    Gun Enthusiasts Mobilize

You want to be able to discriminate and violate the Constitution, Jack, and yet you still want your Second Amendment rights (ignoring the fact that the Supreme Court disagrees with you about what those rights are). Don't you see the irony there? And the fact is, if they are accepting government funding, they have to play by the government's rules. And that means no discrimination.

Yes, it is, actually. You see, they are standing up for the spirit of the law. Free speech means nothing if only the people that have agreeable messages can use it.

I am very offended by the B**love post

I could understand the outrage if that thread was actually endorsing the practice of pedophilia. It's isn't, though. Every single post in the thread is expressing absolute disgust with it. How is that not acceptable? And again, if you hate the thread and think it is improper, don't look at it. It's really that simple.

Well, there isn't any rule forcing you to look at it. If you don't want to, don't. It has no pictures or anything like that in it, it was simply posted to get discussion going. Sort of a "That's disgusting" post, IMO.

    That's weird

How does something become offensive on a cat forum?

Homosexual Liberal Atheists ~ What's UP with that?

I like her until she laughs or says something like "romantical". It's like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. Seriously, I twitch every timer I hear her laugh.

To me, you can't get much better than my tattered old version of the Betty Crocker cookbook. I love it because it gives detailed instructions, and it has explanations of commonly used terms and techniques. Plus, lots of pictures. I really need to start my own recipe collection. I have an entire drawer at my parents' house filled with cookbooks and cut-outs of recipes. I need to sit down at the computer one day and type them all up and put them in a binder that I can eventually pass down.

    That's weird

Apparently, you can only be a contributing member of OH if you always agree with everyone else and never post anything that can be taken even remotely offensively. To me, it totally defies the whole point of a message board. Don't like a certain person? Have all replies that they've made to your threads or posts deleted. Someone disagreed with you? Have their post deleted. The whole thing is stupid. To top it off, apparently lots of folks there are 5th graders in disguise. They are always screaming, "You're attacking me!!!" whenever someone slightly disagrees with them. Heck, they yell that even when people DO agree with them and try to offer suggestions. "You're calling me a bad mother!!!" was a thread-starter's response when someone said that she needs to stop giving her runaway daughter privileges. I go over there every so often, and then I always get so pissed at the childishness that is so common there. I just come running back over here, where it's sane.

    Sand Creek Massacre

The site of the Sand Creek Massacre finally became a historic site today. I can remember reading about it when I was little (I was really into Native American history for a while) and being absolutely horrified that those people could do what they did to people who weren't even hostile. I am so glad that our nation is finally stepping up and acknowledging what happened.

    Sand Creek Massacre

Yep. If anyone ever wonders why liberals are so antsy with the current administration in power, all they have to do is look at our country's history. Dissenters usually aren't well-treated.
  11. The man "goofed up" by being stupid enough to lie under oath. Unfortunately, "impeachment" and being "disbarred" are consequences of that "goof up".
  12. :tsk:So it's like NAMBLA, yet Christian. :fear:

Homosexual Liberal Atheists ~ What's UP with that?

I like watching Emiril and Bobby Flay sometimes, but my favorite is Alton Brown. He's just such a dork that it's funny. I'm not fond of Barefoot Contessa, or Giada, or Rachel Ray. I can only watch them in small doses. But I will watch them any time to avoid watching Paula Deen.

Homosexual Liberal Atheists ~ What's UP with that?

Speaking of, I'm going to Memphis next weekend for Memphis in May (my brother and dad are competing in the canoe race), so I'll be sure to go to Rendevous and think of you guys while I'm eating BBQ!:biggrin1: :heh:

If you're ever in Memphis, you guys need to check out Rendesvous. They are one of the most well-known, oldest BBQ places in Memphis. The outside doesn't look like much (neither does the inside, to be honest), but they are famous for their dry-rub ribs.

    Anyone From Ky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi! I'm currently living in the Richmond area. I may be going to Louisville for a support group at Norton Hospital once I have surgery (if I can't find one closer), so maybe we'll see each other then.

    The dreaded word: Exclusion

From what I've heard, unless you can talk your company into dropping the exclusion, you probably won't have luck with appeals. I have a different insurance carrier. The first thing you should do, though, is check the benefits and make sure that your company hasn't put an exclusion in that policy, as well.
  20. Now that you mention it, that was what threw me off, also. Singing Kumbaya was one of the worst parts of church camp for me. Well, that and the prayer circles, where I'd have to sit and pretend that I was praying along. It was freakin' creepy.
  21. I agree. Positive comments being allowed, if they were anonymous, would still be great. Like Mark, though, I experienced several people giving me nasty, hurtful comments because they didn't like my views and were apparently trying to harm my reputation. The positive notes are a really good pick-me-up, though, especially when yo don't know who they are coming from. So, if you do bring it back, I think you should make it anonymous again. The anonymous messages (the good ones, at least) were like getting a secret admirer's note. It was nice.

The saltiness is what makes bacon, bacon. My aunt and uncle brought up some turkey bacon last year when they came to stay with us for a few days. Worst meat product I've ever tastes, by far. There were no redeeming qualities to it. It had a vaguely bacon-ish flavor, but was way too thick and had no saltiness to it. Waste of time, IMO. Another of my uncles owns a Subway, and he always brings Subway stuff when he comes to stay with us. He'll bring bags and bags of their cookie dough, and he's also bring a bag or two of their bacon, which is the best bacon ever, IMO. It's precooked, so all you do is throw it in the microwave for about a minute for a plateful, and eat. No bacon stink in your kitchen, just ultra thin, crispy, salty goodness.

    Getting a tad irritated.

Yeah, it will. It's basically the same policy that I am covered under right now, but I am having to change from my parents' policy to one of my own when I turn 24.
  24. I emailed my surgeon's office manager last Wednesday to see if she could send me an update on how everything is going. Have I heard from her? Nope. Usually she responds within 24 hours, but not this time. This is so freaking frustrating.

    Getting a tad irritated.

No, I didn't. I don't think they would do much good at this point. If they decide to give me a late surgery date, I will raise holy hell, though, and they will be used then. I need to have surgery before August 2nd, or I'll have to go through all this again because I am changing insurance policies on that date.
