I now only have a period every 3-6 months. And it is much lighter. I also had my tubes tied in 1999 so my Mirena is for bleeding not birth control.
-
I got my Mirena in January of 2007 for heavy bleeding. I had my surgery in September 2008. I have not had any problems with it. You can have your provider check the strings at the time of your annual or do it yourself. You have to reach up there towards your cervix. The easiest time to check is when you are in the shower. Sometimes it is possible for your partner to feel a little poke if the strings are too long. The strings are easily shortened. Hope this helps.

I started counting from when I started the opti-fast diet 1 week before surgery.

I had my first fill at 4 weeks, my second at 5 weeks. I was told it depended on if I felt I wasn't getting restriction or not. Good luck.

My port flipped after a hard time getting filled. My port felt flatter then usual. When I had it removed and put back in 10 days later due to an infection, my doctor confirmed it had indeed flipped. All is well now.

I am 4 months out and my already thin hair is thinning on the top. Not too bad yet, but I am confident it will grow back.

Which side is your port on? Choice?
katers replied to Band_Groupie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just phoned my Dr's office to ask how they chose where to put a port. They said that he always puts them on the left just below the ribs because that everyone is the same when it comes to finding it for fills. -
Which side is your port on? Choice?
katers replied to Band_Groupie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine is on the left side, just under my ribs. It kinda pokes out abit. It is easily bumped with things, like when I carry things or step to close to something. I am wondering if put it on the opposite side of your dominating hand...... -
