*Gigglesnorts at Paul* You are bad! I'm going to have to be innovative and bump it up on the protein. I'm practically Atkins-ish. I do however go hog wild on Broccoli and Spinich (fresh Spinich leaves for salad..bags of it) Ok, I'll wait another week and go higher on protein intake, eat more veggies and just continue with my workouts. Drink more water. Not getting in 1 gallon anymore, more like 50 - 68fl oz. I'm just ...FRUSTRATED.. Call me stubborn, pig headed, etc. but I did have this goal weight thing for late August and it is just not going to happen at this rate. I'm slowing and I expected it but.. I feel like I'm a hamster in a hamster wheel.

Wow, I don't know. I haven't had a shake in 2 days.. so I'm just having 1 can of tuna and 1 filet'd chicken breast. So maybe 45grams at most. I should bring back Isopure. Isopure just annoys me. I have to scrape with a butter knife, all the white isolated protein that accumulates at the bottom of my shaker. It concretes itself and I scrub for 10 min. Uggh. I will try to get in more protein. You are right. I'm not doing everything I should. I refuse to look at rice, bread, mashed potatoes.. any carbs. I'm scared to go near it.

ROFLMAO!!! PNUT IS A NUT! ONLY 2.5LBS? THAT'S NADA in comparison to all that wine you been chugging. I don't know guys. I think I need a fill because I'm eating like a cow. I can finish a whole breast and and entire bag of salad in 1 day. Not cool. I don't think I ever did that unbanded. My appetite is animalistic. After a workout, I charge straight for the fridge and I get this crazy look in my eyes.

Anyone ever done a 'colon cleanse' ?

http://www.drnatura.com/ Discover Magazine had an article about human parasites.. I'm looking for it. I read it months ago. Here is another article online. I hope this doesn't upset people but ..... it's out there to share. Go figure eh? _______________________________________________________________ http://www.gcnm.com/colon_cleansing_detox.html?ovchn=GGL&ovcpn=GifamGoogle&ovcrn=parasites&ovtac=PPC Are you carrying parasites around in your body? This is unfortunately a lot more frequent than most would like to believe. According to United Nations data: “Overall, about 1.5 billion people have roundworms, making it the third most common human infection in the world. Whipworm infects 1 billion people… More than 1.3 billion people carry hookworm in their gut, and 265 million people are infected with schistosomes.”(10) It is true that most of these infections occur in developing countries, but the rate of parasitic-related disorders in North America is skyrocketing. An astounding number of people would test positive for parasites. This is from the Parasitology Department of the University of Cambridge, England: “Pinworm. An extremely common nematode infection, particularly in temperate areas such as Western Europe and North America… It has been estimated that the annual incidence of infection is over 200 million, this probably being a conservative figure. Samples of caucasian children in the USA and Canada have shown incidences of infection of 30% to 80%, with similar levels in Europe.” Humans can actually play host to more than a hundred different types of parasites, ranging from microscopic ones to tapeworms that are several feet long. Contrary to popular belief, parasites are not restricted to our colon alone, but can be found in any other part of the body - in the lungs, the liver, in the muscles and joints, in the esophagus, the brain, the blood, the skin and even in the eyes! click to enlarge “Parasites are the missing diagnosis in the genesis of many chronic health problems, including diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and endocrine system. Most individuals would be truly amazed if they knew the extraordinarily high number of Americans who are unknowingly infected by parasites…” – Dr. Hermann R. Bueno, Fellow of Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene of London It is extremely easy to come in contact with parasites. Contaminated Water, undercooked meats, improperly washed fruits and vegetables, are just some of the common sources of infections. Transmission from pets or other infected persons is also quite common. Overuse of antibiotics further adds to this problem as this can interfere with normal intestinal flora and lower the body’s resistance. Fiber supplements help to get rid of parasites, but they are not enough. We need to use specific herbal formulas to deal with this issue. Some of the most potent herbs for parasite cleansing include Black Walnut hulls, Wormwood, Pau D’Arco, Garlic, Yellow Dock, pumpkin seed, Male Fern root, False Unicorn, Fenugreek, Grapefruit Seed extract and Prickley Ash bark.

Anyone ever done a 'colon cleanse' ?

