Is There A Place Here for Lapbanders To Sleeves?
LCroft replied to maygoddess's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
He was able to get both done in one surgery. It takes a little bit longer. I’m sore but doing well! -
Was anyone an outpatient for surgery?

Oh, sorry! Dr Fass is in the same practice as Dr Faulkenberry. I think they use the same protocol. -

Hi! I'm a Fass patient so we probably had nearly the same protocol. My surgery was 4/2. -

Hi All, My surgery is April 2nd and I'm getting pretty petrified. Wondering if I'm doing the right thing, scared it will fail, afraid of freaking my kids out when I tell them this week, scared of recovery, scared of not being able to eat food, just f**king scared, y'all! I had Lap Band surgery in 2007 but I don't remember being this scared. Someone help me remember why I'm doing this and tell me how you got through the scared part. Ever so grateful in advance...

Another Pre Surgery Jitters Post...
LCroft replied to LCroft's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Ok, y’all. It’s done. Surgery was at 2, came home at around 7. I snoozed for a few hours and didn’t take pain meds so now I’m awake waiting for the Tylenol, gabapentin and Celebrex to do its magic. Lots of gas pain and an occasional hurty place where my new, smaller stomach is. Must stay ahead of the pain with the meds! -
My surgery is Monday. I already have anxiety so I'm kind of a nervous wreck. It helps to see people just starting their surgery journey! Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing! I'll be watching you for inspiration!

Revision From Lap Band to Sleeve
LCroft replied to Whitney W's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Hi Whitney, That is so much stress! I hope that you have plenty of support and practice good self-care. Take good care of you! Find a good meditation you like and keep in on your phone. I had Lap-Band surgery in 2007. I lost about 50 lbs but hated that thing. I'm having sleeve surgery on April 2nd. I wish you all of the luck and peace. -

I'm pretty scared about all of it. I have 6-year-old twins and I am telling them this week about the surgery. I don't want them to worry and I don't want them to think fat is bad. I'm scared about the actual surgery then so so scared about the initial recovery. THEN, the after. How long until I feel normal after surgery?

Good luck to you!

Anyone have problems with this doctor? I'm having serious doubts here ... His office has been here for months yet there is still no furniture there and today they had no power. Had to check vitals outside because it was so hot in the office. It took forever for him to find my port. I have 7 punctures in my belly now. Just not a lot of confidence in this man.

Hello, I had my surgery in Oct. 07 with Dr. Wilson in Houston. Since then I've moved to Austin. First, I had to find a doctor to take over my treatment. Second, I had to find someone who accepts my insurance, BCBS-NJ. I found Dr. Patel, who takes other patients, but I am very disappointed and a little scared. His Austin office makes me feel like I'm in a back alley clinic. I need desperately to find a doctor who will 1.)take me and 2.) take my insurance. SW Bariatrics will take me if they review my info and accept me. In the meantime I'm an orphan. Any advice? :rolleyes2:

I'm Leighanne. I was banded on Oct. 17, 2007. I have lost right around 50 lbs. My doctor was very conservative with fills and it was frustrating. I moved to a different city and found a dr. to take over my care and he was more aggressive. That's when I started losing some weight. I've been pretty good about following my doc's instructions. Still need more Protein but I'm doing fairly well with keeping my portions down and such. Still, I am not where I wanted to be a year later. I need to get off my arse and exercise!
