  1. hey gillian and big sis,

soz just realised ive got you both mixed up,meant to say about the shouting, just give them that look ,you know the one your mother used to do to you,and you swore that you would never useyeh thats right the one that shows you are having homicidal thoughts, and watch the room clear,or get one of those big fog horn thingys( see and i thought i was prepared) that should have them running, just dont let them get a hold of it,cos running for you is not good at the early stages, wonder how this weeks bandsters are getting on ,cant wait to read their replies,

  2. Think I have got big joggers sorted - have got a very attractive pair about 12 years old that I use to slob around the house in and will take those cos don't want to invest in anything I don't need to. Obviously I will be wearing these with sexy crop top (size 20) - just to let the air get to my wounds of course - but will cover up when we leave cos don't want to be driving all the male population crazy with desire! I can't say I'm particularly looking forward to the immediate post op (and lack of sympathy from partner) but of course I'm looking forward to the results and a transformation hopefully by summer next year. Be seeing you soon now, G x

hey gillian ( soz cant call you big sister as i have one and shes a right b***ch)anyway, stitches out today, PAINLESS !! was feeling really scared to cough etc, but left the docs went shopping for xmas pressies ,(ended up with a 3 k leather suite !!!!!!!) no difference then, forgot my painkillers and thought my pain was down to doc fiddling with me !!! but then realised id been lying ,sitting, bouncing on various sofas for about 2 hours,( hows that for coming on from surgery, never thought a week ago id ever bounce again,so there you go)

anyway it really is amazing just how good you can feel just10 days after surgery,im going to try a glass of wine or two before xmas, purely for you guys of course in the name of medical science:sneaky:;), has anyone whose been banded recently, had a drink yet and what happened, did you get the hangover from hell?

im glad i decided to get my band when i did as i will be healed enough to have xmas dinner and some fun at ne"erday, then i will get a fill in january and the real work will begin

    the fox:thumbup:

  3. Hey Fox,

LOL. I'm a secondary school music teacher, so you needn't worry about me checking out your grammar!!..!!!..,,,,,,,

I really want to say a big massive thank you to you for all the info that you have given us band virgins. You've been really helpful and as others have said, I definitely feel more at ease knowing about what I'm about to go through.

I'm glad to hear we get to keep our knickers on. It's bad enough getting my stomach out without the prospect of having to show off anything else!!!

I've another couple of questions for you, they won't put me on a catheter will they? I hope not, only I've seen other lapband patients (from USA) on Youtube who mentioned they woke up with a catheter attached. That would really alarm me if I didn't know it was gonna happen.

Well anyway, today I stopped at Superdrug on my way home from work and bought lots of dissolvable painkillers, Remegels and waterproof wound dressings in preparation for coming home. I also bought a few Protein Shakes from Asda the other week in preparation for the liquid diet. All this prep is really making it sink in now.

How long does Dr Chris insist on a liquid diet afterwards? Does he give you any documents with all this info on? When and how do you go about booking your first fill?

I apologise if I'm asking questions which have been asked before. I have read the whole thread, but it was a while back now and I can't remember everything that's been said, so any more advice you can give would be great.

ALSO, just a massive thanks to everyone who has sent their good wishes to me and Tropical Lagoon about our ops next week. I think the support on here is absolutely brilliant and although I'm nervous as hell, I'm also really excited because of how well everyone on here seems to be doing. Your glowing reports about Dr Chris have all played a really, really big part in my deciding to go along the surgical route.

I hope I'll be able to log on again before I leave for Brussels, and I'll definitely be back on after my op, so hope to speak to you all soon.

