OH cool I worked for Wells Fargo when I was in high school. That was a nice job. I have only told my immediate family, two very close friends, and my boyfriend. I do not really want to hear anything negative about and someone always has something to say lol. Yeah my boyfriend says there is more of me to love right now but he will be there for me. He just wants me to be happy but if I were to not lose weight he would be ok with it. How long have you been with your man?
I go to school at Moorpark and Ventura Community College. I just got my AA last semester. I am transferring to CSUN this fall. I work full-time for a work comp/pharmaceutical company. I am a single mommy and my daughter is three. It is taking me a while to get through school but I keep pluggin away. I only go at night.

OMG that is terrible. My doctors office suggested that I used the surgical loan. Fortunately open enrollement came around and I switched insurances last November. I had been getting declined since last April. I am waiting on authorization right now. I have talked to several people on here that have used Dr. Kuri in Mexico. For $7500 you get the surgery and several nights stay in a fabulous hotel in Mexico. One woman whom I still talk to swears by it and she said you just make a phone call and go down there and do it. She said even if she had insurance she would not use it becuase of all the hoops we have to jump through and the waiting. But to each her own. Good luck and I am so sorry that totally sucks. -

I would not tell them. I only told my boss and my boyfriend who works with me. No one is a mind reader so they wont know. Just tell them that you are sick. I am telling people that I am just taking a few days off. As far as the weight loss goes I have been telling people that I kicking my butt back into weight loss gear in February. I am eating what I want until then - and then I am getting serious about it. -

Thanks! When were you banded? I am going through insurance so it will be at St. Johns. I am waiting on authorization right now. Nancy called me on Saturday and asked me to fax her my psyche eval and then Becky called me on Monday and said my authorization is in the works. She scheduled me my last appointment before surgery with Dr. Billy next friday. I am dying while waiting for authorization! Where do you live? Do you still attend support groups? I need to go to one. I live in Simi Valley. What is your name?

Thanks I am dying with anticipation. I have been trying since last April and finally switched to a PPO in November. Since then its been smooth sailing so I hope it gets approved!!!!! -
I am having it done in Oxnard at St. Johns. My surgeon is the director of Bariatric there. I was told at my initial consultation last month that once I am approved it is like two weeks from there. I want to wait until the end of February though because I am going to Bakersfield with some girl friends next month and they dont know about it so I dont want them wondering why I am only drinking liquids lol...
did you grow up out here? are you in college? do you work? do all your friends know or are you keeping it quiet?

wow i have no idea how long... they said it could be up to two weeks. i have been trying since last april and i finally switched to a PPO at open enrollment in November and since then it has just gone smoothly. my last appt before the surgery is next friday. i have done all my preops already. so they must have high spirits if they scheduled the last appt... i cant wait i am dying of anticipation!

Ok so my final appointment with the surgeon has been scheduled. It is friday, February 6th. I am excited. The authorization is still in process but they must feel pretty confident if they are to schedule me the last appointment right? God I hope it goes through! -
Hi thanks for the ipod advice... how is it going afterwards? did you go through insurance? PPO or HMO? or did you pay cash? My authorization was sent in on saturday... i am dying to know if i get authorized!

OK! SO! The lady who does the authorizations called me yesterday and said that I needed to fax her my psyche evaluation and once I did that she would send in my packet for authorization. Of course I went straight to Kinkos and faxed it immediately. Please keep for your fingers crossed for me that I will get authorization! She said it will take about two weeks to find out. I know that some of you said that you looked on the insurance website and could see when your authorizations were sent through... where do I look? I looked on my insurance account online and did not see anything about authorizations... well anyways... this is what it all comes down too... Hopefully I will get authorized so I can be a February bandster!!! :confused: -

Ya that would totally be annoying. That is why I want my date to be the end of Feb because I am going on a trip with my girlfriends that I go on every February and I am not telling them about the LapBand so theyll be wondering why I am on a liquid diet
So the sleep test was not bad at all for me. I was in a beautiful and comfortable bedroom and I knew the nurse from my other pre-op visits. It was really easy. I did not need the apnea mask so the nurse said that she is pretty sure that I don’t have it. my follow up is on the 10th and it will be via phone.

so how did you receive your approval? how cool is that! about the sleep study i was told that i would be in a very comfortable room with a tv that i can watch until ten pm... they said to bring a pillow or stuffed animal that makes me comfortable lol... -

Ok so on friday I got a call that they had completed my packet for insurance. They are submitting it for authorization. They said it will be about two weeks to get the auth. I hope it goes through! Tomorrow night is my sleep study. I have to be there at 9pm and lights are out at 10pm. I am way nervous for that. They said after my auth goes through they will give me a surgery date. Keep your fingers crossed for me that it gets approved!!!
