Ditto. I always explain it this way: Are we living in the United States? Check. Doesn't the United States have a Constitution? Check. Doesn't that Constitution have a clause in the Bill of Rights that basically says that the government shall not show favoritism towards one religion? Check. Wouldn't my tax dollars going towards the creation and maintenance of a Christian manger scene on the lawn of my local courthouse be showing favoritism towards the Christian religion? Check. Is that a violation of the Constitution? Check. I don't understand why people don't understand that. We have a Constitution for a reason. Shouldn't we actually follow what it says? Put up a manger scene or a menorah on your own lawn, but don't use MY tax dollars to put it on public, governement property in a violation of our Constitution. Hey, if you want to have the Constitution changed, more power to you. Lobbying your politicians is your right. But while the Constitution does say what it does, let's follow it.

I think the Shakespearean saying of "methinks (s)he doth protest too much" definitely holds true in regards to religion. Like my mom always says, it's all in how someone acts, not what they say. Someone can howl up and down about how devout they are, and how they are such good [insert faith here]. I just say, "put your money where your mouth is."

That sounds pretty good. I'll have to try it sometime.

You'll love these, Denise: Bah Humbug T-Shirts and Gifts : CafePress.com : Shop Over 35 Million Unique Products and Bah Humbug! Ebenezer Scrooge Quote T-shirt « Christmas Stuff The last shirt's pretty darn funny, I think.

LOVE this stuff. My dinner tonight was half an order of edamame and two minced chicked lettuce wraps. Yummy.
-
I DESPISE lima beans, but I really, really love edamame. I don't think they taste anything like each other (but then again, I avoid limas like the devil). I think you'd like them, though. They're pretty addictive.

I found a place in Memphis that has the best ribs that I've ever eaten. Now, I've never before seen the appeal of eating ribs. Most of the ones that I've had in the past were not worth the effort it took to get what little meat there was off of them. They were either lacking in meat or had large amounts of fat on them. But these, these were HEAVENLY. So if you're ever in Memphis, you NEED to go to Cozy Corner. Of course, I was only able to eat two ribs, but they were DELICIOUS.

My binges were always complete meals. I'd get take-away from a restaurant and just pig out. From Outback, I'd always get a salad, huge steak, potato,, another side, a blooming onion, dessert. I tried that once after being banded, and decided never again. That hurt. Believe it or not, I'm not really a fan of junk food. I don't really see the appeal of most of it. I always preferred to eat huge amounts of real food. Hell, I always have to get small containers of ice cream on the rare occasions that I get it, since it goes old and nasty before I finish it.

It's soybeans. And SO much better than regular beans. I'm not very fond of regular beans at all, but I LOVE edamame.
-
Btw, Wheetsin, are the edamame in your recipe shelled?
-
Ditto. Malted milk anything is puke-worthy. Give me a bag of Sour Cream and Cheddar Ruffles over those anyday, and I'll put an entire bag away. That's why I do not go down the chip aisle, ever.

That's her! -
Well, they've got two different packages. One of them has a book, the other doesn't. I liked the nectar Fuzzy Navel, Matrix chocolate, IDS Multi-Pro Vanilla-Cinnamon (almost too sweet for me, though), and whey Gourmet Peanut Butter Chocolate (best by far, IMO). You can get all those except the IDS at Netrition.com - The Internet's Premier Nutrition Superstore! (the Nectar and Matrix are under the Syntrax brand, and the Whey Gourmet is under the PVL brand).
-
You can get a pretty decent sample pack from Bariatric Eating - Protein, Vitamins, Gastric Bypass & Lap Band Info, Post-op Recipes, and Help that has a bunch of different brands in it.

That would be Cape Cod in the summer (it was WONDERFUL for this Tennessee girl - "high humidity" on Cape Cod was bliss to me). You probably don't want to be there for the winter, though. -
Skany Evil Repulsive Patient Coordinators
anonemouse replied to WASaBubbleButt's topic in Rants & Raves
Like I've said before, WASa doesn't exactly pull punches about Mexico. She's honest about the docs that don't have great complication statistics, that are completely crappy docs, that lack follow-up or don't do the complete surgery themselves. She's also been completely honest about which areas of Mexico are not desirable areas (I believe she's called them "the armpits of Mexico"). And yet we're supposed to believe that she's a coordinator for surgeons in Mexico? Please, the woman doesn't even tell everyone that the surgeon she used is perfect for everyone. She's an advocate for people DOING THEIR RESEARCH and choosing THE BEST SURGEON FOR THEM. If someone fails to do the research and chooses a surgeon based on their own subjective reasons, they can't come back and blame someone else for not telling them about their surgeon. They should have researched him and found out everything about him before they committed to using him. The fact is, like I said earlier in this thread, events that are not isolated will be talked about among former patients. And if an event is isolated, there's just as much chance of it occuring with a US surgeon as a Mexican one. So if, for example, someone chooses a certain Mexican surgeon and gets pissed off after surgery because he doesn't do any of the aftercare himself, that is something they would have known about in advance if they had researched because it's common knowledge among his patients. -
I guess. I just wish my taste buds hadn't decided to change right when I was craving the yummy fried stuff. :think

I was thinking more along the lines of Wayne Newton or the "I know toasted" guy. -
Well, I have a hard time with just about any bread, but the easiest to get down is usually crispy or well-toasted bread. I just generally don't bother anymore, since it takes so long to eat and I can't eat much else if I do eat it. And I used to be a MAJOR bread addict. When I used to go to Red Lobster, it wouldn't be unusual for me to eat 5 or 6 biscuits. I went a couple of weeks ago and just had the garlicky top of one (not much of the soft inside).
-
I can eat everything on that list, except the waffles/pancakes (I can eat those if I don't have good restriction). A lot of people can't eat pasta, though. I personally can't eat soft breads.
-
There's a Kroger and some other small-chain grocery store. Well, Walmart, too.
-
Ooh, that sounds good. I'll have to see if I can find them at my local grocery store. But here in BFE Kentucky, not sure I will.
-
I got them from a restaurant. I think they were steamed.
