Welcome to LBT, E Mara and congratulations on your banding.
-
We have bumper stickers on the balmy Canadian west coast. I don't have any because I like to be as anonymous as possible on the road. My favourite sticker: Put down the phone and drive!
-
Welcome to LBT, Amy. I'm glad you found us. I hope your plans go smoothly and that you get a date soon.

Gadgetlady, that's got to be the coolest business in the world! Sounds like you enjoy it.

I'm very happy with my Mexican experience. I have a local (ish) fill doctor. I paid $6000 less for the banding in Mexico, but I had a $600 flight.

Hi Tonya. I'm very happy with my Mexican banding experience. They took very good care of me and are always available to talk to. I even have the surgeon's cell phone number so I can talk to him directly any time I want. I have a fill doctor who is not too far away from where I live, so I don't have to go all the way back for that.

Nice, you guys. I got a bouquet of roses and salal. Six red roses from my sweetheart and six white ones from my boy. I got home from work about 7:00 and put my feet up while he served me supper which was a small bowl of exotic delicious soup with some very soft steamed broccoli floating in it. And wine. They actually gave me the flowers the night before. I had a long full day of work and there was no way I was going to leave them home all day. So I took them to work.

Hi Linda. Welcome and congratulations on your weight loss. That's impressive. I'm from Vancouver Island and had my band done in Mexico. On the Canadian threads you'll find lots of other Coburn patients.

Way to go, missy! March 5 - that will come fast.

Welcome froggy! Congratulations on your banding.

Learning in Alberta, Canada.

Hello 2fatt and welcome to LBT! Holy smokes, Alberta health care covers banding? That's great. BC health care sure as heck doesn't. It covers more drastic forms of gastric surgery but not banding. Lucky you. Go on to the Canadian forum and I'll bet you'll find Albertans who can help you out. Good luck with your plans! -
Perhaps that's why I thought the other pronunciation was "wrong", I just had never heard it that way. I've always heard "cleekish". I'll have to stop being irritated like hell when I hear it pronounced the other way now!

I heard a fellow interviewed once who was head of the British Society for the Advancement of Phonetic Spelling or something like that. He made the point that with the spelling of numbers, English is the only language that has so many that are difficult for a beginning speller. One Two Four Eight are the worst culprits.

Welcome Bogger. You may want to take a look at the food threads for ideas. I'm not doing any particular diet. I'm just trying to eat well, that is, get all my nutrients. Good luck with your journey.

I am new at this but want to say "hi"

Hello Penny and welcome. Congratulations on your banding and your loss so far. -
Hi Sunny and welcome to LBT. I almost chose Dr Leung but ended up going to Mexico instead. I really liked the communication I had with Dr Leung's office and the only reason I didn't choose him was the price difference. Go down below and check out the Canadian threads and I'm sure you'll find someone who was banded by him.

Wheetsin, I stand corrected! I just assumed that the other pronunciations were wrong because I never heard them until the last 10 years or so. However, if clique can be click, how come antique isn't antick, oblique oblick, etc. Go figure, hey?

Sounds like you felt put on the spot. You say you have a signed cheque. Does this mean that you gave her the money and she gave you the cheque in return? If so, then I would be inclined to go to the bank as soon as possible and get it cashed. I too have heard about gamblers committing suicide when hitting bottom. I think that giving them money is enabling them in their addiction rather than helping. I, like your friend, believe that if she does commit suicide that is indeed her decision, however, if you feel like you would feel guilty for the rest of your life if you felt responsible in any way for her death, you may want to continue to give her small amounts of money and let her hit bottom without your help. Am I making sense? On the other hand, many recovered addicts only began their recovery when they hit the end. So, if all her friends stop enabling her it might be the best thing. Sounds like she's lucky to have a caring friend like you, bitter. I hope you get your money back.

HELP!! I need helping picking a roller derby name!!
Devana replied to DrewsLou's topic in The Lounge
She can be one of us. Sounds like some of our fellow country people have been a bit exclusive lately. -
I've never been embarrassed about it, I just didn't realise it had it's own (sort of) biological nomenclature!

Has Anybody Made a List of Things You Want To Do After Weight Loss?
Devana replied to lapbandliz's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yup, I hear you. From everyones favourite designer, Omar the tent maker. I want to go paint balling. I want to be able to strap on my accordion over a slim body rather than a bulbous belly. I want to go to a professional seminar and not be ignored. -
Queef??? Now that's another thing I learned from you, Wheetsin. I'm gettin' my edumacation on this board.

Hey, what happened to Ovaries with Attitude??? That was my fave. -
What is do they call people who take care of their parents and children at the same time? The sandwich generation or something like that. Carlene, you must then be of the clubhouse generation. Grandchildren and parents. Add some cute dogs and it sounds like you have an interesting home life.

laurend, you are certainly welcome to add your two cents as far as I'm concerned.
