  4. I just found out a few days ago that I'm pregnant, add me to the list! I'm at goal 119lbs from 240lbs. It's coming to me as a surprise....and unexpected. I'm curious about adjusting my fill during this time. I am reading that you ladies only unfill when you are experiencing tightness, which makes great sense. I don't want to get crazy and completely unfill now. Excited

  6. Hey there. Thanks for the compliment. Abdominal slimming or if you want your abs to be lean, it is not the 400 crunches that will cut it for you. Abs is 90% diet, it's the fat intake. 10% workout, core workout and resistance training.

  7. This happened to me except a hole was put in my tubing after injecting lidocaine to numb the area where the Huber Needle would be inserted to fill my port. B/c the huber needle does not leave a hole...the lidocaine needle did...causing me to require a tubing replacement. My cost, $1,500 in Monterrey Mexico. That's an all inclusive fee.
  8. My surgery was 4/11/06....240lbs.... fast forward 3 years and I'm 121 lbs and wear size 2Petite pants. Had a tummy tuck, breast augmentation and replaced port... Life is damn good.

    No more hubby...found a new one...so remarrying momentarily, lol. Post op life is insane. Life is really really good.

  10. I'm in Kissimmee. I just had my band placed on 04/11/06. Anyone in the Central Florida area? I'd like to keep in touch and maybe meet a few people. I am doing well. 6 days out and I lost 12lbs. I am excited and wanted to touch base with other successful people.

But exercise and cheeseburgers just won't give you results. Exercise coupled with a Mocha BK Joe - (340calories) or a Starbucks Mocha Frapuccino....doesn't mean you'll lose weight just because it is a liquid. High calorie liquids will surely make you gain weight.</p> <p> </p> <p>I know calorie counting is ridiculous but it works. You have got to count your calories burned, calories consumed. </p> <p> </p> <p>Here is the formula for weightloss...</p> <p> </p> <p>Band+ Exercise+basal metabolic rate -total daily caloric consumption = Loss or gain</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>Band (restriction tool)</p> <p>Exercise (E) - How many calories did you burn today through exercise?</p> <p>Basal Metabolic rate (BMR)- How many calories did your body burn ...by not doing anything at all?</p> <p>Calories Consumed (CC) - How many calories did you consume today?</p> <p> </p> <p>so....</p> <p>(E) 1,000 cal burned through exercise + (BMR) 1,500 calories your body burned on it's own = 2,500 calories burned. </p> <p> </p> <p>2,500 calories - (CC) consumed calories 1,500 = -1000</p> <p> </p> <p>-1000 calorie deficit means you are losing weight</p> <p> </p> <p>but....</p> <p> </p> <p>(E) 500 cal burned through exercise + (BMR) 1,500 calories your body burned on it's own = 2,000 calories burned. </p> <p> </p> <p>2,000 calories - (CC) consumed calories 2,000= 0</p> <p>This scenerio shows you will maintain your weight</p> <p> </p> <p>and...</p> <p>(E) 0 cal burned through exercise + (BMR) 1,500 calories your body burned on it's own = 1,500 calories burned. </p> <p> </p> <p>1,500 calories - (CC) calories consumed 1,900 = + 400 calories </p> <p>This scenerio shows you will gain weight</p> <p> </p> <p>Drink Water, take your current body weight and divide by 2, ...that's how many oz of water you should consume per day. The more water you drink, the more water your body will flush and the more water you drink, the more your body will rid of toxins.</p> Keep a food journal and definately try to be as accurate as possible and count those calories. Hop on the treadmill and burn 500 calories and record it and do the math. Will you lose or gain today?
  12. This past Thursday, 4 days ago when I went in to get what was hopefully my last fill, I had restriction but not a whole lot... I left with a broken/leaky port. Thursday, after pulling out 3.8cc's and putting in 4.5 cc's with no restriction, I was sent home to see how it felt overnight. Friday, the next day I returned where 2.3cc's was pulled out from a 4.5cc fill. Ok so the port had some saline in it still but not what was put in. So she filled me up to 5cc's with a 5cc band and I waited around. Walked around and drank my Water and ..bam. Nothing. No trickling feeling, no restriction at all. She removed all 4cc's (she put in 5.0 and only 4 came out within the 30min I walked around). She then reinjected me with 5cc's from a new syringe.....no restriction. She pulled out the needle and told me that there definately is a leak. It was assumed that the Nurse must have either punctured my tubing or dislodged my port/tubing (port is moving around a bit now) because my port still had a little saline in it. Needless to say my port site is very painful and swollen from about 20 sticks. I have placed a call to Dr. Rumbaut's office. They have not returned the call yet. I will keep you guys informed. <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

    charley horses ...

    Different doctors have different opinions. It's always good to get a 2nd opinion if you are trying to troubleshoot what's really going on. According to my doctor, potassium was the answer for the charley horses as I consume plenty of Calcium already. Calcium deficiency was not the answer for me.

    Potassium works well for midnight charley horses. Also, i I have found that when I am bending at the knees where my buttocks nearly touches the floor when I am cleaning (for example) that very night, 9 times out of 10...I get the charley horses. If I am cutting off some circulation in the back of my legs by performing squats, I get the charley horses that same night so check that out and see if you're doing that. Squats
  16. 4-6 days per week, 1 - 3 hours depending on my schedule. 45 minutes of cardio 1 hour+ of weights (resistance training)

    I'm happy that you vented. I'm proud of you though I don't know you, for making this very important decision for yourself. That being said, you do not need approval from anyone else but you. You can do this b/c you've proven that you have the drive and the determination to do it, but this time, you will be able to control things b/c you'll be equipped with that extra tool, the band. Your life will change during this process. Men (if there isn't already one in the picture) will come and go. You will feel shallowness from them as you begin to get thinner. If you do have a man....he will go through this too, in a very big way. People are not apt to change and are not always accepting to changes. Friends will either be supportive or non-supportive. I hope you will be able to recognize changes in everyone around you as you change, whether good or bad. Remember that YOU have made this decision and no one else. When you start to lose a majority of your weight, YOU will see others in a different light. You will see dining out in a different light, eating around others will be different. My point being..... this is a new adventure you are embarking on and it's up to you to make it something incredible. I wish you much success. You already have the drive. You can do this!

  19. Welp, I just finished Massage Therapy & Entero Lavage Therapy school and I'm all spent. Now I have to play "catch up" with my work load and get back into the groove of things as I prepare for the State Boards. I worked out religiously most of my time in school with the exception of the last 3 weeks, where truthfully I have been in the gym, maybe 3 times. Tomorrow is back to the workout grind so that I can get my pump back.

    Welp, I just finished Massage Therapy & Entero Lavage Therapy school and I'm all spent. Now I have to play "catch up" with my work load and get back into the groove of things as I prepare for the State Boards. I worked out religiously most of my time in school with the exception of the last 3 weeks, where truthfully I have been in the gym, maybe 3 times. Tomorrow is back to the workout grind so that I can get my pump back.
