I started out going through Dr. Castro but I too was displeased with the amount of time in between signing up and my initial appointment.. At the initial appointment I spent nearly 2 hours in the waiting room and 5 minutes with Dr. Castro. I was really not pleased. I have switched to Dr. Wade Barker and have thus far been pleased with everything. His staff is very courteous and he is very thorough. I will have surgery in March 09. I agree with the others, if you are unpleased at this point, how will rest of the process turn out? -
Thanks girl! I actually only started the girlfriends group. I taught for 7 years, then I was an instructional specialist for 1 year. I have been a high school assistant principal for the past 2 years. Like you, I am really considering going back to the classroom for real! I am in Birmingham, Alabama.

Hey April. You are looking great girly. I just got my consult date- December 3rd and it is looking like I may not be banded until March or April. I am excited and can not wait.... I noticed the groups you started... Are you a teacher? I taught for 13 years and now am a counselor but I am thinking about going back into the classroom.... Where are you located?

I am soooo excited. I got my consult date today! I am having my initial consult on Dec 3rd. I have to do a 6 mos supervised diet but I am ready because I have already done two of the 6 so I am ready!

Thanks girl. They say that slow and steady wins the race. I hope they're not lying! Anywhoo your time will come hang in there! I went to my seminar last Oct. and started my 6 mos diet in Nov. I was finally banded in Sept. Just be patient and it will be here in no time!

Having a great doctor makes all the difference. I am using a doctor that my secretary and also one of my girlfriends used and they rave about him so I am really excited. And both of them look awesome.

My banding has been ok i had a screwed up doc at first but ive changed and it has made all the difference! i work out quit a bit so im losing more inches but still satified! i have the lapband holds 10-12cc. i have 7cc in it right now and can't hardly eat! but im doing well.

I totally understand that wanting to be with your child's father. I have a 15 year old and there are times now when I see his father that I think about us being together. So those are normal feelings. We have to keep in touch and support one another.

Thanks and i understand thatnow i was holding on to a dream w have a son together and i felt like we should be together but im glad but he lied and had another baby and now him and has bm/gfriend are happy but im glad he did that im glad he stepped off we didn't match and im doing great with out him i needed somethig he couldn't provide for me im not saying he is a bad person but he was not the right dude for me but once i get banned and i do drop the weight i can bet all that i have we will be back saying he always loved me and it was everybody else in his head but to long so gone i have my consult and i can't wait to get started i don't drink or smoke so i dont think i have to done alot of testing i hope i just want to get started i haven't told any of my friends yet i just told my dad he was happy about it he usually he worries about everything i wish you the best of luck and please keep my udpdated w ur process and ill check in with u about mine

Hey Trina. I am waiting for my insurance approval. I am soooo excited and I can not wait. How has your banding been? Which band do you have? Realize or another one. Let me know girly.
