Well, I refaxed them the results of the tests, and they resubmitted everything to insurance today. I am hoping to hear back from the insurance company next week.

Wheetsin's definitive thread on Reputation and Rep Power
anonemouse replied to Wheetsin's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
Well, I did the same thing to some people, so I'd be a fool and an idiot not to accept your apology. Look on the bright side, though, I was actually blaming someone else for what you wrote to me. The way I reacted in turn is embarassing, because I usually don't act like that. So, like you, I apologize to everyone I sent an overly hateful message to. -

Oh, dear. I'm pretty sure that wouldn't have helped. -

I have to say that the type description links that are in the results of the test that Wheetsin posted are pretty darn accurate descriptions, in my case at least. -

According to the link Wheetsin posted, I'm an INTJ, which is what I think I was when I took it before. According to this, I am in the right occupational field for my type, which is nice. -

You and me both. -
Yeah, I'd say the fewer severe complications is probably one of the big reasons.

MBTI and weight loss

I remember taking the test during my freshman year of college for an honor program thing, but I don't remember exactly what I got. The test isn't highly respected, though, because most people's results change when they retake it. -
Oh! My washing machine and dryer! Never, EVER again will I live in an apartment or house without at least a hook-up. I despise the laundromat. My clothes always come out of them smelling worse than when they went in because all the laundomats around here allow smoking. My dishwasher is another necessity. I really hate washing dishes. I've been known to throw out dishes and pans instead of washing them by hand.
-
Oh dear. That's too funny!
-
At this point, I can't even imagine it. That would be nice, though. Yes, we can! And congrats on stopping smoking. You're doing great!

The only thing better than bread or potatos is pasta, IMO, so I think I'll stick with my regular homemade lasagna recipe, instead of going the potato lasagna route.

Homosexual Liberal Atheists ~ What's UP with that?
anonemouse replied to paladin's topic in Rants & Raves
I've washed my pillows before, but that's because I am incredibly picky about them and it's hard to find satisfactory replacements. Plus, I have history of having night sweats (so much fun at 23), so it is much cheaper to go to a laundromat every so often to wash them than it is to buy new ones and hope I like them. -
I've got them saved on a flash drive. I am trying to be civil with her (believe me, it's a chore at this point) because I figure it will only get worse if I'm rude. At this point, I'm sort of stuck. This surgeon is one of only two in the state that my insurance is willing to cover. She's also the most experienced of the two. I really am wishing that I decided to go out of state for surgery, though, because I am starting to lose patience.
-
Yep, she's done it before. And the other surgeon's office did it to me, too. Luckily, I have been replying with the same string of emails, so I have proof that she emailed me and told me that she had the results. I should have just told her to look about 4 or 5 emails down in the message, and she'd see her own reply stating that she had my results.
-
I say give cash. Since the couple didn't bother to accomodate people with more limited income, I think that's a fine compromise between buying something that they might not like and spending a ton on something from the registry.
-
I just got an email from her, and what do you think was in it? Yet again, she is asking for test results that I already faxed to her and that she already told me she had. Argh. This is impossible.

Woo HOO!! Supreme Court upholds Partial Birth Abortion Ban!!!!
anonemouse replied to gadgetlady's topic in Rants & Raves
There are thousands of children waiting to be adopted. They just happen to either be too old for people that want little babies, too sick or handicapped, or the wrong color. It isn't "fashionable" for a white couple to have a black child. They want either white babies or Asian babies (or black babies from Africa). -
To be honest, I wouldn't bother doing any of it. It seems like they just invited the person for a gift. I think that if I haven't seen a family member for 10 years, and it wasn't someone I was previously close to, I am excused from attending the wedding. But I hate weddings, so that's just me. If the person does insist on going to the wedding or shower, I think etiquette says that you only have to buy one gift. Either buy one for the shower or buy one for the wedding, but not both. Either way, though, use the provided registry. Or go with cash, since that's always popular.

Woo HOO!! Supreme Court upholds Partial Birth Abortion Ban!!!!

I was just looking this up, and it is amazing how many women die pregnancy-related deaths in the world today. From what I can find, the chance of a woman dying from a pregnancy-related issue is something like 1 in 10,000 in the USA, 1 in 2,400 in Europe (I think Eastern Europe), and 1 in 16 (16!) in sub-Saharan Africa. -

And these risks go up with poverty and ethnic group. An African-American woman is four times as likely to die from pregnancy-related issues than a white woman. -

How can you tell what another member's reputation is? I know that their rep power is listed under the number of posts they've made, but where is the reputation listed? -
Well, I emailed her again, since she still hadn't responded to the email I sent her on the 18th. I figured that 8 days was more than enough time to wait for a response, and that if I hadn't received one by this morning, I probably wasn't going to get one. So we'll see how long it takes her now. If I hadn't already spent so much time trying to get the surgery approved, and if this surgeon wasn't one of only two bariatric surgeons that my insurance would cover in Tennessee, and if the other surgeon that my insurance would cover was more experienced, I'd be very tempted to change surgeons again.
