    Julie... Even though they removed 12lbs from me, 9lbs skin, 3lbs fat sucked out...I still weighed almost the same, about 3lbs difference. The swelling compensated for the weight removed. It took about week+ for the numbers to go down on the scale but the swelling is horrendous.

    They do the body fat % which calculates your current weight, waist size and age. Compared to my old bodyfat % number. So say I lose 10lbs and my waist is now a 24inches from 29 inches, my scale reads 125lbs..my height is 5ft 3... compared to before, it will show the difference and gain in muscle.

    I am at 25.06% body fat from 38% and I am trying to get to 12 - 15% boyfat by Spring. It's time to kick some serious Telly ass. Been lifting kinda heavy for me. I have been hitting some all time highs with 65 - 95lbs in the arms muscle groups. Legs - 235lbs leg press Squats - 100lbs (working on 155lbs) As you can see by my pictures, I am not comfortable with anyone else taking my photos. Short-term goal: Drop 15 - 20lbs by the first of the year Long-term goal: Drop 10-15% in body fat Long-term goal: Gain 5lbs of muscle There is a shadow on my bicep, lol..in case you think it's muscle you see here. NOT!:speechles

Everytime I set foot into my in-laws home, (god bless them) my sister(s)-in-law, brother(s)-in-law and Mother and father-in-laws constantly talk about weightloss and gain, diet and nutrition and ask me 1,000 questions. Mind you, this happens each time I enter their home. I mean, I'm in the kitchen eating with them or just walking in and then BAM! Never fails! Constant questioning/interrogation of diet, goals, etc. I swear they ask the same thing everyday all the time. Another gripe here... My sister wants me to create a workout regimine and good eating diet for her. She's about 195lbs @ 4ft 10. She just had a baby so she's new to the weight, however..... I tell her what foods to stay away from and what do I see her do every single time i set foot in the house? Butter'd bread in her mouth. Personal pan pizza in her oven, McDonalds bags, french fry frenzy and soda. She gets upset when i am over. She tries to hide her food, lol. Ok, I am putting together a plan for her but I don't think she will abide by it. Meanwhile she asks me the same questions every single time. "What should I eat and stay away from?" Yesterday she asked again, "What should I be eating to lose the weight?" (as she took out a personal pan pizza from the oven) and this time I said..."Vane..I have persisently and consistently told you the same exact thing every single time you see me. What more do you want me to say? My answer is not going to change.":huytsao
  8. You guys are right. It's neither here nor there. It just bugs me that weightloss has become an everday part of my life in some way, shape or form. I don't like feeling uncomfortable about my weightloss, I prefer to be happy about it and I don't intend to upset others or make them uncomfortable about their own bodies b/c of what I'm doing with mine. It's crazy, I can't explain.

    That's awesome Meme! You go girl! 45 minutes is quite a challenge. Julie, - you aren't out of shape. I know some people who can only do 1 minute or so on the treadmill and ellipitical..lol. So yeah.. you're good and you'll be even better as time progresses. Karey, sounds like better news than from before. Keeping your heart rate under 150 is doable. My target HR is 153 - 156, which is cardio. Please be careful Karey, you're already a star.

    I've healed up pretty nicely. Cept about a week ago I got bitten right on my tt incision by a fire ant and it is making me insane with pain and itchiness but other than that, it looks really nice. No lie! I had sex 2 weeks out. Doc said it's ok as long as you don't use your abdominal muscles. That's virtually impossible. Anywho... they also pull your pubic area tightly up to your lower abs and ..to be honest.. I look like I'm a teenager again down there. For some reason I feel really tight (down there).

    Thanks Irene. I did feel like it was time to do it but the opportunity came faster than I expected and so I went with it. It's all good and ..hey it knocked off 12lbs of fat and skin. But the swelling compensated for some of that loss..about 5lbs or so of swelling but it's going down now. Thanks again... nothing wrong with have a tt before hitting goal weight.