Haha.. It's thick. Most of all colon cleansings except for the one where they stick the hose up your bum... most of them use psyllium husk. It's a thickener that will expand in your colon, absorbing the inner walls of your colon, pulling anything and everything attached to them as it is expelled. That's when you begin to see things you wouldn't have thought existed. I take Citricil when the Protein I eat makes me constipated and it's the same kinda thing. I go low on the carbs so the protein intake can get me stuffy. I have read: This black sludge is the gradual build up of unnatural, toxic thick mucous-like substance created by the body in an effort to protect itself from unhealthy foods, stress, drugs, pesticides, etc. This substance may accumulate until it is several inches thick and reaches the entire length of the stomach, small intestines and colon. This layer of mucoid plague prevents the body from properly assimilating Vitamins, minerals and food nutrients. Autopsies have revealed colons that were from 9" to 18" in diameter, because they were so packed with layers of this encrusted mucoid fecal matter....some weighing up to 40 pounds! (a healthy colon weighs about 4 lbs.) If you take the steps to remove this toxic build-up, vibrant health will enevitably be the result. Quoted from the site by some guy named Kevin The Parasite Menace A Myriad of Parasitical Creatures Call the Human Body "Home" Microbial infestations may promote compromised health in their hosts. Parasites live off our body's life-force and the sustenance that we ingest. In addition to a loss of nourishment and cellular damage, the toxidities produced by these creatures play havoc with our immune system and degrade the optimum health of their host. "The cleansing programs are absolutely the best at getting rid of parasites. I've tried many different ones, but nothing gave me the results that these products did. Even within a couple of days of taking it. I could see them there in the bowl, plain as day! Nobody can tell me that parasites are not living in us. When I think about the volume of worms and things I passed, and knowing that only 30% of them are even viewable with our eyes; I can't imagine just how many of them were inside of me. I'm so happy to get rid of them. My health has improved dramatically ever since. I encourage everyone to do the best thing they could ever do for themselves... do the cleansing program." - Kevin" Parasites from me? I don't think so but I did see a few things that were questionable and my food choices are repetitive...so what I saw was not out of the ordinary.... therefore it became questionable. I am not scared to talk about this, not embarrassed either so ask whatever and I'll answer as best and as honestly as I can. Not to be an alarmist..but these are the reasons why I decided to experiment with myself.

Also, if you are used to eating rare meats, sushi and all that uncooked foods, then you'll possibly experience parasite expulsion too. http://www.thelifetree.com/STRCLNSE.HTM check out this page, displaying the types of parasites as well as the rubbery black gunk that comes out

    Strengh Training...YES OR NO ???

Agreed! Do 5 min of cardio first just for a warmup only. You aren't supposed to get cardio workouts in prior to weights, only 5 minutes to loosen up the muscles, warm them up and get your calories burning. Then do your weight training, then after training, get your real cardio session in. That's how several personal trainers informed me. Go low on the weights and up the reps. You won't bulk unless you go heavy on the weights just like she said. Toning up with weight training is how I'm approaching this. I weight train 3 days per week. I do cardio and ab work every single day regardless. You got it right Mary... this is all I hear every single time Im in the gym.

Anyone ever done a 'colon cleanse' ?

I ordered a kit from ebay .. http://cgi.ebay.com/the-Colon-Cleansing-Kit-intense-colon-cleanse-detox_W0QQitemZ120003644729QQihZ002QQcategoryZ67555QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem It's created by an herbalist who studied herbology, etc. blah blah blah. So I put together the stuff, it's made of ginger, psyllium husk and some other stuff, with apple juice for about 5 days.. All I can tell you is... the very next day I started to see large....long.. almost 2 feet long of stuff come out. Black, rubbery, then orange.. then weird things.. I can't say what they were but all I know is it cleaned me out like never before. My belly was the flattest it's ever been and my skin broke out for about 2 days..from detoxification. Then after 3 days it started to clear up. I felt a burst of energy during the cleansing. I felt alert.. happy, smiley, shiny . Lost 7lbs doing it. 7lbs of garbage, etc. You are allowed to have juice, and some other things on the list but that's it. Scary stuff but was unbelieveable. I'm going to order another kit. I haven't done this in 2 or 3 years.