    Miss Flump x x x

    Ah ha ,miss flump

good to have you back,no to the catheter, that was one i asked ( tho they do call the shunt in your arm for liquids a catheter)

dr chris will advise a liquid diet for 10 days. but after 7 days i was eating small children i was soooo hungry !!!

im waiting for frederik to contact me with a date for mid january for 1st fill, and im really glad cos my weight loss has all but stopped, hardly any restriction :w00t:,at the mo

i had my husband do my bikini line the night before we left, and it really wasnt nesesary cos you have your drawers on the whole time, the incisions are above what was once my waistline,so if your wearing a bra after the op ,say for travelling, make sure its an underwire free,

been to gps about the pain in my port, there is no infection tho the port is stitched onto a muscle, ive changed my co-codamol dispersible for diclofenac and oh my god ,wish id done it days ago

and for the bandsters out there, who have kids who like to argue or scrap, dont get invoved, and stay away from people who irritate you as shouting is VERY painful and it causes your stitches to throb for some time afterwards,so not worth it,

anyway hope this has answered some more questions for you and good luck to the bandsters for friday,

this time next week, you will be ova the worst, but please experiment with pain relief,as i wish someone had told me this,i could have saved myself a lot of pain, feel da love, the fox:thumbup::cursing:

  4. Hey Miss Flump

Hope your not checking our grammar !!!!!,( or our grampa for that matter )

listen all you will need for the hospital is knickers, cos they give you a gown, there is a hand towel in the washroom, and they will clean your stitches while you are there,

you will need toothbrush ,toothpaste, deodorant, hair brush and if hairs long a scrunchie or hair clip to tie it up,

i took loose joggers and a dark t shirt with a pattern on the front, trainers and a plain black hoody,i couldnt have possible worn a bra if my life was dependant on it,and im a 46ff,!!!!!!

Before you leave you will pick up a pack at the nurses station which contains, painkillers, anti nausea tabs( 3 of ,so use sparingly)pink antiseptic wash ( to use when changing dressings on day 3, tho i had to do mine sooner, cos of a reaction to the dressing )and your lovely last but not least injections for preventing blood clots, the needle is very sharp so very little pain there, small sting for a second, thats all

your wounds will be covered,oh and you will also get anti embolism stockings,so leave yours at home,im just mentally trying to tick off your list what you said you are taking, and as this is not a regular holiday where we all take loads of stuff we dont need or even use, leave as much as you can at home!!!!!!

any way good luck and any more questions ,just ask,:)

  5. Hey Fox,

It's really encouraging to hear that you're improving by the day and that you don't have nearly as much pain as you did.

My surgery is booked for 23rd December, with my flight home on Christmas Eve. I know I'm crazy, but I would have had to wait until the summer for the surgery otherwise, because of my job.

I'm not taking a companion with me, so I am worried about the airport on the way home, but I'm only taking one small weekend bag on wheels, with my nightdress, flight socks, clean underwear, washbag and painkillers. Then I can hopefully focus better on making my way through the airport. :tongue2:

As there are no flights home on 25th, the best date to come home was Christmas Eve and this was mutually agreed between me and Bridget. Bridget said she'd inform Dr Chris about this, so I'm hoping it will all be fine.

I will probably feel like death warmed up, but I don't want to cancel now as I'm all geared up to do this and everything's booked. In 10 days, I'll be banded!!

I will keep you posted with all the gory details!! Also, any other advice from any other bandsters will be gratefully received.

    Miss Flump x x

P.S. Do you get to take a shower in the hospital?

    dear miss flump

cant remember if i said,i wasnt offered a shower at the hospital, but neither did i feel like one,and i was going home to my hotel, but maybe if you ask, there will be facilities, there is a bathroom which you and your roommates share, well not really a bathroom, more of a large toilet with sinks for washing,in the ward/room,but if you really want a shower just ask,if you dont ask you wont get, good luck and remember to log on and let us know how you get on,our thoughts will be will you, love from the fox:thumbup:

  6. Hi Fox are you able to drive yet - do you think you could have driven from the airport home.

Hi mmm, no i didnt drive home from the airport ,had a friend pick me up,im still not driving, thats 5 days after the op,im having a bit of a problem with one of the sites of the stitches, right next to the port,so im off to the docs in the morn, wish me luck, love from the fox:sad:

  7. Hi there,if you feel you could cope, then go for it,you could always ask for help at the airport when you check in ,just tell them you are feeling unwell( but be aware,we flew from brussels to london, then london to glasgow, but the eagle eyed hostess on the london to glasgow flight, followed us down the aisle to ask my husband if i was ok as i looked terrible,we then said we had flown from brussels and i would manage, she then asked did i have a letter from my surgeon permitting me to fly !!!!!!! well i almost died of fright,:sad:i gave her the gastric band info and she took it to the captain where, they all had a huge conflab about the fat bird in agony in seat 12a,and whether she should be allowed to fly,

in the end( after i had lost about 6lbs worrying) they decided it would be ok:cursing: and off we went,

Let me guess are you a teacher, the girl in the hospital room wif me was a teacher and someone else on here is a teacher and are travelling back the next day also, brave bunch you lot, but thenou would only need to go into a classroom to know that !!!!!

going for ANOTHER SHOWER it helps me to feel better:smile2:

so till next time bandsters, take care, love from the fox

  8. Hey Wishfull

glad my posts are helping, you will be nervous ,excited, frightened, and a whole lot more, all i wished for was that i was back safe with my wee family and was 5 or 6 days post op ( forgot to add with no pain to the wish, so perhaps you could add it to yours !!!!!)cant believe im going to say this but,,,,,,,,,,,its hard to remember, even 5 days post op how bad the pain was !!!!!!!!!:)

what i will say tho is when lying on your side,( i found it easier to lie on my left side)PUT A PILLOW UNDER YOUR TUMMY AND WOUNDS TO SUPPORT THEM,and you might get a better sleep, worked for me,

can miss flump let me know how she is getting on,

And can i just say i almost burst my stitches laughing at gillian and co about running for the wheelchairs at the airport, ive got a picture in my mind:laugh::laugh:it will b like a wheelchair convention, good luck

    the fox

  9. Hi

I have a consultation on 18th dec in manchester, i believed it was with Dr Chris however i believe he is doing a clinic in edinburght, a few people have mentioned it will be fredderick, What does this mean.

    Anyone help

    Hi Garry

dr chris and frederik do the op together, so it doesnt really matter who you speak to, ive spoken to both and was told the same by them both, they are both very nice, Chris on the other hand is frederiks partner in ecfs, the after care service, confusing i know dr chris, a guy called chris and a guy called frederik

chris and frederik founded the ecfs company and run it with dr chris as far as i was led to believe,

i had my first consultation in brussels the night before my op,found most of my questions answered right here on this forum, the people here are fab,so good luck in your Quest and just keep logging on the info is sure to just keep coming,as more of us are banded, and dont forget everyones experience is different, but much the same,:thumbup:its all good, love from the fox,ps feeling better again, thanx to the wonder of chicken Soup and a caring husband,:)

  10. Hey Fox,

Ooh, I'm a bit worried now. I'm coming home the day after the operation by myself, but I wanted to get home to have Christmas day with my family.

Guess I'm gonna have to travel extremely light and dose up on the painkillers. I'm not going to be able to afford extra nights in hotels and possible changes to my flight at that time of year. :rolleyes2:

Thinking of travelling light as possible, can anyone tell me whether the Campanile Hotel and the hospital provide bath towels, or should I bring my own?

Hugest congratulations to you on your weight loss. You've done so well. A stone loss in ten days is FANTASTIC!! Keep up the good work and keep us posted.

    x x

OMG Miss flump, sorry to scare you, have you already booked your flights, the campanile will provide towels, if you book the frederik package it takes into account that you will have someone with you ,the only other expense you will have is the flight(which i would say was very worth it !) the frederik package ,you have one night pre op in hotel, one night in hosp then the next night in the hotel again, can i just ask who advised you to travel the day after surgery as my room mate in the hospital did just that and both frederik and dr chris were very angry, because they would not advise travel the day after surgery and you wont feel like it either,(sorry to be the one to tell you this, but this forum is about supporting each other, and id hate to see any one suffer if they dont have to)i used wheelchair at the airport because i felt really wobbly on my feet and lightheaded( no wonder, when all i had was the lovely !!! pea Soup they give you at the hosp)

