On my liqued diet, I cheated with half a broiled chicken breast for lunch and the other half for dinner. Still lost 13lbs and surgery was no problem.

I have no food restrictions. My Dr. said to eat as normal.

Don't be scared of the PBing or getting sick because it does not happen to everyone. This is a big change towards a healthier you so do what you gut tells you but don't let some peoples horror stories dictate how your journey will go. Good Luck

I had my gallbladder out but not during lap band surgery. When I had it done it was 3 small incisions in the tummy and one in the belly button where they pulled the gallbladder out.

I had a horrible time after I had my gall bladder out. I knew where every bathroom on the south side of Chicago was. My gastro Dr. gave me Colestid which turned out to be a life saver. Since my surgery, I have not had to take my pills once. I was taking a horse pill twice a day. I am now super regular and normal. My surgeon says it's because I am eating healthier and cutting out all the greasy foods. Hopefully the band will help you too.

My surgeon had never heard of that happening before. My obgyn says it's because the change of foods that your body is going too. -

I'm with you. I think people need to worry about themselves and not what everyone else is doing. I am an athiest and could care less about the wording in a speech. I work for a police department, and you would not believe the petty crap people call in about. -
I too have been with the same three pounds since my first fill on 12/11 but I got an XL sweatshirt for Christmas and IT FIT! That made the pesky non-moving scale look a little better.

My Dr. did not put me on any type of restricted diet. He said just keep eating healthy. -
I was banded 10/30/08 and have lost 30lbs including pre-op diet.

Pre Op Diet help please
vonhelzing replied to bethm's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was supposed to be on full liqueds for 2 weeks and couldn't stand the hunger pain. I would eat 1/2 of grilled chicken breast for lunch and then another 1/2 for dinner. A liitle dry, but definetly helped with the pains. Lost 13lbs by surgery day. -
Did anyone start mushies earlier than they were supposed to?
vonhelzing replied to LSF's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Salome000, Thank you for posting what I have been thinking. I too posted a question and was berated. It seems there are so many post op diets from different drs that not all can be right of wrong. I agree, go with how you feel. I started solid foods early and feel great and am almost at the 30lbs mark since 10/16. -

I've told everyone at work and the support has been great. My co-workers are very proud of me and are inspired to be more healthy themselves. -
Hi everyone. I was banded 10/30/08 and have a post-op diet question. Without being told the dangers of not following the post-op diet, I was wondering if anyone ignored it and ate according to how they felt? Have you had any problems since doing it your own way? Thanks

Did they even do anything?
vonhelzing replied to MellyB's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm with you. If I didn't see the scars, I wouldn't believe they did anything. I don't even know where my port is.
