I'm curious to see how many have had a band slip..My Doctor said with these newer bands he's placed 400 or so and has only had 1 slip..But how would I know if I have a band that slipped? What would be symptoms? Or would I need to drink barium to find out? Thanks!

I don't have hypoglycemia, but I have alot of those symptoms at times, and I find I'm running low on protein.So I drink a shake and feel 100% better...

It could be worse, you could of self paid, like me..My fills are only covered 1 year and after that, you guessed it, I pay even more money! I'm fighting my insurance to remberse me, but I don't think I'll see a dime..Hang in there, it may be a blessing..For at least 2 weeks, I can't hardly eat, because no matter how much I chew, I still have a hard time..

I take and LOVE the viaciv calcium raspberry chews! And the I use different viamins, I use a gummy sometimes and centrum chewables,which I also can't stand, and have also had the viaciv vitamin chews but I don't care for them..I also found some gummy fish oil/omega 3 they are nasty, but I chew them with the centrum it helps them both taste better. It's all trial and error for me..

Kiz, please tell me you meant, 9cc in a 10cc band..I never heard of a 9cc band and how can it be overfilled? Wouldn't there be a risk of rupture?

Not to knock anyone who've gone to mexico, and as bad as it is getting here in the states, I would NEVER go outside of my own country to have any surgery and surely not to visit(vacation)..People know when you are a visitor and when you live there..

I do it too..I find if I stand up and eat this doesn't happen as much..4 pounds seems too much to be losing in a week, 2 pound's a week is the average. I actually lose about 10 pounds a month..

I don't drink everythime I eat but sometimes I just can't help it..I do try to wait 1 hour though..But I also notice when I do drink when I eat or shortly after It makes me fuller,longer..I thought the whole idea of waiting to drink was not to flush the food through faster! Some days when I haven't had enough caloies for the day I don't care if it does flush the food through..Yes, I am still losing the weight..Surgery was dec 19th and have lost about 35 pounds. 5-8 of them was while on vacation for 9 days, when I ate pretty much what I wanted, but we did ALOT of walking..I get my second fill on monday..If they will give it to me, I upchucked 4 times after chicken got stuck..So I'm not sure they will fill me..Hope so!

Yes, I had them both done at once..I wanted it that way, so I wouldn't have to have another surgery later..5 incisions.

I was self pay, cost 16,900..I opted to pay the extra 900 for 18 months for just in case..I live in Illinois..I think it's different cost in different states..

I was banded back in december, and I still do lots of burping..I'm assuming it's the norm for bandsters..Fine by me, I never claimed to be a "lady" anyways,lol...

I too was self pay, I was offered a package to pay an extra 900.00 to cover all expenses if my band needs replaced, for 18 months..If anything goes wrong, they say it's gonna happen within the first year..I'm sure there are exceptions to that though..

You are lucky, it has taken me as long as 30 mins.That by far is the worst part of being banded(for me)..Not to mention the sliming, omg that's so gross..But, a band has got to do what a band has got to do! lol..I also get to where it feels like my food sits in my chest..I know, chew,chew,chew..

My first fill was 3cc my second(this past mon) was 1cc..I have restriction..I had 1/4 cup of cottage cheese and I'm good..Only fluids for 2 days after a fill, then soft foods 3-7 days.

No you are not! I had my second fill today and I'd kill for REAL food..I have to have liquids for 2 days and then mushies for 3-7 days..But even on the days I can eat, If I am bored(I am a stay at home mom,caring for my disabled 21 year old son) I am on the rampage looking to eat..Usually right choices but some days are harder than others too..

Not sure any amount of lotion is gonna make our skin(s) bounce back at this point! I was a smoker too, quit almost 2 years ago..As far as my skin goes, both of my kids weighed OVER 9 pounds, beyond stretched.Oddly enough though, I have a tiny waist, and have always had..Not sure why.I can't buy pants without them bagging in the back.Also, depends on how much weight we have all put on too, it may be way to stretched out and age has alot to do with it too, and the most important factor is heritage..I have used face creams since my early 20's so I'm not too worried about that..But I am already looking into arm lifts..When I wave(which I rarely do) they keep right on waving,lol! They actually aren't as bad as they were but still got wings..If you or anybody finds this miracle lotion, please inform me too..LOL!

Nope! Thank Goodness, I have had other surgeries that caused me severe shoulder pains, but not this time..Got L-U-C-K-Y !

Just got back from vacation, was so hard when eating out not to have something, I normal would hurry and drink before my meal came, but for some reason I got stuck an awful lot.. My nut said the only reason not to drink was that the food would get flushed through not that it would stretch it..I dunno! Anyway, I have only had one fill having another on monday, it's a learning process! I sometimes forget that I have been banded...I have to tell myself to S-L-O-W down..I wonder how long it has taken others to actually remember to do all of the right things...I do want to do all the right things but I honestly forget sometimes,lol!

I agree! I think that's how we lose weight the most. I can't finish mine if it's to cold..I make up for it some days..And why is it some days I can eat a whole lot more than other days..