oh before i forget, stock up on the dutch crispbakes, asda do them, soups and sugar free jelly, for afterwards ans even if not hungry try to eat a little to keep your strength up,( though my appetites just fine, NOTHING like it was,but enough to get by)

im now 4 days post op and i cant believe when i look at it like that, the small amount of pain im in in relation to just after,so no pain no gain girls,(how many times we heard that before) but seriously i feel it really is worth it soooooo far and im still in a little pain, unfortunetly for me a stone (although faboulous)is nothing on the scale of things for me ,but better off than on

oh before i forget,in the campanile provide Shampoo, towels soap, facecloths, handtowels, coffee, herbal teabags ( so if you dont like herbal, best take your own)sugar kettle,i took cupasoup and im glad i did,cos the painkillers were making me feel sick on an empty stomach,so if you can manage even a half a cupasoup it may prevent this, maid service will change towels make up bed replace toilet rolls ect,and there are shops nearby, which your companion could find quite easily should you need anything,

im far from being an expert ,but i can answer any questions if i experienced it,i will try my best anyway, this forum was an absolute lifeline for me,

miss flump when are you going to brussels?

will sign off now, bowl of Tomato Soup waiting for me,feel the love, the fox:thumbup::cursing:

  11. Bigsister has found out about somewhere where you can get medical travel insurance..Im gonna go for that for myself as our normal insurance wont cover us for anything if they know weve been for surgery abroad..think she said her online quote was about £28? ..Ill let you know. Im bit worried today as the pound is on par with the euro today..making what started out as a 3k op...now a 4K op..hubby got not much work on..and my hours cut at work straight after xmas. if i had to cancel, Id just die. its my focus at the moment..gonna have to sell the family hierlooms on ebay!(if i had any)..whatever..owt to get there..I will have to do it now, Ill be paying for it for years to come, but hopefully happy to pay for it cos ill see i got my moneysworth...so feeling guilty and selfish today..I will put lottery on for tomorrow..you never know, even a tenner would help!

Hi guys, starting to feel a bit better again, but strangely enough the better i feel the hungrier i get !!! Tomato Soup ,chicken Soup and dilute juice is starting already to loose its appeal,so if anyone has any ideas just to jolly me alone ,they would be really appreciated,oh i almost forgot the most important thing, today i weighed myself, and bearing in mind that my pre op diet wasnt fab, ive lost........wait for it......... one stone, yes one stone,in about 10 days,so its definately been worth it,and im sorry if i scared anyone with the pain description, but i thought it only fair i should give an accurate account of MY experience,in my room was a lovely young girl called saira, who travelled home on the eurotrain to london the day after the op, tho having spoken to her since she wished she hadnt,i left on the thurs, banded on the tues and needed a wheelchair at the airport as i felt really wobbly but on the up side we didnt have to wait in any queues, and received first class treatment at the airport ,so dont try to be brave girls, take any help you can ,you wouldnt have teeth pulled with no aneasthetic, there are no prizes for bravery,oh and i meant to mention i had a filling fall out while waiting to go to theatre, spooky eh,but overall, the best advice i would give would be to check your package before you go i had the frederik package for 4070,hotel,taxis,band,everything but flights,so no worries in a strange land, and can i just say the hotel do a fab steak dinner, the other girl in my room, her mum booked it all herself which is why she went home one day early ,and can i just say ,frederik was not amused,he was worried for her, but they booked the night before the op in the hotel before they arrived, then went to the hospital with all the luggage, and there is nowhere for your companion to sleep, so her mum then tried to rebook hotel for the night of the op and they were fully booked,so had to hunt for another hotel and they booked thro bridget who apparently told them they could leave the day after the op and dr chris was horrified, but they did indeed leave ,and when i left the hospital the poor girl was still vomiting and unable to tolerate even Water, so just please be careful, check everything before you go and check again, well going back to bed now,but promise my updates will be happier the better i fell, tonight i actually fell not to bad, still painfull at the site of the stitches,as expected, but it will only get better from now on,roll on the big weight loss,(although ive got lots to lose)enjoy your xmas dinner girls:tt1: you deserve it,love from the fox

  12. good luck fox!..(I dont mind you shouting!)...youll be all over the place today I suppose?!.excitement and nerves etc?!..you get your feelings across!, and I wish you the very best of luck and hope your soon back telling us how well its all gone. it will all be over this time tomorrow, and yes, all your forum friends will be thinking about you, dont worry. Gillian X

HEY TC27 AND GILLIAN AND ALL THE BANDSTERS,

    ITS THE FOX !!!!