    Hair Loss

After reading on article online, I thought I would share. There are several reasons for hair loss or sudden hair loss: 1. Rapid Weight Loss - will cause hair to fall out but is supposed to stop after awhile 2. Hypothyroidism - uncontrolled 3. Thyroiditis - hormone issues due to weight loss Here is the link to the article http://www.postgradmed.com/issues/2003/01_03/pn_hair.htm Hair loss Download this Patient Note in PDF format VOL 113 / NO 1 / JANUARY 2003 / POSTGRADUATE MEDICINE You are worried by the increasing number of hairs that you find in your hairbrush each day. Will your hair ever stop falling out like this? Why is this happening, and is there anything you can do to stop it? What is hair loss? On average, each person has 1 million hair follicles, or sacs from which hair may grow, on the scalp. Of this number, only 100,000 to 150,000 have hair growing from them. At any one time 80% to 90% of these follicles are growing hair; the remainder are "resting." With age, more follicles begin to rest. Normally, 100 to 150 hairs fall out each day; this number increases each fall and decreases each spring. Occasionally, more hairs fall out than normal--sometimes in clumps--leaving areas of thin hair or baldness. This condition is called alopecia (al-o-PEA-she-ah). What causes hair loss? Most hair loss results from changes in the levels of hormones, a group of chemicals naturally produced by the body. This occurs even though the measured levels of hormones remain within the normal range; people who experience this type of hair loss appear to be especially sensitive to these changes in hormone levels. People whose parents have experienced hair loss are more likely to have it, too. A condition called androgenetic alopecia occurs in some men, who begin to lose hair at the top or front of the head starting between ages 20 and 40. This type of alopecia eventually also affects at least one in four women, who lose some or a lot of hair all over their head. Various diseases and other conditions can cause hair follicles to go into the resting stage, resulting in bald Patches. Severe or prolonged illness, starvation, anorexia nervosa, rapid weight loss, infection, injury, and excessive blood loss can all cause hair to fall out. Many women experience hair loss after childbirth, a miscarriage, or a change in their birth control pill prescription. Certain drugs, such as amphetamines, anticancer agents, gout medication, isotretinoin (Accutane), lithium, male hormones, propranolol hydrochloride (Inderal), and valproic acid (Depacon, Depakene, Depakote), also can cause hair loss. About 1 in 100 people experience a condition called alopecia areata during their lifetime. This type of hair loss usually occurs quickly and results in one or several oval or circular areas of baldness. The cause is unclear, although this disease has been known to occur in persons who have such diseases as lupus erythematosus, thyroiditis, or vitiligo. Hair usually regrows in these bald spots, but it may not regrow if the disease is severe, also affects the nails, occurs in children, or lasts longer than 5 years. Infection with ringworm, certain bacteria, herpes zoster (shingles), and HIV also has been blamed for hair loss, as have syphilis and AIDS. A lack of Iron in the body may lead to hair loss, particularly in young and middle-aged women. In rare cases, a lack of zinc may be to blame. Conditions such as uncontrolled diabetes, hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism, or use of the hormone testosterone in postmenopausal women may also cause hair loss. Poor hair care, such as use of hot combs or very tight braiding, as well as scarring from cosmetic surgery, may result in hair loss. How long will hair loss last? Hair loss usually begins 6 to 16 weeks after the start of the illness, condition, or therapy that caused it. In most instances, it stops after several months, except when androgenetic alopecia is involved. Total hair loss is rare except in the case of anticancer drugs, although the hair usually grows back after treatment ends. How can I stop hair loss? Many cases of hair loss get better on their own over time. Others may respond slowly to treatment. However, any hair that grows back may be thinner than the hair you had originally. It is a good idea to doubt advertising claims about so-called cures using Vitamins, herbs, or nutritional supplements; none of these treatments have been proven to work for hair loss. For men with androgenetic alopecia, physicians may prescribe the drug finasteride (Propecia) to be taken by mouth or recommend the over-the-counter drug minoxidil (Minoxidil for Men, Rogaine) to be applied to the scalp. Women may be given minoxidil or a hormonal or iron supplement. If the hair loss is caused by an infection, an antifungal or antibacterial medication can be helpful. Alopecia areata sometimes responds to use of a steroid drug.

Sugar, I understand where you are coming from. You are proud of your weight loss and you have this huge event coming but you feel you haven't lost enough to wear that "Hot Number" outfit you'd like to wear and shock the chit outta people. I know where you're at. Recently been there. (hugs Sugar). Just think... next year there will be someone else getting hitched or some family function and guess what??? You will be there as the total new you and you will be able to wear something not fu fu'ey...that will have jaws dropping. I can just see it now. Go to your family functions with the mindset that you've got this big secret reveal in a few short months. Look at everybody and think to yourself that they are in for a real surprise very soon. I do that, lol.:kiss

    What is your height?

mommy2boys, I will need a FTT and maybe some lipo around my breasts as well as breast augmentation once I drop down to 140lbs. Years of bad eating behavior got me here. I also know that years of working out will not get rid of this flabby skin hanging around my abdomen. There's no way thousands of crunches will rid of it. I'm down for P.S. no doubt! The sad thing is, lately I've been feeling like a champ about my weight loss. I've also been reading the Pregnancy Threads and I look at my little girl alot, wishing I had 1 more kid. I'm torn really.
