My Lap Band journey has been fulls of twists and turns. From an unexpected $1240 bill from the Surgery Center after being told my copay was $40 to a sedond surgery to replace the tubing form the port that had popped back through the incision, I have had days when I doubted the decision to have the Lap Band. Even now, almost a year after the initial procedure, the incision over my port drains on a regular basis. I didn't even get my first fill until May of THIS year! But I am hopeful that I am on the right path now, I got my second fill last week and I am working on my diet and exercise program. I don't see any favorable outcome as far as getting my copayment issue resolved, but I am more concerned about getting to my target weight and being able to maintain a healthy weight.I am a bit more optimistic about the whole thing now, still a wee bit reserved about it but I am hoping for the best. I did shed 50 lbs (although most of them were because of the complications from the first surgery. Not the way I wanted to lost the weight but the result is the same, I already feel better and I am looking forward to shedding another 75.