ALL IN CAPITAL LETTERS, CAN I JUST EXPLAIN TO ANYONE NOT DONE YET OR NOT EVEN CLOSE THIS WAS JUST HOW I FELT,AND SO AS NOT TO UPSET ANYONE, I WAS SHOUTING !!.anyway calmer now,

i chickened out !!!! JOKING, and banded and dusted, back home had a fab sleep in my own bed,and im feeling like ive been hit by a bus,it now feels like a small bus granted, in comparison to an aeroplane, its amazing what a difference a few days can make, ive just come downstairs for some painkillers and couldnt resist signing in although sitting at comp not recommended this early on!!!!!!!!! juast wanted to say thank you for the support girls, everything went fine.except that i had a crazy belgian gereatric patient in my room, but before you panic aparently this is not normal !well gotta go will leave much more details when i feel better, any questions just ask, good night and god bless you all,the fox:thumbup:

  13. Hi fox, just looked on the Linda Briggs site and they do do travel insurance for people travelling abroad for surgery..it is Angelis insurance underwritten by Lloyds.. I have just tried to get a quote myself but for some reason i cant get past the first page so theres a prob somewhere..but you can email her..the address is on the page..or you can phone, the phone number given is.. 0044(0)1354610368. hope you get some response in time..Gillian x

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH, THIS IS DRIVING ME COO-COO,:cursing:HAVE SPENT THE WHOLE NIGHT TRYING TO GET INSURANCE BUT ON MOST SITES CANT GET PAST THE FIRST PAGE ,SO AGAINST MY BETTER JUDGEMENT IVE GIVEN UP,IM ALSO TRYING TO DO IT WITHOUT MY 11 YEAR OLD LEANING OVER MY SHOULDER,COS HE KNOWS SOMETHINGS GOING ON, AND HE KEEPS TRYING TO SNEAK A LOOK AT WHAT IM DOING,AND IVE SPENT MOST OF THE DAYS SHOUTING AT HIM TO JUST LEAVE ME ALONE,AND NOW HES GONE TO BED I FEEL REALLY GUILTY,(THE 5 YEAR OLD CAN BE BOUGHT OFF WITH SOME PLAYSTATION TIME!)

SO TOMORROW IS THE BIG DAY OFF TO BRUSSELS AND DONE ON TUES,HOME ON THURS,

I JUST WANT TO TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO THANK ALL YOU GUYS FOR THE ADVICE AND HELP GIVEN ON THE RUN UP TO THE OP,AND HOPEFULLY I CAN GIVE SOME GOOD ADVICE MYSELF AFTER TUES,SO HOPE TO SPEAK TO YOU ALL NEXT WEEK,I WILL BE THINKING OF YOU, HOPE YOU WILL BE THINKING OF ME,AU REVOIR MES AMIES:rolleyes2::biggrin::wink2:TILL NEXT TIME !!!!!!!!!!!! THE FOX

  14. Hey Fox, please dont worry, nothing bad is going to happen to you, Dr Chris and his team are fantastic and you couldnt be in better hands-honest. Any operation carrys a small danger, but over all anaesthetics have come a long way and are safter than ever and as far as I am aware Dr Chris has not lost any of his patients lol. I think its so unfair that your friends should be doing this to you no matter how much they care, its hard enough on you as it is without that sort of support. As most of us have felt the same fears we are right there with you. Its the unknown that causes the fear but the benifits far outweigh them and you will be up and about within a few days of your op. There will be pain but its managable , I was one of the lucky ones where I was up and about the next day and sight seeing the day after-phew i was so pleased because im not good with pain lol and I was on my own. The only thing that I found painful was the trapped wind in my shoulder but if you can walk around soon after you are sent home try and walk the wind out. I took some apple juice to desolve the pain killers in and it was like having fizzy apple juice lol. I was banded on the 15th October and I am feeling fantastic. I have now lost over a stone and have no regrets at all. So chin up, stop freaking and just keep posting.

