Addy, So you got a fill today, Monday? This makes #4 for me. I always hate going in, but it is so worth it after it is over with. I went to College in Conway and worked one summer at the Human Development Center and I loved it! I worked in the kitchen, goes along with my Home-ec degree, which it is not called Home-ec anymore, lol. But anyway, yes I loved that summer working there. I love special needs individuals, always have, always will. God Bless You. Lucy

Hello everyone, Those of you talking about weather, well, it's crazy here in Arkansas as well. Yesterday, we were outside playing and today is freezing rain, you never know. Allie, so sorry about the pay cut. When I decided to go back to teaching I took an $8,500. pay cut. And I signed up for it!! LOL! Seriously, I had to make some changes in my life and I had prayed about so I knew that God would take care of us. We just cut back on going out so much and making wiser choices and we are fine. Apples, glad your stones passed. My mom fought with those ugly things for years. Good news...I called my doctors office this morning to make an appointment for a fill. She told me they could see me this afternoon. So my husband took off early and went with me (bad weather) and I got my 4th fill today. He put in another cc, I don't know what I am up too. I have not kept up with it. So anyway, I've just been sipping on broth and we will see how my eating changes in the meantime. I am glad I made the decision to go ahead and go for a fill, thanks Allie :tongue2: I did cancel my appointment with my personal trainer because of the freezing rain. I will meet with her Tuesday. Hope everyone has a good night. Sincerely, Lucy

Personal Introduction-Working out my Ideas
lucyavery replied to WorkHorse999's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey, your doctor will give you packet on what you can eat and what you can't eat. Follow it and you should be okay. I can tell that you are really scared of gaining the weight back. I think you are dwelling on that too much. For me, in my mind I do not even consider gaining the weight back, that is just not an option. I see this as my one and only chance to lose the weight and this is MY time. I WILL make it work, no turning back. keep positive, eat healthy and exercise. Lucy -
Oh yes, you might want to go to work sober I am so excited to start working with my personal trainer. How crazy is that, I'm excited to be in pain! Hope everyone is doing well.

I am 5 pounds away from Onederland...I can see the light.

I am so sorry you are going through this. I lost my mom nearly one year ago, it was very sudden and tramatic. I did not have the band at the time. However, I was eating healthy, exercising and losing weight. I had never felt better, well that all went down hill fast. I stopped working out and eating healthy, I totally went back to my old ways and gained a little weight back. It was June 08 when I had my surgery. Like everyone else said, go in and get a fill before it gets more out of hand than 20 pounds. Take care of yourself, be good to yourself, I'm sure that is what your mom would have wanted. Bless you,
-
Glad you are doing good. I love my band and do not have any regrets.

what offensive things have people said to you while on you weightloss journey?
lucyavery replied to Brandy~'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
OOOHHH! That was just plain mean.....I would have probably had to say something back, and that is not even in my nature:mad2:. -
Oh, I am so sorry. I was looking at your pictures and you look really good. I'm sure you will not let yourself gain your weight back, think about how far you have came. I know I would be devestated if I woke up and my band was gone also. Try to stay strong and postitive. God Bless You,

Oh, let me correct myself. Addy, you are the one from Arkansas...got it. Lucy

Hello everyone, I am in central Arkansas about 45 miles west of Little Rock. So Allie, I see you are in the very corner. I can't say that I have ever been to Texarkana. I did go to Dallas a few years ago but slept most of the trip. So I don't know if we went through Texarkana or not. It is another lovely day here today. So me and DH and the kiddos got outside we walked about 1/2 mile before we had to turn around, due to my 2 year old wanting to get out of the wagon and run around. I feel really good today so I will get on my ellipitical in a bit. I am so ready to go back to work on Monday. Bless you all, lucy

I'm sure there is a 2009 group. Go to the main forum page and scroll down to the various groups. I often look at the 30 bandsters and the banded in 2008, June group.
I hope your band wishes come true soon.

Hey I just wanted jump in here and say that I had my surgery done by Dr. Lutrell and so did my aunt. We both really like him, he is great and really good on the fills. I have not had to have another in nearly 4 months. Lucy

Oh, I know isn't it wonderful to finally be in control of ones life and KNOWING that your life is changing for the better. I love it. My thoughts on missing all the goodies during the holidays is this...I have had all the goodies for years, everyday has been a buffet of eating what ever I want, this feels so much better. Good luck to you. Lucy

Wow! I love your imagination...or maybe it's not an imagination at all...hummm? Great post.

Who have you told about your surgery? Why?
lucyavery replied to irishgal's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I guess in thinking about this question, I have told lots of people. All my family, some people at church, friends and neighbors. At first I was not tellng a lot of people, only family, but my husband was telling lots of people and he told me to be proud of it...so I went with it. I'll tell people and talk about it with those who I am close too and those who ask. However, I don't tell total strangers unles it comes up in converstation. -
I fit into my "skinny" jeans this morning!
lucyavery replied to Mim's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey congrats on the skinny jeans! Yes, exercise will help you lose inches and it may not be reflected on the scale. Losing inches is a great success...keep up the good work. -
Banded Yesterday-OMG do I hurt
lucyavery replied to norouteplanned's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Angie, I was banded 6 months ago with a 2 year old and 4 year old. They stayed with my dad for a couple of days while I recovered. I was sore and my husband was here with me. It was not terrible but it was my 1st surgery so I don't know how to compare it to something else. I just did not pick the kids up or let them crawl all over me for a few days. As far as the gas pain....walk...walk....walk. Good luck, you can do this. -
Hey,
Glad you found the sight. I found it after my surgery as well. Don't get down, look at how much you have lost. You are doing great. Just read as much as your can and stay postive and focused.
Now, let me tell you..there is some negative stuff and information that can be counterproductive on this site. Just stay away from negative information and junk.
Keep working toward your goals, you can do this.
The way I see it is that this is my only chance to lose the weight for good, this is my time and I have to make it work because I won't get another chance like this.
Many blessings,
Lucy

Hello everyone, I was banded on June 19th 2008. I am really impressed with all of your weightloss. I have been really proud of myself, but wow, some of you are really dropping the pounds. I just hired a personal trainer and will strart working with her on Monday, I'm so excited. I know for my body type, when I exercise, I see results. Right now I just need a kick in the rear, that is why I hired one. Also one of my new years resolution is to exercise a little everyday no matter how much. These past two weeks have been difficult. I am a teacher so we have been off for two weeks and that has gotten me out of my regular routine. But I have lost weight. In fact since getting banded I have not put on any weight at all. It has been a slow steady loss. What I love most about the band is the fact that the weight is not coming back on, and I do not plan for it to ever come back on. With diets in the past, I would lose then the weight would always come back on. I love my band. I am need of another fill and plan to make an appointment when the office opens back up on Monday. Allie, I know there is no better feeling than coming home to a clean house. When my house is clean, I'm happy. My four year old and I just finished putting up the last of the Christams decorations and I feel sooooo good! It is a nice day here today so as soon as my 2 year old gets up from her nap we are going outside to ride bikes. Well, let me be honest....Avery will ride her bike, Brenn will ride her tricycle and I will walk. Who know, I may even break into a jog. Avery and I jogged back from the mailbox at my dads house the other day and it is atleast a 1/4 of a mile. I have so much more energy and I looove it!!!!! Best wishes and Blessings,

Wow, that was willpower not to eat them. Good for you, I'm not so sure what I would have done in that situation. Keep up the good work.
