Did you stay overnight?
lucyavery replied to lilith's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery at about 8:00 am and was home by 2 or 3:00 that afternoon. I was glad to be home. Yes, I was sore, but glad to be in my own chair and bed. I was sore for about a week but the more I walked the better I got. Good luck to you -

lucyavery replied to Weas123's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Hey congrats on the 99 lbs. That is awesome and you are so close!! My husband cannot stand Lisa R. he say's she is so phoney. I guess he is right:wink2:. Yes, I like Rick and Jayne also.

Long, OMG! You worked at QVC? How cool was that, so you used to live in PA? So can you tell me, who was your favorite host? I like David V., Lisa R., Patti R., Antoniella N., and Leah W. the best. Yes, my mom loved Jeannie. She gets on my nerves sometimes. I have lots of jewerly, clothes, shoes, makeup but I guess my favorite is Philosophy, it makes me feel so pampered. I've not watched too much today. I'm not really into gold. However, I will be glued to the TV on March 1st. I love silver jewlery, and that also happens to be my anneversary, so I'll have to get something :w00t:

Hey ladies, I'm feeling a bit better. My doc gave me some antibiotics so that has helped. Addy, I hope the back gets better soon, that sounds miserable. Hey Long...I love QVC. I did see PX90 workout you got. It looked pretty tough. I had to hold myself back yesterday with the Maxx New York handbags. I have two maxx bags and love them. That is my weakness and something I splurge on is designer hand bags. I have watched qvc for about 11 years. My mom got me hooked, she was a qvc queen and loved Quacker Factory. I have lots of Quacker Factory. Allie, I hope the fill hits the spot for you! OMG, I gotta go my daughter just came in with a Kotex pad on the bottom of each foot like a stick on pair of slippers.......ugh!!!! (The drive me nuts sometimes)

Oh I feel for you, I know the left shoulder pain was the worst. It hurt to move or even breath at times. Mine has passed, thank God. I am sorry you are going through this. lucy

I'm not banded, my 19 year old daughter is - help!
lucyavery replied to lapbandmom89's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm sorry, as a mom I can hear your concern and frustration in your post. She has an amazing tool to change her life, but if she does not use the band like it is meant to be, little good it does. Maybe you can go with her to the support group meetings at her doctors office. Or look into professional support, councling. If she could get on her and read the messages, that would help. I wish you the best of luck. -
Third fill and something is very different and strange!!!
lucyavery replied to Mrs. Bubba's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well, I don't really know about the cramping and such. You probalby are sore from the proding and poking. I know for me, my 3rd fill was when I hit restriction. I could drink just fine and eat about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of food at a time. That was back in October 08, I have since had my 4th fill, but for some reason it did not restrict me as much as the 3rd, wierd. Right now I can eat about 1 cup of food. I am at a good place right now because I can eat healthy foods, protiens and veggies and fill up on them. You probably are at a good spot for restriction. Now about your pain and discomfort, I would say if it does not get any better then go see your doctor. Best of luck to you -
Hey congrats on getting the band. It can change your life, but remember you have to do your part too. I am happy for you and wish the best of luck!!!!! lucy

Hey everyone, just checking in. I've been under the weather all week. I have an appointment with my doc today. Not lab band related it's head and congestion and fever crud. Hope everyone is having a good week.

I only weigh once a week. Every thursday and I document it on my calendar. Do I want to weigh everyday?...YOU BET! But I keep myself from doing it because the fluctuations will drive me crazy and I have enough emotional stuff going on without inflicting more on myself. Good luck, lucy
-
Just keep in mind that you did this for you and no body else. This is your time and don't let anyone take that away from. Be happy for yourself, keep moving forward and be positive. If she say's anything else, tell her that this is not about her, it's about you and your life, health and happiness. Best of luck to you, and I'm sorry you are in that position.

Oh my, shaking my head in disbelief! Oh no not at you all, but the fact that Jacqui said Hershey chocolate bombed downunder. What!Really??? Who would have thought Hershey's would bomb anywhere. I'm just kidding by the way, my attempt at lame humor. Yes, I have cravings and when I do, I eat what I want. I never tell myself that something is off limits because that will make me want it more. We are only human.

How often do you weigh?
lucyavery replied to Twilight's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Only once a week and Thursday's is my weigh in day. That is just the day I desginated for my weigh in's. I then record the weight on my calandar that is right by the scale. -
Hey congrats to everyone...Way to go Long, you should be excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My weekly weigh in day is on Thursdays, so I will let you all know how I am doing. I have up'd my water intake so I hope that helps. Feeling like I'm coming down with a sore throat and head cold right now. I hate being sick!!!:scared2: Teach, I am not what I would consider real tight, but sometimes I have trouble with scrambled eggs, dkw? Also, I am like Allie, usually can't eat untill 10 or 11 in the morning. Good luck everyone

Hey greyhoundmom, sorry to hear you are struggling. I had reflux before the band and when I was pregnant. I have not had any since being banded, thank goodness. It's great that you and Dh are doing a fitness challenge, good luck. Happy birthday brownbear.

Thanks for the tips girls! I for one enjoy lifting weights, and really don't care much for cardio. I told my trainer I need the cardio because that is my weakness, and if she let me all I would do is weight training. But I KNOW I need to incorpoate cardio to lose weight. I told her my goal is lose inches, because we all know the scale can lie. I have always wanted to be a runner, but I have never had the stamina. I gave my trainer the Couch to 5K program and told her I want to do that. lucy

I need to understand this better. So, does one need to push the cardio and get the heart rate up, then do a few sets of weight training, then back to cardio at high intensity, then back to weights. Is that what you mean? I think this is basically what my trainer has been doing with me. However, she always asks me if I need a break or need to catch my breath after the short cardio burst. Thanks

Okay, that's it..I'm booking a flight in the morning. Oh, just kidding!!! Apples, I'm glad you and DH is having a good time. God Bless you. Well Long, I agree with Addy it is coooold here in Arkansas. Down in the 20's and that is hard on us Southern gals. I had an SIL move to AR from CO a few years ago. Well we are known for our humidity and if you are not used to it, it can make your life miserable. Anyway, she could not breathe and could not go outside all summer. I for one enjoy the heat and don't mind the humidity...I like to think it keeps my skin soft and subtle My skin gets dry in the winter, but never in the summer. So yes, I agree 60's sound wonderful!! Hey Addy, glad your so close. My husband and I just agreed to a race to see who could get to below 200 first. He is 215, I really want to beat him!!! Well lets see, bone structure. I guess I would medium. I have never considered myself small. I am 5'4 and wore a size 7 shoe most of my life. When I got pregnant and gained a lot of weight my shoe size went up to an 8. Hey teach, glad your fill went well. They are never pleasant but bearable. Allie, are you still doing the bartending? How is that going, that could be a lot of fun. And yes, stay away from the wine, we don't want to start talking behind your back about your little "problem" Just kidding, just kidding. But since you mentioned it, I may have to have a small glass in just a minute. My kids have taken my last nerve and jumped up and down, up and down all over it. Hope everyone has a great and Blessed weekend. Lucy
