Want To Hear About Your "smooth" Post-up Recovery
waterlily1072 replied to bibytz's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I went home 45 minutes after exiting surgery. I had a hiatal hernia fixed as well and was in quite a bit of pain for 3 days, after that smooth sailing. No complications whatsoever. -
OK I am being proactive here. I looked back to when the last time my weight loss was steady. That was when I was using fitday to track all my food and calories. I had what I thought was a light day today and it was nearly 1500 cal!!! :omg: So, I figure maybe my head thinking I need more combined with needing a fill has me eating just too much food. My choices aren't bad, not perfect but certainly not bad. It is the amounts. 2 cups of food at a meal instead of 1 and so on. With the choices I am making as for which foods I'd being doing awesome if I could get the amount down. So to battle my years of programming for portion sizes, I am pulling the measuring cups back out for daily use and am starting to track everything on fitday again. I WILL win this battle. Hope no one is slacking off just cause they beat me to Twoterville

I am in Gig Harbor While my schedule is crazed, I'd definitely be up for get togethers.

I want to get to the 2's so badly but I am having a hard time folks. I keep eating things I shouldn't and eating too much. I ate a burger the other day bun and all, that right there told me I need a fill and bad. Now that I have gotten better about chewing it is time. It will have to be next Monday. so a week from today. I gave in and weighed myself, I know, it's bad, but I had to know if I was making any progress. And nothing! So for a fill I go, and I will just keep trying. When I fall off the wagon, I'll just pick myself up and get right back on. I will get there eventually.

A thread for super-sized bandsters - starting BMI over 50?
waterlily1072 replied to Wheetsin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow, tired old man, suddenly I feel so much better about my issues with food. Great post, thank you. I deal with food addiction every day and it is so hard. As hard as it was to quit smoking controlling my food intake is way harder. -
Wow great Job Elizabeth and Brenda I hope to join you all soon. I will get there even if it takes me a while. Just chugging along and discovered a great salad bar by my school
-
Great post, I do want to say that not all pt's are like that, thank goodness. I loved mine! Till I got in a bad wreck and couldn't excersise for a long time.

Anyone else for the bonus plate of band + hiatal hernia?
waterlily1072 replied to KelliW's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had a hiatal hernia as well. Only thing I can tell diffrent was I was in a lot more pain than others seemed to be. But I did not have any nausea from it and I was told that anything I felt up to doing was ok, except heavy lifting. I looked at it as a bonus, a free surgery -

I am with you guys on the bad backs, not fun at all. Mine is one of the primary reasons for really wanting to lose weight. The less pressure on those vertabrae the better. -
Who is having success with their Band?
waterlily1072 replied to NurseMichelle's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I will speak for 2 since my aunt doesn't subscribe to this forum but I have only been banded for a few months but she has been for a year and both of us are no problems whatsoever -
Grats Josette Don't worry Twoterville isn'tgoing anywhere Now I'm scared, what if I get on the scale in Sept and nada, bupkiss. OMGosh I'd cry. Think positive, think positive Oh and Josette, remember all scales are different, so if doesn't say what you hope remember to take it with a big grain of salt.

I too love ice cream but the richer it is the less I can eat of it, so I buy the gourmet kind and you can get Ben and Jerry's mini containers now that are one serving. Usually a few bites is all I need especially if I do it right after a meal cause I'm not hungry and the richer ice cream won't just go right through

A PB is a power belch. It is the pouch emptying in a vomit like fashion. When the stoma is blocked or plugged things cannot go down, if they can't go down then they come up. PB's are also accompanied by the slimes which is your body producing large amounts of saliva to try to pass whatever it is you swallowed through the stoma.

A thread for super-sized bandsters - starting BMI over 50?

Wow welcome to all the joiners of this thread For the record I have 200 lbs to lose total and I know I can achieve that goal! A friend had bypass a litte more than a year ago and is now already fighting to keep from gaining her back. She lost 200 lbs in a little less than a year and will spend the rest of her life with an alterred body that may or may not be able to absorb necessary nutrients. It will take me a couple 2-3 years to reach my goal and that is ok. The band isn't for everyone and for some the bypass is a good choice, only you can ultimately decide that. I say try the safer first if it doesn't work well for you, you can always switch to some other wls method later. Dezadoo youa re in week 2 it looks like. Mushies at week 2, while I am not your doctor, I truly believe you are safe to move on to mushies, just always excersise caution, go slow and start with stuff like yogurt and move up to stuff like scrambled eggs and refried beans. As for hunger, you will be hungry till you get restriction Grats on being banded -
Thanks LapBandit And Grats Marcy :clap2: Almost halfway through the month and if this excersise hasn't moved the scale at least I will have made a positive effort at breaking my scale addiction
-
Uggh, I hope so, went to the fair today and had kettle corn and a scoop of ice cream. But we had a lot of fun and did a lot of walking, so maybe i didn't do to much damage, but we have to live a little too

Good job BPM!!!

I asked my hubby where the scale was today and he said he didn't remember. When i asked if he was lying to me he said yes, lol. He will not give in, yay :Banane27: So I pulled out the tape measure instead and since I last measured I've lost 2 more inches off of my waist and hips

I find that I lose best at around 1000-1200 cal per day. When I was first banded, it didn't seem possible to eat that much, but you will be able to before long and you will feel so much better. Hang in there -
Wahoo! Noticed yesterday morning that I have an extra 3-4 inches between my belly and the steering wheel And LapBandit, it isn't willpower it's my husbands willingness to hide it, lol
-
Oh My Goodness, where is everyone? I know a lot of you moved into twoterville, but surely I'm not the last one here in tri cities. :omg: It will be at least Sept 1 before I join you as I won't be weighing myself this month :huggie: Almost asked hubby for the scale back but I didn't.

dinners  I was tired of never knowing what to fix, so tonight we went to the store and he got a frozen pizza and I got a south beach entree. 300cal and 32g of protien. It was the perfect amount of food and had no rice or pasta or potatoes, just yummy moist chicken and veggies. And we were both happy with dinner

loveulots we are talking about the 10cc band not the 10 cm on this thread the 10cc holds 10cc's the 10cm holds 4cc's i believe. And as for a fill only having restriction for a week, I would say the restriction you felt was probably swelling, I know I swell a lot with each fill and it last for about 4 days then I know how much restriction I really have
