  1. Hey Kimkimmie, Good news is you really don't have to give up as much as you think I thought that way too leading up to my surgery. Everyone is a little different but the only things I've had to give up are bread, pasta and dry sticky rice, Oh and fast food chicken gets stuck even the healthier grilled kind so I gave up on that. Bottom line is you don't have to feel deprived you just won't be able to eat nearly as much. It is kind of like the ww flex, except the band counts for you hehe. And when it worries you, just ask yourself what is more important, food or your life?
  2. 7.5 here and finally things are going good

I makes me so mad when doctors say you can't acheive something. The band is a tool and provided there aren't medical issues to keep you from losing you can continue to lose all the way down to a healthy BMI as long as you continue to make good choices and work with your band. On a happy note the scale is moving and i weighed several times today, i am so bad, hehe. had tuna for lunch and salad for dinner, and lots of water. Have a great day everyone and don't ever let someone tell you that you can't achieve your goals, because you can do anything you set your mind to!!!

    Is this normal?

#1 OK so we have had a major heat wave and I got really dehydrated. Is it normal to experience some swelling and discomfort with the band in this state? Yesterday I felt a little nausiated even from the swelling. #2 My school/work has taken me from being sedentary most of the day to being on my feet for seven hours per day only getting to sit for 3 short breaks. I am experiencing muscle soreness even in my abdomen. yesterday I felt like my body was just ripping apart at the seams. I was in a lot of pain by the end of the day. Can anyone tell me if this is normal for a heavy person or anyone to experience this as their body adjusts?

OK all, time to be accountable. I did not get all my water yesterday because I laid down for a little nap at 7 and slept till 7 this morning! But I ate a few crackers and cheese and turkey for lunch and then tuna and chicken noodle soup for dinner. Much better fair than I have been eating :tea: and sure enough down to 314.5 :bowl: time to change my ticker.
  6. 3 fills, I am at 7.5cc's and I am pretty close to the elusive seet spot right now, and yes please send me the link that would be awesome thankyou :tea:

    Is this normal?

Thanks Christy. I am taking today off to give my poor body a break because i over extended my knee too :tea: A little hard to stand with a swollen knee.
  8. I agree you are doing great :tea: and yes it is a big change. I wish I could be as good in my choices and maybe i'd be at -48 instead of -39 but se la vie (sp?) it is still major. I have never lost that much on any one diet ever. I would lose 30 then gaing 35 or 40. I too have PCOS and would love for my weight loss to have a bonus reward at the end of a baby.

    How much does water weigh?

the weight of water is about 10#/gallon., This is based on a 10 gallon fish tank weighing approximately 100# heavier filled than unfilled. I am totally trusting the fish experts who told me this so take it with a grain of salt :tea:

Hi everyone OK I think I have pretty decent restriction now, still need a little more to reach that sweet spot. But despite good restriction this last weekend knocked me on my heiny. We are in the middle of a major heat wave, I haven't wanted real food because of the heat so I turned to ice cream the last several days and the first solid food I had was fried chinese food, I had to go slow but I got it in. And the worst is I started drinking diet coke again. So here I sit with the scale totally stuck. And me stuck in a major bad habit of diet soda. Today I reslove to get back on track kick out the soda and no more pouch packing! oh and no more ice cream unless it's my birthday :jaw: As for another thread once we all get to twoterville, let's all stick together and have a "journey through twoterville" where we can hang out and encourage each other till we are ready for a onederland challenge :waytogo:

    Have you ever experienced.....???

Grats on being banded On the twitch, your port is sewn to muscle so it is possible that the muscle is spasming a little, it should go away. If it is worrying you call your doc, as for the temp thing, your body is healing and is possibly putting all it's energy into that rather than temerature equalization, also, when I am dehydrated I feel that way sometimes, then I start downing the water. Take your pain meds as needed, get lots of rest and sip sip sip.

Yay the scale moved!!!!! Back on track, now if only the restriction holds after the swelling is completely gone  At home sick today though :sick Have you ever felt like you had taken too many anehistamines but you hadn't taken any? Dizzy and weird fever like tingle and super tired.

    Sleep Apnea...ugh why???

I have a cpap machine too I actually love it. It let's me really sleep. I find it very relaxing and it helps me fall asleep too. I don't use the humidifier though, I hate that function. It makes me feel like I am suffocating. Give me the straight air.

    Holiday Foods

You will be amazed by all the things you will be able to at least nibble at during the holidays. And the full flavor of a food is used up in the first few bites anyway so I think we will all be satisfied and proud of ourselves at how much control we have over food instead of the other way around.

    Meat... bandster style...

I slow cook my chicken. Anything else is risky. I also do thighs as they are more tender than breasts. And never if it has been reheated in the micro. It's safer for me to eat it cold.

Wow, talk about a fill. Only one cc added but I feel really tight tonight, I hope it's not all swelling. I can do thick liquids but that's it for right now. I don't even want to eat. I had chicken noodle Soup for dinner and a spoonful of pb for lunch, I know not liquid but definitely not something that was gonna get stuck at that point. Tonight though more swelling and wouldn't dream of putting pb in my tummy. I do need some dairy though so I thought I'd treat myself to some sf hot cocoa before bed Sadly my weight loss has not been significant since my last fill, so still sitting in the same place but at least I didn't gain Oh and hubby and I went out to dinner on saturday and I usually have a burrito (they are huge!) and for the first time I was only able to eat half and no desert! I had the other half for lunch the next day. I won't be able to eat even that much now
  19. Wow, everyone is doing so great !!! Well I had my third fill today and feeling very swollen. This is the first time with a fill that I couldn't do solids by evening good sign
  20. waterlily1072

    Pizza

Well, when you get to solids you can try but I can't. I eat the toppings though sometimes but the crust is bad news, and I tried thin crust.

    April Bandits, It's July!!!!!!!

Hello everyone Well, the last few weeks have been a serious standstill, but that has been my own fault. Theatre style popcorn and ice cream, yikes. Got my third fill today, hoping I finally get restriction. Up till now it has all been my effort to lose. I am ready for the band to start helping cause I'm tired of carrying the whole load. It sounds like everyone is doing well though, grats to all of you on your losses

Going for a fill on Monday, here's hoping I can last that long. Trying to be good. Between school and the 4th and being tired all the time because of my crazy life, I am doing the best I can, right now I really need the restriction to keep me good. I went from being a stay at home wife and step mom to being gone to school/work 12 hrs/day and on my feet most of that. It has been a big change in my life and it is just a lot all at once. I feel like I am swimming in the deep end and my doggy paddle is is starting to poop out.
