A thread for super-sized bandsters - starting BMI over 50?
waterlily1072 replied to Wheetsin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Always remember that muscle weighs more than fat. If you are more active now than you were then you are probably building muscle. If the scale isn't moving but you are getting smaller, you are indeed losing fat but gaining valuable muscle. Eventually the weight will drop off faster for the muscle you have built :welldoneclap: Just keep making good choices (I fail a lot too) and walk or go to the gym and it will happen. -
Well holiday family BBQ was today. Between Steak, grilled marinated veggies, watermelon and yes I had a 3"sq brownie I came in under 1200 calories for the day Hopefully I will see the payoff in the scales tomorrow if not then the next couple of days. And thanks for all the support :welldoneclap: I too am just about ready to wear my 28's out in public

You should be fine and I think it is sweet that you are doing it together :girl_hug: Gaining on mushies is very normal. You did preop diet then basically starved for two weeks on liquids now all of a sudden you are eating again and your body is saying food! must store it! This will pass ass you move into solids, then it will be a matter of caloric intake and how much willpower you have till you are able to get restriction. No one expects someone to lose prior to getting fills. You are healing and that is all that matters. I know you are eager to lose and I know frst hand that desire, but trust me it will come. So relax and enjoy your pudding :girl_hug: -
Welcome Dr Montgomery is great! He will take very good care of you He was my surgeon as well.

Head hunger vs real hunger If I am hungry for crap it's head hunger If my stomach is growling it is real hunger There is an inbetween hunger where my tummy isn't growling yet but I still feel "hungry" for healthy stuff like veggies or some chicken then I eat. If I reach the point of growling I try to have a snack first then wait about 20 minutes before eating my meal other wise I scarf too fast and slime. The snack is usually something that can't be eaten too fast due to texture or can't get stuck due to texture. Hope that helps -
Good Morning down to 306 Thanks for defining stones for us learned something new My friends have always been supportive and thankfully cheer for every pound and always tell me how great I look. I think I look like a giant extreme pear. My top is so much smaller than my bottom, lol. Ah to look proportional

Hi Kimm, Don't give up I could totally pig out until I had some restriction, then I could just eat normal and now that I am at my sweet spot I can eat very little. A days menu is something like this B: Cereal & Milk or Protien Shake L: A can of tuna with a little mayo in it or Teryaki Chicken (about 1 cup maybe a little less) D: A little chicken or beef, whatever and some veggies S: Microwave popcorn, yum -
LOL Diane, too old born in 72 old enough to remember almost all those shows that have been listed. If I were a car I'd be a classic :huggie:

Wow! Grats Natesmommy :clap2: You are doing great :huggie: I just want you all to know how much I appreciate all of you who participate on this thread and lend support to me and everyone else here. This is the first thing I check on when I get home and before I leave in the morning. I want each of you to know that I am emotionally invested in your success as well as mine. You all keep me from gicing up and eating the crappy junkfood when I come home dead tired. Thank you and **HUGS**

Kimm, don't listen to non lapband people when they have negative things to say. 1-2lbs a week is what is a healthy weight loss a permanent weight loss. You are doing FABULOUS :clap2: . I know I wanted that miracle weight loss in the beginning too. It wasn't in the cards for me. It does happen for some people but not many. Most of us start out at or near the 1-2lb per week pace. This is not an easy way out, it is a healthy way out of obesity. The band doesn't keep you from drinking milkshakes (over 1000cal btw) or even from eating chips or chocolate. It helps with hunger and portion control once properly adjusted. Hang in there you will do great, I know it -
Yes I think I may very well be at my sweet spot!!! I eat a cupful of food and am full. 1/2 to 3/4 cup and satisfied. I can eat all of the things I am supposed to be able to but none of the nono's like bread. I can have two bites of it but then I can't put anything in for a long time (10-30min) afterwards or it will be bad. I have begun feeding the poor and hungry at school all my leftovers when ever I eat out for lunch. I am becoming very popular . I can now sit in the chairs at school with arms on them and be comfortable. When I started I was in a size 34-36 and now my 30's are way to big. Need some 28's and 26's to get me through the next little while. And a old family friend who has lost a lot of weight just gave me all her 3x's which will fit beautifully now and her 2x's too! Now to just leave the junk food alone. hehe. Two ideas to replace the chocolate. Try sugar free diabetic chocolates and if you like them keep them on hand. Also I really like the Atkins advantage chocolate treats. One kind tastes exactly like kitkats. Not sure on the nutritional stats on those but at least they are sugar free

There are times in life when 300 is a very good number $300 300 pairs of shoes 300 friends 300 days of vacation every year (paid) hehe, just thought I'd share a bit of my goofy mood with ya'll :huggie: BTW the fill seems to be great! Now that the swelling is down, I can eat normal solid food but only in very small amounts and very slowly chewed to goo

It will get better Natesmommy  You get so far and are so committed to the long term goal and then all of a sudden someone pushes the pause button. It won't be long till you have a fill or two in you and then you will really be on your way

My first mushies were yogurt and cottage cheese. The cottage cheese is great because you can add any spice to it to change it up also tastes great with applesauce or any other soft canned fruit -
R there foods that you eat & the next day you gained
waterlily1072 replied to JAYGERL05's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Here here on the cheetos, them and doritos will get me every time. Much of the gain is the sodium but they go down so easy and are super high in calories. -
OMGosh, I hope I don't end up being too tight! I could feel the Water going through at the doc's office. Haven't felt that since initial post surgery swelling I know I will have good restriction, it is a matter of getting through the next two days when I typically swell a bit after a fill. I will feel so much better when that pesky 3 is long gone. I am right on schedule at 2.1lbs per week averaged and my fill nurse was very pleased but since I could still eat bread gave me another full cc in my little friend. With a little luck and self discipline (ice cream ehem) I should be in twoterville very soon  For those of you who love salty crunchy Snacks I found something new today. Savory Mini Thins found at Trader Joe's there is two flavors one salty one more plain. 35 crackers per serving at 110cal. That's a nice snack I recommend trying them

I doubt very much that you hurt your band. You didn't PB and that is the worst thing for your band so soon after surgery. It is normal to feel hungry till you start to get restriction. I almost never feel hungry anymore and when I do I can eat a whole 2 cups of food before I just can't eat any more. I used to be able to eat 3x's that amount. You are going through a big transition and it is normal to "lose it" we all have. Just pick yorself up and tell yourself that you are worth this, and we will all be here to lend support -
OMGosh that is sooo cute. I have a Yorkie and pictures of Yorkie pups always brings back fond memories of her time as a baby
