You are safe to drive as soon as you are out from under the influence of the anesthesia and pain meds. Everything else is just comfort.

:clap2: WAHOOOO :clap2: can't wait to join ya :scared: -
Well I must be getting close to good restriction... I had my first PB tonight  got some chicken stuck
-
Yay, everyone is getting so close :grouphug: I was very bad yesterday and had potato salad, sigh. I however walked away from the chocolate cake  Not getting on the scale for a few days, I am afraid to. But alas, today marks a fresh start and Monday will be my next fill. Did anyone else wonder if they were ever gonna get good restriction?

Can I get some feedback from other bandsters?
waterlily1072 replied to rhlane's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
So many have given there advice on how to deal with head issues, but I haven't seen many congratulate you on losing 38lbs! You are doing great! I know how hard it is some days but I try and focus on what I have achieved. Good luck and keep up the good work! -
I am having a hard time with so much company, pms, and the holiday. I need to get back on the wagon and make good choices. That and I need a fill, I can still eat bread and that's not good. I am getting full fast but it doesn't stay with me for very long (about and hour sometimes 2), so I figure I am getting close, maybe the next fill will do it for me

Accountability in Mexico? (convincing loved ones)
waterlily1072 replied to Constance's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well I am self pay and I chose a surgeon close to home who has done well over 1000 bands and is considered one of the best. I had to pay 18,500 but I am glad I paid more and know I have the follow up care. I know lots of perople go to Mexico but frankly it scares me to have surgery in another country. -
Yay, I am so happy for you, you are doing a great thing! Taking control back to reach your goal.

I have been in many wrecks, one very serious. This one wasn't bad and am feeling pretty good today so far. I was kind of holding my breath wondering if I'd get whiplash, but yay, none of that going on I wish I had something great to report on my weight loss but alas I have nothing to report, this heat wave is making me retain Water like crazy!
-
LOL Julie!!! Start freaking out because I am indeed 33! LOL weird coincidence. Bad day today :think my carpool got rear ended on the way home. Now I wish I had the re-fill on my vicadin form surgery.
-
Ouch Yoda, I am so sorry your having to deal with this I hope it goes better next time.:grouphug:

We will all make it to Twoterville Julie, about your scale being stuck, remember that in the heat we can tend towards retaining more Water, no matter how much of it we drink, also sometimes we are losing inches and then boom one day the lbs catch up, so don't get frustrated, just take a few days away from the scale and relax, indulge yourself in something, sometimes my scale won't move till I have a day where I take in a few more calories (a spoonful of Peanut Butter is great!) Those little soft serve cones are pretty low in calories and on a hot day they really taste good :Banane56: Josette, I have a friend who is a size 12/14 who talks about how fat she is. I would love to be in that small of a size! and she complains. I wish more people had a broader perspective. But to her those 30 pounds are as much of a frustration to her as our 100+ pounds are to us, let's meet those skinny girls half way Have any of you tried positive self talk? Everytime I try to think positive about my weight loss journey I drop a pound. I go to bed at night and say to myself, I lost weight today, smile and go to sleep. In the morning sure enough the scale agrees(I don't do this everyday, because that is just unreasonable, especially if I ate something I shouldn't have). When I need a fill and am hungry I tell myself that that is just my body burning fat, it's a good thing. When the scale doesn't move I... I am still working on that one. I want to start focusing on that part, hmm...
-
Yay, I am so glad there is a group of us As for depression, there is a little of that everyday, knowing how far I have left to go, watching my friends and family enjoy things I can't have and or shouldn't have. Watching the scale stay stuck. Ah well, they will move and there will be glorious days ahead. Let's all focus on what we have accomplished :success1: 37.5lbs here and a total of 8" off of my hips waist and bust! yay

Oh gosh yes, there are some days I am a snipety little snot. I had to go on BC pills to regulate my period after surgery and yeah, skin looking less than normal and generally, hormone fluctuation city. It's pretty bad when people you work with ask if you are pms'ing. Nuff said. We are here with you, it is supposed to get better as our weight goes down further. I was told that hormones are stored in fat, lose the fat the hormones are released and fun time begins

Wow lapbandit you have lost a lot!!! :clap2: As for possible, anything is possible, 5 pounds per week is a lot, but if you are a chunky loser like some on here it could very easily happen if your body cooperates. I am looking at 18 in 4.5 weeks and not sure if I can make it, but I sure am gonna try All we can do is our best, but dangit it sure is nice when our bodies cooperate and lose like they are supposed to Hmm, currency exchange, not sure, it's been so long, whoever gets there first tell the rest of us

Pfunkem, I am with you on the before's, I hated cameras still. It will be a while before I am comfortable with them and then look out! I am in cosmetology school right now and the hardest thing is having to see myself in all those mirrors! EEK!!! But it is getting better. -
Gas pains. Is it food?
waterlily1072 replied to FunnyDuddies's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Well, my last supper was 3 days before surgery and was approved by my surgeon as it was my anniversary. I had a steak and baked potato and potato skins and lots of other appetisers, and cheesy garlic bread and lots of it. I think I ate around 5000 calories that night, oh and don't forget the chocolate cake. I was not on a liquid diet but an 800cal diet. He did say not to go overboard, but I did anyway  I did have 3 days in between though where I was on my diet between last supper and surgery. I had very little gas pains, I instead had a lot of pain from the fixing of my haeatal (sp?) hernia. -

Yay, 2 pounds in 2 days!!! Last week was TOM so it really messed up my losing streak I kept losing and gaing the sam three pounds and ended on the high  But now I am back at the low after several days of hard work on to make progress today Grats Mari, you are doing great Wheetsin, your loss is absolutley amazing:clap2: welcome ofps We are glad you are here. This group has been a little quiet the last couple of days, but usually we chat quite a bit -
OK folks, I have 18lbs to "Twoterville" I just got a second fill bringing me up to 6.5cc's in my 10cc band. I seem to be holding the restriction, last time the swelling went down 2 days later and this is day 4 today (crossing my fingers and toes) Yesterday was my first day of full on solid food after the fill and if this level of restriction stays I will be very happy. My goal is to get to twoterville in the next 4 weeks, making a total loss of 50lbs !!! Just putting my goal out here so I can't fudge on it later, I am committed to it. PS I know that is a lot to lose in 4 weeks, but I like to dream big and think positive. Besides if you shoot for the stars you know you will at least hit the moon