    HEY CHRISSY4

THANKS FOR THAT,TRAVEL INSURANCE, ANY INFO ON THAT ONE,ANYONE OUT THERE REMEMBER READING IN PREVIOUS POSTS OR HAVING BEEN BANDED RECENTLY ABOUT INSURANCE AND WHAT TYPE I WILL NEED AND WHERE TO BUY:eek:,GOTTA GET IT DONE, OR MY HUBBY WILL PULL OUT, HES STARTING TO GET WORRIED AND AGITATED,AND HES ONLY MY COMPANION,( AS HE HAS THE BODY OF AN ATHLETE !!!):cursing:SO ANY INFO ON THE OLD INSURANCE FRONT WOULD BE VERY WELL RECEIVED AS I ONLY REALLY HAVE TOMORROW TO GET IT SORTED AS IM OFF ON MONDAY ,BANDED ON TUES AND HOME ON THURS,AND HOPING TO BE SITTING HERE AT THE COMPUTER POSTING NOTES ABOUT HOW EASY IT ALL WAS,:girl_hug:

  15. hi every1 just to let you know some positive info... despite the pain i got weighed today and i'm 8 days since banding and i've lost a massive 9kg!!!! WOW:tongue2:

    THE FOX:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

  16. You may be ok due to the fact you wont have had a fill, its up to how you are i guess. I went o work function last night and had 4 single vodkas with fresh orange over the whole evening and was fine. After my fill next thursday may be a total different ball game. I got rid of wind by walking and lying flat on my stomach which is quite painful but effective. It seemed to squah it and move it, maybe it was in my head :wink2:

Now just one more question how do i get that tracker weight loss thingy you all have on your page,im having a party on friday for A FEW close friends, the whole 5 i have told and its going to be fancy dress, the most ridiculous outfit you can find, im stuck between britney spears and a giant corn on the cob, but i say hey hell ,why not go out with a bang!!!!!!! there will be food ,booze and good company, what else do you need for a great party,:smile2:,so as you can probably tell the pre op diet is not going very good at all, but does everyone not pig out before the op or is it just me:embaressed_smile:

  17. You don't need a great deal of stuff at all. They supply the gown you wear for the duration in hospital. They give you all the meds whcih includes:

Painkillers, anti-vomiting, anti-bacterial Fluid to clean after dressings come off, 5 x syringe of anti-coagulant? (stops clots) .

The wounds themselves are covered with dressings then like a cellophane cover that sticks to your skin. This is not to be removed for 10 days, you can shower the day after but no baths.

I took a laptop for dvd's and a book, the main stay for me was boredome in the hospital with no one to chat to. You will be sleepy most of the operation day anyway and wont want to do much at all. I was up and about and walking the next morning as soon as they removed the drain from my stomach. The hotel does not have british TV so be prepared to amuse yourself there, i used my laptop to watch movies online using hotel broadband which was quick but pricey for 3 days.

I am post op 3 weeks friday and apart from pain at my port when i bend down to pick stuff up or tie shoes i feel quite well. I have had no problems at all with vomiting or feeling sick. I was not prepared for the pain afterwards but its managable. The gas trapped pain took 6 days for me to get rid of. I have an appetite now and looking forward to my first fill next week. I have been on will power to not eat to much as without restriction i know i can eat probably anything but once filled it will be a different story so i will just stick to my small meals.

