, I wouldn't give them the land, then. It seems obvious that they just want to sell it and make money off of it. Which isn't horrible, but they should just be able to come out and say that instead of being all passive aggressive about it. I'd recommend holding onto the land and just giving it to them in your will.

    Starting to freak out!

Um, alpha, beta.... Beta keratin is in feathers. In mammals, there are epithelial keratins, hair keratins, and cytokeratins, but that doesn't really apply to birds.
