    I cheated a little...feel so bad.

Don't think of it as cheating. This is not a diet. It's a lifestyle change and life happens. If you feel like you fell off the horse today, just get back on it tomorrow. That's the beauty of it....there's always tomorrow!

    SOFT FOOD IDEAS....

Go to amazon.com and search "no chew cookbook". There are a bunch of them.
  3. Congrats everyone. Onederland is a onederful place to be!

    Who Knew, Corn?

Try cream style corn. You won't have to chew so well. My worst problem food is red meat. It doesn't matter how tender and moist it is, it's not going! I'm fine with poultry but beef, pork and lamb always give me trouble. We all have to just learn what we can and cannot eat.
  5. Great job. Keep up the good work.

    What should I do?

Unless you owe your brothers money they shouldn't get a vote. Do what's right for you. They'll change their tunes when the weight starts falling off of you!
  7. Fill or unfill it doesn't matter with my doctor. It's 12-24 hours of liquid either way!
  8. I use mylapbandjourney at lapband.com. It's the Allergan site.
  9. ...and they were right!
  10. I've always been the same way. I even tried to refuse to let lap band center take a before of me. Now I'm the complete opposite. If there's a photo op, I'm in. Today is my BF's birthday so we went to a ball game. (Anybody who knows me knows that's how I celebrate everything from April to September!) The fan photographers were out in force and we were all passing around our cell phones taking each others pictures. I'll post a couple of them on my profile if anyone wants to see them! My willingness to smile for the birdie is one of the best parts of weight loss!

    Sweating

Mine too but the heat bill is a killer!
  12. That pain is awful. It's been 3 years for me so I can't really remember exacty how long it lasted but I would guess it was at least a month or two. What really helped me was the chiropractor. I had him adjust my mid back and the relief was instantaneous. It would last about 2-3 days and I would go back and have him do it again. For those who have misconceptions or are unsure about chiropractic....the "cracking" sound you hear is NOT bones cracking. It's the sound of gas being released from the joints. The gas from surgery gets trapped and that's what causes the pain. Release the gas, the pain goes away!

    Sweating

Not only do I not sweat like I used to, when everyone else is hot, I'm usually cold. While my BMI is still in the "overweight" range I have very little body fat left. I have a large frame and am pretty muscular. I think that's the problem.....I don't have any insulation left. Winter in Michigan this year about killed me. The first 2 days that it got over 90 here, everyone else was boohooing about the heat and humidity. I loved every minute of it. Finally, I wasn't freezing my a$$ off!!

    BLOATED

You haven't eaten anything in 3 days....longer if you were on a pre op liquid diet. There's nothing in there to come out. Don't worry. It's normal.
  15. What has always helped me is using a smaller plate. If you put a small amount of food on a dinner plate it looks empty giving the impression of not being enough food. Put the same amount on a salad plate or saucer and it looks like more. I have also found that if the plate is ugly I don't want to spend as much time looking at it so I put the Fiesta-ware away and bought a package of 6" Dixie Ultra paper plates. (Saves on doing dishes too!) Sometimes to force myself to take smaller bites, I eat with a pickle fork.

    Does it feel weird??

No, I cannot feel the band, only the port and I couldn't feel that so much until I lost a substantial amount of weight.
  17. Six days for me. I worked on the psych ward at the time.

    Eating Time

I don't really have much of an appetite most days and I hate the feeling I get if I overeat. Like most bandsters, there are things that I just can't eat....bread, Pasta, red meat, french fries...other than that I pretty much eat whatever I want. I don't deprive myself because I know it won't take much to satisfy me. I take a bite and wait a couple minutes before i take the next one. The minute the hunger pains stop so do I. I've had my band for 3 years. It took a long time to get to this point. Now it's just a way of life.
  19. Stand in a doorway and wear the same or similar clothes. Take a picture every month and then make a power point of yourself shrinking!

    Should I exercise or not?

You probably weren't getting enough calories when you were working out causing your body to go into survival mode. Now that you aren't burning so many calories (I'm assuming you are still eating 1200) your body doesn't think it's being starved. I would go back to working out and kick the calories up a little.

    Eating Time

No, I'm right where I need to be. I don't ever eat til I'm full. I only eat until I'm no longer hungry.
  22. Same here. I bypassed 20 and 18. Wore a 22 for a long time. Then all of a sudden I was buying 16's.

    Eating Time

If I had an hour lunch break, I could eat AND take a nap! I'm usually good after about 4 or 5 bites!
