So far I do not have a pre-op diet. I am meeting with the surgeon on Thursday so maybe he will tell me different. I do not see why I would need one ... did they tell you why you are doing one? What do you have to do? I know that my surgery is on a wednesday so that monday I have to start a liquid diet. Not clear liquids but any type of liquid.
I kind of want to stay the night. My case manager said that I will feel better and more rested the next day because I will have nurses waiting on me and hand and foot and I won't have distractions... so why not?

Hi I am Kelly and I am getting banded February 25th. i need to lose 105 pounds... yikes... any suggestions for the liquid diet that i will be on after?

so phantom was not all that great. had a great date but didnt LOVE the play. oh well at least i didnt have to pay for it! hahaha! so what clothing websites are you looking at? i checked out some of those videos. she is kind of funny when she is all loaded ha ha! i am silly right now... totally up late doing homework and studying for an exam and i am sooo tired! my insurance approved me to stay overnight. i am going too. why not right? extra TLC... right around the corner. it keeps getting more real every day. so weird and i cant believe its really happening to me! how are you dealing?

I just went to a pre op mandatory class last night. It all seems so real to me now. I am nervous! I am nervous about not having coffee anymore, I am nervous about not having soda anymore, I am nervous about the surgery... but I am excited too. OK had to vent.:bananalama: Anyone else getting banded on February 25th -
Yeah that is totally true about the clothes. I have some from pre baby that I never threw out because I hoped that someday I would be able to wear them again. I must say I am more nervous now. I went to my pre op class tonight and it is so real to me now. I am way nervous. There was a lady there that was getting gastric because her band didnt work for her! I was like no way that sucks! My doctor said those little protein shooters are no good because they are hydrolized protein and those are not the same as regular protein. i guess after three years of using them they just stopped.

i am doing much better now that your surgery is the 11th. i was feeling terrible for you! i have been denied twice and trying for ten months so i knew almost exactly how you were feeling. i am starting to get nervous and excited... i read peoples posts and some say that it didnt work for them and what if it doesnt work for me?

Yes I originally had an HMO and began the process last April but I got denied twice. My doctor never told me what I needed to do to get approval. Finally in August he said to me, if you had a PPO, you could just go... so I waited for open enrollment which came in November and I switched to PPO, called my surgeon and began the process. I too was done with all the pre op testing immediately! So now I am waiting until the 25th! I have been overweight my whole life too and I am dying to just wear a pair of shorts. I do have this fear that it may not work for me because nothing else has...jenny craig twice, weight watchers twice, atkins, etc.. -
ok so two more weeks... sucks... i am no doctor but i dont think it is that healthy to be on a liquid diet that long either. can you call and ask them what to do? maybe give yourself like 5 days of normal eating and then start again. jay, you are 26 years old too? we both have our whole lives ahead of us... and the bright side is that you will be getting it done closer to the same time that i will! we can do this together...

Oh my god jay no way. That is terrible. DO NOT GIVE UP. He will be back in town. Keep doing what you are doing and DO NOT GIVE UP. if you stop now and tell him then you might have to start the whole pre op diet over again. Trust me on this and please dont give up. I woudl be so upset. I sending you hugs. i am so sorry.

Congrats on losing 4 pounds! Man I have SO much to do this week, I am stressing out. I made out a list of all the homework, quizzes, exams, and papers that I have. Then I made a list of all the extracurricular things that I have to do. I am crossing them off one by one lol... got up early this morning to do more homework.

Help! My mother is driving me nuts. I was going to bring her to my last appt with the surgeon but I cant trust her to keep her mouth shut and to be positive. I told her she can only come if she is positive support so she said well she will REALLY need to prep for that...and so I told her dont even come. So frustrating. She embarressed me at the seminar back in October. Now she wants to go to the Mandatory Pre Operative Question class. Its a group class and my boyfriend will be there too for support. I hope she can control herself.. anyone else have this problem?

Jill! I got goosebumps just now! Yes I am using Dr. Billy too! I will be at the mandatory pre op class on wednesday night, i have my last pre op appt with Dr. Billy on the 12th and then on the 25th I will be banded. How did it go for you? Tell me everything :tongue: P.S. I am SO happy to meet someone near me on here who has gone to Dr. Billy!!!