    Cinward, you are soo right. Already I'm looking into breast augmentation b/c my volume is gone. I mean my breasts can only look good with the right bra which worries me. My sister had her breast reduction and is so in love with the work. She doesn't wear a bra most days (so she says). Those babies just sit tight and look straight at you. Told her to wear a bra or they'll be flying south for the winter, lol. So yeah, I need to chill after the breast work. I'll be done then, too bad b/c I saw the "Brazillian Butt Lift" and I'm dying for that but no...no..no. No more! Breasts are where I stop!

    By the way, my results are fantastic and I'm still not at goal yet. Also I have a friend who had a tt done at 185lbs and after having the TT, she went on to dropping down to 130lbs and the skin and fat underneath just healed evenly and meshed well.

    Well, to be frank with you, you don't HAVE to get it. I had my TT before reaching my goal weight (which is fine as long as it's within the 15 - 20lb range of goal weight) because I hated having my flap ..flap around as I ran around and did the crazy stuff I do in the gym and on the pavement. It was rubbing against my pelvic bone/skin and caused rashes as well as cutting..so to speak. It has even bled a few times. So I have many reasons why I did it but for the sake of answering your question...I did it b/c I can.

  18. You are the best kind of pre-bandster. You ask alot of great questions and you are willing to learn and absorb the info. My only advice is take what you need and carve out what you don't as you probably are finding out on this forum. There's alot of info here...sometimes too much.
  19. Jacqui, very true. When I found out my bodyfat% I was in awe and pretty excited. BMI does not factor in alot of things that are important in determining a good weight for someone such as muscle mass/muscle weight/Lean. Bodyfat% is very important. I was 38% body fat @ 240lbs and now @ 140lbs, my % is 25.06 which is "Good or Normal" for my height and age. Like you said, someone could be 120lbs at 5ft 3in and be very fatty v/s someone at 5ft 3in @ 120lbs with a very lean body. I've seen many people that look skinny but have a belly and love handles, no muscle tone at all so yeah, bodyfat% is important when determining your fitness goals.

  22. That's true. They could say something to acknowledge your hard work. I think some people think the weight just magically falls off once the band is in place. They have no idea just how hard we have to work to get the weight off. Here's what happened on my first visit home for Thanksgiving I have 2 mothers. My Bio Mother and my Step Mother. My Step Mother raised me since 9 years old, full time and my Bio Mother had me for the summers. Ok so I went to see them both last weekend for the first time in 3 years as they both live in the same town. They both remember me @ 240lbs and saw me last when my father passed away in 2003. Here was their reaction... My Bio Mother - "Telly...you look like you lost a bit of weight..what are you now like 250lbs?" I asked if she was serious. She was dead serious and she persisted to ask again. My mother is 4ft 9inches @ 198lbs (she says) therefore my 5ft 3inch height towers over her. Her explanation to why I looked like I weighed soo much was that I was taller than her and my sisters. She looked at herself and said, "Oh maybe it's my belly that weighs soo much then since you weigh less than me and taller than me." DH got upset about it. He's about 235lbs so I asked him to stand up next to me, which he gladly did (as he shook his head). I asked my mother if I looked to be my husbands weight. She replied.."NOOO!". In my mind, I'm thinking she thinks he's 600lbs. I said, "Good because he is 235lbs and your eyes are about 110lbs off on my actual weight mom." My Step Mother never said anything about my weight the 4 days I was there. Truth is, she has gained quite a bit of weight since I last saw her and I am not sure if that may be the reason why she did not say anything, maybe to avoid talking about her own gain. I don't know. Ok so we went shopping and she saw something that she thought would look good on me. She proceeded to ask me what my size was and then abruptly changed her mind and said, "Wait wait wait, I don't wanna know." The entire time I was there I never once mentioned anything about my weightloss as I felt quite a bit of tension coming from both of my mothers. It was a "Don't ask, don't tell" kinda week. So yeah, there is rudeness everywhere and where you'd least expect it. Now I guess I shouldn't complain so much about my in-laws and their questioning.

    With the fluoro, they are guaranteed (almost) to not miss your port b/c they will be able to see it and watch the saline enter as they inject. Chances are better with fluro. I think it's $50 - $100 bucks more for fluoro.