I have lost over 4kg's in 2 1/2 weeks and people have started to notice already if that does not help will power i dont know what does

wow thats fantastic, and thanks so much for the info,hw did you get rid of the trapped wind? :wink2:,my husband is coming with me so i shouldnt be bored,he may be, but i hope to sleep the pain away !!!!!!!,now what about the xmas festivities,i wll be two weeks post op, will i still be on liquids and will that be long vodka for starters, dry white wine for main course and champagne for dessert, that is minus the strawberry cos thats a solid,so cant have that!!!!!!!!!!:smile2:

  18. I was only one night in the hotel and the pain is there the next day but bearable. I did take some of the 1g Paracetamol they gave me the day i travelled but all in all it was fine. Don't worry about it.

thanks alfie858,thats settled me a little:ohmy: ,so any info on how to prepare , what to take with me etc,my doctor has given me some dressings and co-codamol,will i need any other supplies, like do you wear your own pjs or a hospital gown! i dont want to be taking things i dont need,so anyway how are you coping post your banding,do you have loads to lose, i would like to lose about 9 stone, thought im almost 6 foot tall, so i just look well filled out apparantely !!!!!!!!!! but that is the opinion of friends,so good luck on your journey and keep us posted as to how you go,i fully intend to ,this forum has been a lifeline for me ,it also helped me make up my mind to go ahead and have it done,so roll 0n the 9th december and hopefully for my kids sake i will at least be upright for xmas day,

    THE FOX:w00t::mellow::smile2::wink2:

  19. Hi, I'm pleased you are feeling better now, but I must say I feel quite concerned about the amount of pain you suffered. Is this normal? I am only staying for one night in the hotel after the night in the hospital and as my flights are booked it's too late to change it. I know they say no pain, no gain! Take care and let us know how you go. T x

    hi TC27,

Im being banded on the 9th december im also in the hospital for one night and then the hotel for one night, i booked the package with frderik and was advised thats what most people do !!,so now im worried too, but bytheseaside was banded on the 28/11 and is now feeling loads better ,so maybe lots of pain day one two and three maybe but surely the hospital will give you pain relief, or do we take that ourselfs, and what else might we need ,AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH, !!!!!!!!!!!!:smile2::wink2:

  20. Hey you guys,

Anyone there, its the Fox here, ive got 11 days till i go to brussels and ive got millions of questions, is there anyone out there who has already been banded that can give us a blow by blow account of events from pick up at the airport,im feeling very nervous as the time gets closer,my friends are starting to freak me out a wee bit ,they are getting very weepy and one of them asked me if i had written letters for my 2 young sons incase i dont come out of the anaesthetic !!!!!!!!!!!! HELP !!!i need all the info i can get to shut them up, its not that they dont think its a good idea, but they are worried,so im told, and now im worried too, not worried enough to cancel though !!

  21. i'm being banded on friday so wish me luck!!!! my pre op diet hasn't gone very well oops!

I still havent received any more details from frederik about what happens after you pay your deposit, book your flights, all of which ive done, what now? do i just wait? can anyone tell me the proceedure from stepping off the airplane, like when is the last time you can eat or drink ,is it midnight or 12 hours before surgery, how will you know what time you will be operated on etc, sorry for all the questions but i know there are some of you already done and have the answers and i cant see the point of sitting worrying about it if someone can allay my fears,( hopefully) please excuse any spelling errors as im just finished a 12 hour night shift!!!:ohmy:

  22. Hi, was just wondering if anyone has heard of Tallia Law, she is supposed to be parrt of Dr Chris De Bruyne's team. Thanks Laura:thumbup:

hi there, i have heard of a tullia law, and think she is an agent for dr chris ,as i had a zillion phone calls from her trying to get me to book through her but after reading thisforum i decided to go straight to frederik myself and not through an agent, its cheaper that way, 4070 euro,( more money to spend on clothes when this huge fat body just melts away after surgery !!):cool2: being banded on the 9th of december, so hope im ok for xmas, i have two young kids, who will want mummy on the wii fit on xmas day, or at the very least to be sitting up with a little lippy on !!!:smile2: wouldnt it be good if we could post before and after pics here to encourage one another, just thought id throw that one in ,any takers, it would be interesting to see that photo that just decided it for you, and im sure we all have one, i certainly do !!
